Ikr, I just got Tiara for 15 bucks. However I still want a discount Georgia Bloom, for the outfit. Georgia is such a beautiful doll the discount one and the high-end one.

$18 for a budget doll with no articulation or extra accessories is kinda crazy. The current Monster High budget dolls are roughly the same price and have all of the same articulation as the standard dolls, minus the chest joint and come with one or two accessories. They are decent looking budget dolls but the price is a bit too high in my eyes.
I'm not sure if these are worth 18 dollars. The budget monster high dolls are of the same price range and those dolls have articulation, accessories and a lot more outfit pieces.

Differences being the much higher quality hair (monster high got poly hair) and insert eyes vs painted on eyes. That is where the price is coming from.
@@saragreenfire4515 Only clawdeen has poly from budget dolls, frankie and draculaura has saran. But if you want a more fair comparison, failfix is also from a relatively similar price point with articulation AND inset eyes.

So much easier for little kids to dress and a simpler face and nice hair. I love the blushing and mat lips. Ehh, $15.00 bucks sounds better. But yeah, I wonder if they will come out with simple fashion packs and shoe packs.

I finally found 3 budget RH’s yesterday. And I finally completed all Lol Omg budget dolls yesterday also. Super stoked …it was a chore to hunt them down but made my day when I finally found them going more than 7 Family Dollar stores and all these drivings. I noticed Lol Omg budget dolls don’t have shoes but RH budget dolls does. I was surprised that RH budget dolls is 2 or 3 dollars more. Maybe this is the case since RH doll have shoes - that cost more? Those blind colored boxes still sells for 10.00 each….😨😨
The budget dolls are honestly better for younger kids as the clothes would be easier to dress and change outfits.
I’ve usually paid less than that for the actual dolls by getting them in sales.😅
I like the idea of theses especially for my 5 years old who tends to have more difficulty to play with dolls with too many articulations and accessories. (Exactly what you are saying the video ) I just think the price point is just a bit too high. I’m pretty sure if they come to Europe they’re gonna price them at 20€ or more which is way too much for these

I just found them for only 16.99 in Austria, which is not too bad to be honest. I was also afraid they’d be quite a bit more
I absolutely LOVE the matte "skin" on these basic dolls!
As much as I love rainbow high dolls, the thing that always bothered me was the shiny, iridescent look on the faces, especially on the first series.
The look of the faces on these basic dolls is like porcelain! So beautiful!

With the barbie fashionista($10) and both budget lines($17,$13) monster high g3 dolls $18 is too much most parents won't really go for these...and as a collector I've gotten some rainbow high dolls as cheap as $5-10
in Australia normally a regular series doll is $50aud, they recently went up and now standard price is more often $60aud, these dolls are only $29aud and thats even cheaper than when our rh are on clearance for $30-$35 so I think these dolls are great on price and really good alternative for parents especially
In the US a regular RH/SH doll is $24-$27 and they often go on sale for much less, so it’s a really bad price for them.
Did these make it to Oz yet?

i feel like the price would be justified IF they were fully articulated. i can get a budget mh doll for less and they come with accessories and have more than the basic articulation. theyre still pretty tho so i miiight consider getting daphne and or gabriela. great review!
I agree that these budget versions are a smart idea, especially for younger kids. There is no way my 3 year old can handle a proper Rainbow High doll, even I have trouble with some of the outfits and shoes.
I love these! They remind me of what budget Barbie’s used to be in the 90s. The dolls were still high quality, you know what I mean? Like for instance the doll herself would still have nice hair, but she’d only come with shoes, dress, and a comb. On top of that the dresses would still be good quality despite being simple. Very much giving the same energy as that and I’m loving 💖
Idk if 18 bucks is a good price for a budget doll line maybe like 15 bucks would’ve been okay
$10 IMO would sell best. If they couldn;t make it for $10 I think they shouldn;t make a budget line.
@bobbysmith8095 Not really an example is that you can actually get the first Gen 3 Monster High dolls for the same price the budget dolls sell for. They are on sale.
These dolls come at a bit of an awkward time because we still remember Rainbow High dolls from a year ago, even though things have changed since then. It's hard to adjust to so much less doll for the price we paid on sale for articulated dolls with 2 outfits. Even though things have changed with inflation, I don't think these are good value. I would just wait for sales on the regular dolls, but I don't have kids to buy for.
Totally agree with everyone. Just wait for the better ones. Price should be lower for such a difference in quality

