THE ROLLING STONES!!! ROCKIN' & ROLLING...OVER!!

- Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching. This is the first full 4K video and, wow, is it on a great job. In the last video, Ethan witnessed a framed dump trailer rollover. We didn't get the job of uprighting that particular dump trailer, but later that week we did get to work THIS dump trailer rollover. Our customer gets off to a "rocky" start at a construction site when a dump trailer starts to get a little sideways...or decides to lay down on the job, however you choose to see it. There were mountains to climb and we couldn't take anything for "granite" on this "rock"-overy. I know, I "shale" stop with the "gravel" puns. Anyway, our crew uses our Peterbilt 389-X with a Miller Industries, Century 1150R Rotator towing and recovery unit and our Peterbilt 337 with a Century 4024, 20 ton towing and recovery unit, to try to solve this problem. Hopefully, the watch has been worth the wait!!! I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

My common analogy, "there are many ways to reach 10". I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

I appreciate how you make each recovery job a learning experience for all the guys.
I built and repaired dump trailers for over 25 years. Nice to see a really good recovery. I've dealt with more than a few units that the recovery people did more damage than the roll over. And you were lucky the hydraulic cylinder retracted, often they were damaged and it wouldn't collapse. But REALLY nice work.
I love how you always teach and give reasons why when you talk to your employees. Most bosses expect everyone to already know but every experience is different. Good Work Ron. God Bless.
And he is polite.
@@Georgiaguntraining Yes sir, he certainly is, and a great teacher!
Thanks, Ron.
Felt like a highschool for towtrucking. Nice episode!
With no traffic, no powerlines and what looks like stable ground, this is practical training for the young 'uns.
Any young aspiring tow truck operator would be extremely lucky to get to work with you.
I'm thinking about moving to America, just to learn from Ron. My off-road recoveries have improved (and probably a lot, lot safer) thanks to Ron and Casey LaDelle.
Now the only complaints I get, when doing my winching, is that I over-engineer it. My response? "It never hurts to think of Safety"
@@petermiddo Do it right the first time, so you don't have to do it again and again.
Woke up having coffee just in time for Ron ☕☕☕☕ (coffee) for you as well Ron
I tell people that I drink filtered water. I have a filter pitcher, plus I also filter water through the coffee grounds. 😁
I always love Midwest videos because they are so intriguing and also very informative I love the way Ron choose to explain every details of the work and at times takes the viewers on the journal as well good job Ron
Good to see Mike so active again.
Your patience with these young men is amazing, you are a true leader. They are blessed to have you as a mentor.
If i was in the area id love to work for this man. He cares, he undertakes, and he knows. Best wishes Ron!
I Constantly Watch Tow companies doing truck recoveries. There is 1 I will no longer watch because the owner thinks he is the best period. Maybe in his area not allaround.I have been around Tow Trucks since I was 6 yrs old and I know that you are only as good as the crew working with you. I will stick with Ron Pratt because I never see an ego, Just appreciation to the crew that is doing the work
"Gavin, where's your hard hat?"
Comes back with a pink one. LOL, I love your crew. They are all wonderful people with great humor, great personalities personalities and an eagerness to learn and work and do it RIGHT.
As always, Great job Ron and crew. You make everything look smooth and simple.
I love it how Ron always uses someone's name, rather than just being generic.
Was it Talon who once left his hard hat in the truck a in the distant past and Ron gently reminded him to fetch it?
Been waiting for this one all week
Here's a little lineman's trick Ron. Fold the tape over on itself when your done with it. That goes for the roll and whatever your taping. It just leaves you a tiny tab so you can always remove the tape from the roll and the thing you taped.
We have to do that on powerlines because of our rubber gloves and leather covers.
I promise if you get in the habit of doing it. You'll do it every time without thinking.
Yep. I'm aware of that, but always seem to forget to implement it...LOL. Just need to make a habit of it. Repetion, repetition, repetition.... Thanks and God bless.
Developed that trick for myself with packing tape. Never regretted it.
Electrician I know calls that a buddy tag..
@@RonPratt or keep a multi-tool with you :)
Not just a linesman thing where I am. Don't know too many linesman but know alot of people who do that in that sort of situation. Obviously things are different there.
The thing I love about your videos is that you take each situation and make it a learning opportunity
An almost perfect "landing" on the trailer. I'll give it a 9.95 for landing on the gravel. But 10++ rating for another safe and great job completed by Ron and his crew. Enjoy watching your videos from the Nashville, TN area. Keep the videos coming!!
I'm convinced that there's a few heavy towing and recovery business that use your videos for training purposes you are the man Ron love the videos
If there was a classroom course for this industry, I'd make use of them.
Awesome, awesome job guys!!! Ron, I think you and Mike make a great team feeding off each others ideas. As for Ethan, it blows me away his knowledge and confidence in his own ability, has grown immeasurably! Hope its OK to say, he reminds me of your dad in appearance and mannerisms. May God Bless and continue to guide you!
Morning Ron and crew
I love how Mike just gets himself right into everything and just goes for it. You guys made things right as a team. Stay safe and God bless.
Brilliant video Ron god bless to you all
Shout out to Mike. Watched his work ethic in a lot of your videos. Gets right in there, right away and doesn't mess around. Kudos!
It would be cool to have a part 2 to this video, showing how ya'll got the rig out of that spot. Another great video Ron, you're going to have one of the safest and most knowledgeable crews out there. You definitely have no worries about the next generation of the company.
You have a good team there, Ron. They'll get experience as they go. Whatever happened to Raymond, he was a really hard worker and always there on the big and heavy jobs. God bless you and all the guys at Mid West Truck. Stay safe guys!
Raymond no longer drives for Midwest Truck
It's always nice to watch professionals do what looks like a difficult job easily and efficiently. That was spectacular.
I was hoping to see how you maneuvered that rig across that culvert to the road! Maybe another time, though. . .
@Paul Crumley I wish I had kept the camera rolling for that part, because it turned out to be the most difficult part of the job. The uprighting was simple in comparison!! What I thought was going to be a simple hookup and tow turned into quite the challenge We couldn't tow the combination with the Rotator because of the narrow driveway and culvert. We used the single axle Pete and had very little weight on the steer tires. Loose dirt, loose gravel, hillside, narrow driveway, and gravity proved to be a difficult combination. We considered "split-towing" them, but the aforementioned conditions created the same problems for dropping the partially loaded trailer. We made it, but there were a few "hairy" moments. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Can you explain the “drag winch” vs all the other cables? Many thanks.
