Great review and i agree a really great game which i love - just a quick note on your match resolutions for clarity - the two wing columns are columns of 3 and you take each of the 3 boxes in the column as a combination v your combination of 3 (so in effect each wing could have up to 3 players in it and are not just judged v their directly corresponding box - hard to explain by text and it may not make a huge difference most of the time). Then you do the middle 3 sections separately - so overall you have 5 sections to settle separately to determine the result. Also the number 10 3 strength attacker you had would not be blocked by a 1 goalkeeper, to block that shot you would need against you either a 3 defender or a 3 keeper value. As such a block is only v an equal or lower amount. So my take is you start with their left column your number 11 shot is blocked and so is their shot blocked by either your number 4 or 3 (0-0). Now to their right column your number 10 scores as his 3 value cannot be stopped but your number 7 is blocked by their keeper - there are 2 shots against you and your keeper saves 1 and your number 2 blocks another (your keeper is now used up and his i think has 1 glove left of his 2 if i can see it right on the video (1-0). Top middle your number 8 is blocked by defenders and they have no shots (still 1-0). Midfield centre their shot is blocked and you have no shots (still 1-0). Finally centre defence their attack is blocked by your defender so score stays 1-0. Hope this helps - i am sure its harder to do it quickly on video.
Thanks for the awesome review! I'm feeling exactly like you. I don't understand how some reviewers don't like the match phase. I love it. Yes, the flow is so easy but the decisions so hard! We'll have to get some expansions. I just ordered Stadium and The solo Campaign. From the others, which one would be your favourite for solo play if any? Thanks!

I was looking at Eleven but went with Superclub as well, so if you played both Eleven and Superclub I’d be interested to hear your thoughts as they seem similar. I don’t own any apparently Superclub is now getting licensed English Premier League stuff, so you can play as Man United with real players.
I agree this is the best football manager game but the bar has been set very low previously. There is also Und1c1 which came out recently which focuses on the tactical aspects of a single game. I just got it and haven't played it yet but it looks promising. Seems to play a bit like blood bowl but there is a noticeable lack of blood.
Rob, you know I am a sports game gamer first, do you recommend this as a solo gamer? I have nobody to play against. Should I get the whole package or just the solo experience?

Great looking game, the only problem I would have is that if I want to play a football team management simulator I would turn to Football Manager on the PC. I love that game and I love starting down on tier 5 or 6 (English leagues) level teams
Great game, but had too many issues with Portal games customer support in trying to get all my stuff from the pre-order( even gave up even trying to get the sleeves I was supposed to get). As much as I love this game, I'll never buy another game from portal games - and it's all due to their horrible customer support.
@Rob's Tabletop World Right. 401 games in Toronto Canada has it for $50. Plus $20 for each Expansion. I'd suspect converting over to any other major sport would be as simple as updating theme. All rules and components would stay the same.