I wish at 18 dollars they kept the elbow and knee joint. but alas we can't have everything. I wish that they had made all new simple outfits for the dolls so that they look less like a knock off doll.
over here in england the newer RH dolls that don’t come with second outfits are the same price as the dolls that did have the second outfit which is interesting so i’d be curious to see how the ‘budget’ dolls would be priced if they ever make it over here
Hi Brooke! I’m a huge fan of your channel! Also an adult doll collector 😁I found all 6 the other day!! Daphne at one Family Dollar, then I decided to stop at the other store near our home just for giggles on my way home…they had Gabby, Emi, Sheryl, Georgia, and Daria at that one! One store was a combo dollar tree and family dollar. I never get this lucky! They were $18…wasn’t planning to get all of them but they were actually very stunning in person! I do miss the articulation though…feel like $18 is a bit steep….there goes my doll budget for the next few months🤣
i’m gagged these ended up at $18 in the US. In Australia we have them for $29 and we usually have dolls retail for double the price so I guessed they’d retail for $14.99, but then I saw something that they were slated to retail at $12.99? I wonder if they’ll drop the price at some point, or if they’ll be a different price depending on what retailer they come from…..

Thank you so much for showing the comparison on these slim-packing dolls along with the old version dolls. I am gagging - love those variations! It will be very cool addition for my collection. I have nearly completed slim-packaging Lol Omg dolls (I need two more to completed the sets…total altogether 11 dolls, I believe). They are not easy to find…so my hunt is on for these Rainbow version slim package dolls. Who-Hoo! I feel these slim-packing RH dolls are excellent for all kids under age 8…they were not much into poses with articulations, or even dressing them with so many details along accessories that always goes missing. 🥰🥰
I love the budget versions more, and Gabby, I love the budget hair color better, and the softer makeup look
I’m excited for these because I missed out on Gabriella and Daphne the first time around, and now if you can find them, they are expensive. Of course I hope to have their regular dolls eventually, but these will make nice placeholders in my collection until I can find them. I agree that the price is a bit high, but honestly right now pretty much everything is more expensive than it should be🤷🏻♀️
They really should have done better research before they put red laces on doc martens. Maybe I'm just an old enough punk that I still know lace code but yikes
I actually really like the Emi doll, because I prefer the more visible blush, the chosen lip colour and lighter eyebrows. When the original Emi came out, there was just something about her that didn't really intrigue me. But the budget Emi really speaks to me and I'm excited for when they'll be released in my country. I think the Daria with the light pink hair is much prettier. Maybe it's because I prefer more light pastel colored hair on darker skintones. I don't plan to get any of the budget dolls, but thank you for the informative video & enjoy your day :)

I think the msrp on these was $14 and Family dollar bumped it up. When they were leaked a few months back the fourteen dollar price was thrown around by a few people.

you could switch their heads and you can give the budget daria some articulations and give her a whole new outfit as if she's a whole new doll. while your later release daria can keep the less articlulated body and let her wear the second outfit since she's just gonna be a display doll wearing a second outfit. just my thoughts!

Daria looks so different it's almost like they made a new character. If I had a spare original body I'd head swap her, paint her lipstick a darker shade, restyle her hair, redress her, and have myself a couple of Roselyn sisters. I didn't think I'd care about these budget dolls, but there is potential.
I have been able to find Sheryl, Daphne and Georgia! But hold up on Daria! I know I have seen people post about her budget rose shoes! I swear someone in one of my doll groups had posted how they repainted her budget rose shoes so I am wondering if there are different variants of this budget?!?!

Most of my RH collection has been acquired from sales. Like $15 or less for signature dolls.
I think these budget lines are more needed in other countries than in America where we get insane clearances and sales.