@@harveywaitchison2062 the drag winch is mounted under the boom and just like it's name implies it drags stuff instead of lifting
@@Will-ct9ww Ron doesn’t like using it. I think it sticks somehow.
@@RonPratt why not rehook to the rotator once you got the truck past the culvert with the single axle Pete?
*Ron & Crew, Now that was IMPRESSIVE.... all working together as a team... listening and learning... all comes from a great teacher, teaching your lad and the others... even Mike taking on board stuff and everyone talking it over thru out each step of the job. Glad the driver is ok.. as he sat back, keeping out of your way and just watching how it was done to get his rig back up its rubbers. AWESOME job done. Merry xmas to the whole team.*
Alway a pleasure watching you and the boys work with the knowledge and professionalism that many others can take examples from. Thanks for sharing and letting me tag along :)
I applaud your teaching the next generation the correct and safest way to do the job and not get in a hurry....... and for Mike being your right hand man at this time....
You are good at what you do and a very kind person great teacher love to work for you
Ron, you have an awesome team. The guys did a fantastic job 👏. Isn't it great to have a good set of coms?
Thanks for sharing and God bless
Just like when you were younger, just playing with your toys in the sandbox
Except you can't reach down and pick it up with one hand. Good ol' Tonka trucks and such, built to survive several generations. 👍👍
This one's a work of art there pal. This ones the primary reason I love watching you do your job. Bring those around you with you, pass on your wisdom, sir. Thanx.
Keep up the great jobs that you guys do thanks
Good to see the crew working and learning together!
Mr Pratt that was nice to see you guys in action it was great seeing you guys 😊
I love the green caterpillar that strode across your camera lens. ❤😊
What a treat, seeing the crew all working on a big job, just like the old days with Talon, etc.
Sometimes you can see history repeat itself in a good way. The people may chance but the morale and the demeanor of the manager is very warm and supportive.
Oh, my, yes. Miss Talon.
Though, Mike and Ray are very knowledgeable.
Ethan is the surprise.
Wasn't Talon Ron's son-in-law? What happen to him?
@@marc7491 Talon runs the repair shop, IIRC.
Well done on the drop of the trailer. That was a very smooth landing
Interesting to watch. A somewhat complicated, team recovery - therefore, an educational video! Mike is always the first one to get involved and dirty, I like his style.
Ethan has become such an amazing young man/operator. Keep up the amazing work Ethan. Hope y'all's day is as amazing as y'all are. Sending love and hugs from the central coast of Cali.
Another fantastic job. You all are truly blessed in your knowledge....blessings. 🙏👠👠
Good morning from Illinois! 😊 Teamwork is the best work. It's good to see the crew working together like this. Don't forget to find the pin that came out of the ring on the strap. Everyone gets an atta boy for a job well done. 👍 Stay safe and God bless.
We're looking for something that doesn't quite look right. LOL GOOD ONE ,RON. Understatement of the yr
Very great job Ron and his crew !! They make these jobs look easy. Excellent !!! GOD bless !!!!
Ron you are a very patient person teaching your guys how to do the job right I used to have a boss that would scream and yell and I would never learn so I quit and moved on
Great video. Glad you stayed safe. Thank you for it.
You are an amazing leader/mentor. You gave instructions with the reason you were doing something so they could learn. I felt like I learned a lot and I know nothing about tow trucks! God Bless
Awesome , Thanks Ron & Crew 😊
Is Talon still on the team? We miss him. Thanks for all of yourwork on the videos.
Yes talon is still on the team in one of Ron's previous videos he said talon runs the shop side of the business
Ron, happy holidays to you and your family and your crew, thank you for your continued support of those who are in need of help and assistance during a difficult time.
I enjoy watching your recovery videos and I enjoy seeing your crews working together to make sure that everyone has a safe day, from the person who attached the cable to the traffic control to the car that navigates the road around the incident scene.
Your attitude and attention to safety is always above and beyond standards very professional and very respectful.
All things considered you have been very well respected and watched over by Gods grace and respect. But your actions are also the reason that his grace is so strong, and his mercy is so powerful that those who are suffering can be calmed and loved. Thanks for your service.
I enjoy your work and tutoring towards the future of your business and those young men growing into a successful and well respected professional.
I watched your son grow up from that young boy helping you lift up the school bus for the school demonstrations to going out with the roll back solo, what a wonderful opportunity for a young man and his future.
God Bless you and your family and your friends and colleagues.
Thanks for all you do.
Stephen
A fine example of teamwork.
Thanks Ron.
Another great video. Thanks and God bless.
Great gear, great communication, great crew,, great video and narration
A great teaching opportunity, and a great teacher. Plenty of room and and a great classroom. Keep up the great work.
Good job guys, smooth as butter!!! God bless.
WOW! What a perfect training environment, wide open area, no powerlines over head, no traffic zooming past you, and no pressure of the state troopers or police asking when can we open the lanes. You really couldn't ask for a better location.
This was by far the best of you handling a team of men. You were well in charge from start to finish. This time you had the team working while you organised. Not you doing it while they watch.THE BEST YET. Warmest regards Peter T Wales UK.
Good job!!! Team work. Nobody hurt, truck stood up like a champ, big problem getting out?? Live watching you giving takes a lot over brain work. Enjoy your video y you could teach on line !!Tks GB.
Great job guys!!
Ron,
Your seasons are similar to "everywhere".
Dry, wet, blizzards, floods,
heat, ect. I giggled at the dry land remark. Thanks.
It's Great Seeing Profesionals at Work. I Like How Patient You are with the Newer Tow Members and how You Guide them in Applying the Chains and Attachments. I Like Your Channel and Have Been watching for over 2 Years.
Awesome video Ron thanks for sharing
Great video. Another good teaching time. Great work by all. Know you are proud of your team.
You do an excellent job protecting what you are towing and imparting you knowledge to your crew in a very positive way.
Job well done. Very good learning experience for the younger set. Several lines and chain ups to get the job completed. I like that the guys ask why and you explain why. As employees they don't work for you rather they work with you! A company that prays together, stays together! It shows Ron.
That’s wonderful. Set it up perfectly
Great video, Ron!! You and your team are the best!!!
Beautiful job and outstanding work. Great teamwork.
Morning Mr Ron prayers and well wishes for your family and all the employees and all involved. Have a blessed weekend
Another great and safe job guys. You the man Ron.
well done Ron and crew good job

