when you measured the capacitor you had the capacitance of your thumbs in parallel. also power diodes always read low on diode test as only a small current flows, not the current that the power diode datasheet uses.
Great demo. You pretty much help decide on placing an order for this DMM from Amazon. They have this same DMM for $25 with free shipping as of 4/25/12 :) Thanks!
holding a cap in rev. polarity ? man... you could've lost your finger... the DMM supplies very low current to the cap., so the heating is probably slow... BTW, if you've a Fluke or other better quality DMM (or scope) in school at work, would be great to calibrate your Mastech DMM against it, using the same components.

@banzie74 I do have a decent DSO here. I'll have to look up how to calibrate the DMM.

Hi,
How is the inside of the multimeter? How is PCB, soldering, etc quality?
Can you show us inside of the meter?
@sepertude Yeah, as a beginner, I appreciate the comment :). I'll post some corrected readings in light of this. Thanks!

Not a bad little meter for that kind of money...
so have you already tested currents?
thats what i need it for ^^
Which additional Plug do you use at 5:30 to test an transistor?
@ralree gr8. would love to see what you find here.

Dont hold parts with fingers when testing :)
Глухонемой чтоле?!
"папаша, у тебя огоньку не найдется?!" :-L
Ты что? Немой?
