1:37 “I’ve already pruned out 50-60% of the chaos” LOL!! I haven’t grown coffee before, but following all the vids you have done on coffee trees Luke, It seems coffee can be an “experience” to grow! I’m tentatively thinking of having a go myself-even if it doesn’t fruit, it looks to be a beautiful indoor plant!
I just wanted to say I've grown coffee trees for 12+ years, they flowered, fruited, I planted many of the beans and made approximately 40 vigorous saplings (which was a mistake, I was giving armloads of the things to anyone that would take them!) and yet I still learned so much from this video that I didn't know. When I started with coffee trees it was impossible to find any information on keeping them indoors so I'm delighted to see such a helpful guide! Thank you for taking the time to make this.
hey was just going to say, if you dont want to root your cuttings dont waster them. the leaves make amazing and super healthy tea, fresh or dried. Look up some stuff in Ethiopia, theyve been doing tea from coffee leaves for a millenia. It's truly amazing:) We have it all them time, I have a big tree down here in south florida:) cheers
I topiaried my coffee tree! I love it. Originally the pot had two stems but it looked unbalanced. I took out the smaller stem and removed lower branches. The tree now lives in my bedroom and is nearly at ceiling height. I've snipped off more of the lower branches and also cut the branches back a bit so we're not competing with it when getting into bed!
Luke you are exactly right indoor plants need to be pruned well especially for getting enough sun can't air flow. On a side note another good reason to grow a coffee tree inside is that it makes a nice privacy curtain 😎😎
He answer this in the coffee growing guide I believe. The long and short of the story is he "found" a bean while on a date with his then to be wife in one of those indoor growing places.
I bought my tree before UA-cam or google or even the internet took place so I had no info on how to grow it, now I have a 6 feet tall tree with a central trunk and foliage on the top. I lost all the side leaves and branches because of luck of light, water/humidity and pruning. I don’t think I can do anything about it now but I was just wondering since this tree is so resilient if I could possibly cut its trunk at a meter or so and hope it will survive 🤪 thanks for your informative video!
Not sure if it's UA-cam or new editing program but this video and the last has millisecond clips cut in throughout the videos that are very distracting. Watch closely.
Where at? I am getting annoyed by UA-cam or the editor doing that. Because they aren't in the video when I play through it in the final version before i upload it.
@@MIgardener The first one is at somewhere between 2:15 and 2:20... I slowed it down yesterday, and caught that it is a flash shot of the UA-cam thumbnail. It scared me when I first watched it because I was looking at a tree and then saw a flash of a face with teeth... I didn't know what it was until I watched again .. lol. Hope that info helps.
@@MIgardener I'll try and get time stamps for you Luke. Let's try to isolate this. I watch via a cell phone. Anyone else here watch via cell phone? I will watch on my PC and check there too. It's defiantly a UA-cam thing.
You do a good job with your videos. Thank you! I'm not into growing coffee trees, but it is fascinating watching you grow and train yours. (👍#130 and comment #18). Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA
We have a coffee tree, unfortunately we don’t know which variety but in the winter, the leaves really start drying up and falling off. We live in WA. and it’s of course indoors but it really struggles when it cools down. Is it lack of light or warmth? I worry about our water too. I just want to get it healthy. It’s really tall, maybe copping off the top will help??
It would benefit you to have someone video what you’re doing. We missed parts of the video because we couldn’t see (out of the screen) or the color was really white out. Otherwise, great info! Thank you.
Can you explain a little about how you keep the plant with artificial light? do you use a couple of bulbs, how far from the plant do you place the light? how strong is it? Love your videos, truly appreciate all your amazing advice. Thanks in advance!
Glad I found your channel, I live in California and I don't have too much sun only in the patio area for an hour. Would it be wise to have DYI green house? Always wanted to grow a coffee tree or have a farm in that matter.
Just a couple of questions-are you still trying to take this plant outside in the summer-or does it have a “permanent” summer/winter position? I imagine it would be getting hard to move it! You also said when anything gets damaged, it forks, and forks again-will the plant consider the pruning damage, and cause it to fork more?? Will the pruning set back fruiting and flowing?-I know it’s a “mature” fruiting plant, but just wondering if it would reduce the fruit? Finally, I would have thought the tree could possibly take a bit of a hit from this pruning-should the pruning be done a particular time (I am assuming ur doing this now in your spring) and, can you recommend that any specific aftercare should be done/not-ie should u fertilise? Anything else?
My coffee plant is just palm-sized tall 😂 It would be so satisfying if it grows to your tree size one day. Does it matter if I prune the leaves in Winter? I have heat on in my house.
Hello, i love your videos, i especially really loved your video about a bay tree, but it would be so helpful if you could do a video on how to grow a bay tree from cuttings. I tried multiple times, but haven’t really been succesful. Thanks for being awesome!
Question...what should I do when my dog poops in my soil? He’s been doing this for 6 months now. I’m upset because I’ve been building fertility for 5 years now. Please help.

I read the leaves were toxic.. I am surprised 😄 are you sure they’re ok for tea making?..

I bought an Arabica coffee plant at a reptile store...they are sold young for vivariums.
So sad when they are so young. Think of the parents!
Thanks for the knowledge,I need not to worry if I prune again the new shoots
Any updates on the tomato revival project?
I always love seeing the coffee tree :-)

I was going to ask if you could root them and you answered it at the end. You could use the clones for raffles possibly?
Hey man I love your videos. Keep up the good work.
I have a very young plant i bought in a 4" pot, and repotted to a 5.5". I'm looking for the earlier videos you mentioned. Thanks!
Shout out from Pinckney, MI ! Love your series!
It would be great to see on cam how you repot the coffea in its huge final pot :)
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing!
Where did you get the coffee seeds. The tree looks fabulous.

Cofffee tree looks fun i love coffee even before bed
I just bought coffee seeds from your store, the question is what size pot do I start the seed in? And at what ratio do I mix the soil? Thanks.

Once the plant is established, can new trees be propagated from cuttings?
Any idea when trifecta plus will be back in stock or a substatue I can use
The 3lb bag is back in stock just ordered some

Yeah I noticed it 3 times.
Me too .. The first one was pretty creepy!!!

Do coffee plants have their leaves start off light green and then as they grow get darken?
I am gonna go way off base with this comment. I wanted to ask why you don't have a 5lb bag of Trifecta plus available in your website ?
What is the variety coffe is that? Thank you
You do a good job with your videos. Thank you! I'm not into growing coffee trees, but it is fascinating watching you grow and train yours. (👍#130 and comment #18). Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA
Do you make new coffee plants out of them?
Question: I have a very old lovely tree that was not cared for properly. Can I take a cutting and start a new one? How do I do that?
How do you prune it to make the main stem thicker? Mine seems so wispy for a 4’ tree. I have one main stem and it’s about 3/4” thick.
Do you know when your trifecta will be restocked?

Please make a video on how to improve clumpy soil in garden beds I am having so much trouble.
Unrelated to the video, but what happens if you plant out of season? Will things just not grow? not yield? What actually happens?
I heard you get berry's on all new branch
can you propagate those cuttings
Drinking Game…each time he says “chaos”
Have you harvested any coffee?