You are amazing people! I love watching you!
That slow drop was nice! 4k video looks fantastic Ron.
Awesome as always Ron.
And God bless you and yours.

Love the videos ron, always praying for you and your family and GOD BLESS! Great job ron.
Yes!! It looks better on its wheels... done safely.... 👍👍👍👍👍... Nice team working together to make things right!!! 🙂
Always appreciate your knowledge, teaching, patience and the way you don’t ram rod stuff.
Neat to hear the back blasts when Ethan went to move that smaller truck.
Awesome job. You guys are real pros.
Great job and a great job by the crew.
Absolutely beautiful tip up job!
Well done !
Ron. You and your crew did a wonderful job.
Ron this was a good teaching experience. Great work Ron and crew.
First time I've seen the drag winch used in what seems like years!
Excellent job. Great team work. All your crew was eager to jump right in. Ron I am so glad that you let the guys do things. If it isn't going to work that way. You do not fuss or down grade them at all. That is so sweet and makes them feel important. I think Ethan liked climbing around on the top of that trailer. LOL. Great video as always. So glad you keep God front and center. May he bless you all. Merry Christmas.
WOW! That was the best one in a long time. What a great job!
🙏🙏great job.. loaded dump trailers are very tricky.. you guys are the best and very caring 🙏
Wow. Well saw one go over got a different job se type or trailer. Will all the easy jobs the Rotator has done lately it's about time he had to did some actual HARD work for a change lol. Considering just pulling the bed down it actually MOVED the Rotator now THAT my friends is a HARD PULL! A great job by everyone involved no one injured no snafus so that's ALWAYS a good thing. Also no collateral damage so I say, great job by everyone involved. Stay safe out there & my the almighty lord guide, protect & bless each one of you
Another great job done by all you guys.
Swweeeet roll Ron......!!!
Congratulations, awesome accomplishment
Ron you guys from beginning to the end did an awesome job. I couldn’t believe what a smooth landing you made with that tractor and semi. Awesome 👍❤️
Great job done by a great crew!
Awesome planning and recovery!
