  • I dont know if I believe 100% that you’re the product of your environment- but I DO think that you have the productivity of your environment. The same is true when you’re working or creating, and it might not mean you have the means or opportunity to fully renovate a space, but the more care and control you have over making the environment conducive to creativity, you’ll be subconsciously buffing your stats.

Watching the Monsters Inc. behind the scenes and bonus features was the main reason why I became a Freelance Artist/ Animator! :D It's cool to know someone else was inspired by the exact same thing. Also, your amiibo collection is so darn impressive!

It’s always fun to see other artists’ studio spaces. And great reminder about how our setting can impact our focus. This just spurred me on to tidy up a couple quick but impactful things in my own space today.

I actually recently did something similar to what you did. Obviously, on a massive fraction of the budget. I actually did the opposite, where I replaced my L-shaped desk with a standard one. It helped me to reduce the clutter in the space in my room, so I didn't feel so trapped. Also, I have the same edifier speakers as you, neat! Eventually I want to do something a little more, more in line with a studio, but what can you do. Also, can't one have both Lamborghinis and knowledge? Studio tours are always so relaxing. I love watching them, and this was a very cozy one.

Im so glad! Can absolutely relate to the trapped feeling. So it goes that the knawledge led to the lambos, but I'm not so sure. 😆

I just found your channel, I definitely feel my room needs an update, its pretty much the same as it was when I was a kid although I took all the disney Cars wall stickers off a few years ago and moved things around.
I have a PC desk set up that's 50% done, my ikea countertops sitting ontop of the "teacher" style desk that is my mothers that her grandfather made and the countertop hangs over on each side by a lot.
Anyways to the point, I definitely feel I need to change the colors, from half white on top and light blue bottom to something more adult guy. That and overall kinda "modernize" it and put my led strip lights in better configurations to make it a more "chill" room, and add things to just overall boost my creativity.
Ive been looking for video's like this on rooms designed for this very thing, and this kinda helped. I do have a general idea for what I want, but also not sure other ways to make the space a creative space with out the clutter as ive over the years gotten tired of clutter, i still got to continue to organize my bookshelf and get rid of stuff on it that has been there for years since I first got it as a kid.

The thought into planning the whole room to be camera ready was worth it. The room looks awesome. A few months ago I added some fake plants and a small bookshelf to my desk area. Those two changes surprisingly made the biggest impact on my mood and productivity.

If I had shelf of figures like that in my workspace, it would take about 37 hours and 23 minutes before they were terraformed into an elaborate spider colony. The perils of listening to the Cure, I guess!

Dude, this looks RAD, Brookes! I still have a bunch of prints and things from LBX 2022 that I need to frame and hang in my spaces. I've just not made the effort to do it yet. Hopefully I can get that started after how rejuvenated this year's con got me! Also I'm super impressed and thrilled over your figure collection, that looks awesome! I'm also not too great at organizing a space, but I did get a lot of my Up merch organized and displayed last year. I just gotta do it for the rest of my stuff 😵‍💫

I’ve found that maximizing desk space really helps my creativity; I get a monitor arm so I can lift my tablet up and out of the way if I need room to do traditional media, I bought a desk lamp that mounts to the wall instead of resting on the desk to free up more desk real estate, I also bought a drawer unit from ikea to store excess items instead of shoving them in a desk drawer here and there.
In a few years I want to get a large pen display and a mini pc, possibly mounting the pc to the wall or put it on a wall shelf

My rebuild from a few yrs ago ended up w/ my top shelves as storage so I still have a chunk o' books hidden.

Great video! Not what I typically expect from your channel, but got me thinking about my own workspace. Typically, the only factor I consider when re-organizing my workspace is whether it's clean or cluttered. Can't think with a cluttered space. But now I'm wondering about thinks like desk position and all that.

I just wanted to ask, but do you have any advice for finishing projects and making videos with your adhd? I find it super hard to sit down and write a script in order to get a video done, but there have been a few times I’ve been able to get something finished. I don’t really know what the difference between those times are and I thought I’d seek some insight from someone who has actually put out multiple projects and videos consistently.
