      So with banking having a legit system doesn't hurt at times. I've found when I'm fighting off a migraine or am in pain due to my back that using a system just makes it as if im using autopilot.
      Step up, find my marks, then do my best to correct for English or spin I need to use if I do.
      This translates across all tables Chris? I know some systems that don't work well when moving from a 7ft to 9ft table or vice versa.

    That rebound angle will change drastically depending on 1 of 2 things. Angle in like you show (diamonds help if needed) or left or right spin on cueball ( edit- into object ball) I won't bother with top or draw that's another lesson by itself. If people don't hit center cueball consecutively it will make the directions you've given seem inaccurate. They won't realize they aren't hitting center. Bar rails usually don't act correctly either. Most are not very good like home tables. Great job on angle in though. English, rails, felt, correct tip chalking, body stance, proper bridge hand and stroke all matter too. But people gotta start practicing somewhere. 👍✌️.

  • @chrisnlu
    @chrisnlu Рік тому +8

    His geometry doesn't work. When he draws a line through the three ball to the opposite cushion it's not perpendicular to the table so I don't know how he figures out where to draw the line. Also the line that intersects the two lines to each pocket doesn't intersect at a 90% line to the spot on the cushion that he hits. I was there I'd have a few questions for him!

    • @DeadWaits
      @DeadWaits 9 місяців тому

      First part, didn't get you. The first line has to be parallel to the short side of table. It looks straight, just a bit distorted by camera angle... Second part, it doesn't have to be 90° at all.. okay are you talking about the normal line? Again, it is straight, just the camera angle distorts it. Just imagine a rectangular plastic bottle, cut with a sword in a slant. The bottom of the bottle is the opposite rail, the higher edge is the pot, the lower edge is the object ball...

    Faster the speed, the shorter the angle because the cushion compressed more. Greater the outside english on the cue ball, the broader the angle.

      @@allmight6645 - short answer is that English on the cue ball will transfer some English to the object ball. So Yes, English will change the angle the ball comes off the rail

    Robert Byrne illustrated this technique 30+ years ago. (It's certainly much older than Byrne even). How can you take credit, for something that you had nothing to do with?

    • @lauriehaley8591
      @lauriehaley8591 Рік тому

      umm who claimed credit?? Most pool tutorials are of methods that were discovered by others just like any thing else being taught just because you teach someone how to add and subtract it doesnt mean you claim it as your own see how that works :)

    still cool...but might been funnier if u had missed.
    liked the good geometry lesson. rather useful in any game of pool.

      No side spin necessary. It's a very old technique. I learned it over 30 years ago.
      If you're a pool player, look up Robert Byrne. He wrote many excelent (if not the best) books on pool & billiards. (Using the technical input of mathematician/engineer/pool instructor Bob Jewett.)
      This technique is in one of them. Either the Standard, or Advanced book, by Byrne. I cant remmeber which now. It's been many years ago, that I read them.

    Does this work with snooker??

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  Рік тому

      Yes. The main difference between table sizes would be how hard to hit the bank because of the distance the object ball would have to travel, but the measurement techniques would remain the same.

    Who's going to remember all that? Lol. Still cool though.

      After enough practice, you can visualize all of the lines. That's pretty much what I do now.

    Yh ima just wing it

  • @michaelrutledge7048
    @michaelrutledge7048 Рік тому

    But that point you hit on the rail isn’t the point where the two lines intersected.

  • @513morris
    @513morris Рік тому

    But the speed it hits the rail effects the angle it'll come off the rail.