As much as i love rh but the shimmer faces bother me a lot , so the budget Gabriella has a wayy more beautiful face ,i also think it's more accurate to the show . I may get her and swap the bodies
Just speaking as a collector, I want some to take off the clothes for restyles, harvest the hair for customizations, remove the makeup, and turn them into mannequins. You could display them next to the hanger rack set and put them in some extra outfits like a little shopping scene.
Also totally agree about emi’s hair, looking at the original it always registers as a magenta to me. I do love the straight up purple though, can’t wait to snip snip and put it in someone else’s head. I also love the shirt. I always hated the hoodie because to me the embroidered on jewelry thing looks kinda bad, but it works for a simple tshirt. It’s like a tuxedo tshirt, it’s less funny and feels like trying too hard if it’s on a hoodie. But that’s just a weirdly specific me thing. I also like that the printed on purple purse is removed because the basic black shirt can go with anything.
Also also I wonder why they started this with series 3. It’d make more sense to me to start with the original mains and go from there. But that doesn’t really matter lol.

I guess it's a personal taste thing but I prefer the budget doll's looks and makeup to the original ones, Sheryl's makeup is a vast improvement imo. I can understand why collectors and fans would be disappointed by these in comparison to the originals but it makes a lot of business sense for MGA to make a cheaper play line to reach more of the younger demographic and people on a budget. They're still a lot nicer than a lot of other lines out there (looking at you, Barbie)
Emi might have had some things changed a lot because she still has embroadary and the pleats.
They're more playline than collector fashion doll imo. I have paid $10 for a secondhand all peices included. The articulation is missing which is sad. For only $8 less than original i would spend the extra for quality. If these had a $12-15 price point like say a fashionista i might consider it but not for what's missing.
These would probably be good to match with the closet though as you get a budget doll and all kinds of mix and match outfits in aspect of a young child playing.

Winter break is widely considered to be the first to introduce the neck peg. I think I had first review for the twins which I was able to find prior to finding WB but WB seemed to come out first? I don’t recall it was 2 years ago but they all came out around the same time lol

Idk I don’t see the 18$ being shown in the dolls quality. Monster high used to have the beach dolls and slumber party which imo were the budget lines for 10-15 dollars depending on where you got them and now with g3 (albeit at very select stores) can find those for the same price as these…if it’s the actual dolls construction making the price go up, I’d rather they had completely got rid of the inset eyes and done maybe an exclusive budget line screening to cut cost? If they wanna get into budget dolls max is 15 dollars. They did it for dream Ella they can do it for RH.

I actually don’t mind Emi too much in terms of her face. I like the color of her lips in the budget doll and her hair color is cool. But for that price idk if I’d get her… probably not
I mentioned in a comment that this is shady business of MGA to bother with these dolls. The price point makes no sense. The dolls should be at most $8. They claim they're giving the public a fair deal but it's a rip off and I am sure people unfamiliar with RH will buy the cheaper versions not knowing there's the actual version available and then buy the wrong gift for themselves or someone else. I can only see these useful for head replacements even so the hair color and styles aren't exactly the same to the original either. It's a miss for me.

The less articulated dolls are better for making clothes, since they have less chance of being off center when taking measurements or dropping fabrics.
Honestly the Price is okay for international Audience. The OG Dolls with a different Outfit are around 45-60 Euros here and the Budget dolls are around 20 Euro. I guess most Parents would go for the Budget Dolls, bc of the Price. Sure there are Sales and Discounts but the OG Dolls rarely goes lower than 35 Euros.
I actually think they were going to be the next jr high line and they changed their minds. Maybe the jr high might get canceled and they wanted a cheap way of getting rid of the heads without committing to the full body🤔

JH has their own head sculpt and they're a different size so it doesn't seem to be that. If it is due to extra supplies I would guess it's extra hair and fabric.
Series 3 of JH was assumed when we saw new JH listings but it ended up being the series 1 and 2 special edition dolls instead (plus the twins)

Love the review but I’m not a fan of these dolls. They look so tacky and cheap compared to the originals and while I get that they’re budget dolls there are ways to make budget dolls/cheaper dolls look good.
i paid $18 for shanelle and luna together when they were on sale for $9 each. im actually glad rainbow high is falling off imo cuz theyre so big and i can relax on collecting them haha that sunny and luna 2-pack is a must have tho

Kinda gagged how much I like the new Daria! The darker monochrome hair and new lip color really suits her and almost makes her feel like a brand new doll.
Also love that Brooke uses kind language and continuously refers to these as slim-package dolls rather than “budget” which many collectors seem to use almost in a derogatory way. It’s a small thing but definitely noticed and another reason why you remain top tier and an example to follow in the doll community ❤
