Wow! That was a lot of wood! Great job stacking it all, Paul. The orange chicken looked delicious! I so agree about sitting down at the table to eat. It makes it very special when you do so and it is a nice time where you can just relax, focus on your meal, have a conversation if eating w/ others, and unplug. Dressing up the table too can be fun. It just makes it that little extra special.

My mama always told us kids that the wood keeps you warm twice - once when you stack it and once when you burn it.

The chicken looks great ! I use crock pot or outside grill all summer it’s so hot where I live😎. I really enjoy this type video because sometimes I learn a new way to save or sometimes it just validates other people live this way and we are in a little club.🥰

Reminds me of the time when I was a kid that my mom ordered sawdust for the horse stalls. Smallest order was "4 cords" so my mom said okay, not knowing how much that was. They dropped it off in front of the barn by the trap door that stores the sawdust. We came home from school and saw this MOUNTAIN of sawdust! We spent that whole summer shoveling it into the barn :-)

My family live in other cities,in the U.S,and overseas, but we talk about it alot,we all sit down at the dinner table and eat there whither there is one family member or more family members, we are eating at a table.its a family thing we were made to do and taught to do, we really enjoy family time when we all are at the dinner table together, because most of my sisters, and brother have to travel a distance to be with our mother .

That’s a lot of work. I have a dishwasher and it runs twice a day. I have to start cutting back when our hydro prices increase. Our government lowered our hydro rates until the end of October. I’ve been taking advantage of the lower rates and doing laundry and using the dryer. I will go back to hanging clothes on drying racks

I love that you have a regular fireplace. My grandma installed a gas fireplace for her home years ago and one Christmas upgraded mine. She told me back in the "olden days" ash in the fireplace was such a mess and getting the soot cleaned was a chore. Gas fireplace was welcomed by her and my grandpa in their older age. They were able to enjoy the fire with the turn of a key and no clean up. after years of having mine I do feel sad not having a natural one. We do makeup w/our own fire pit outside and being in Southern California by the beach we dont have brutal winters so we enjoy it pretty much all year. Ugh, nothing compares to the smell and the crackling though of the stoves or fireplaces huh?

It's ok to share the snow with your neighbors to the south. My area really got cheated last winter so hopefully we will get alot of snow this time around. Also, congrats to Diane!!! Hi Emmy,, loved this video. That was some giant chipmunk hotel! lol Wow! I'm going to make that hummingbird mix and hang it outside my kitchen window. I don't have a dishwasher either. I had a full sized portable one for awhile but it just got in the way and I really don't have a lot of dishes so I sold it to a couple for their elderly mom whose portable DW had croaked. Such a great video, Emmy and Paul! I love your energy and zest for life. You are so encouraging, and during this awful political season, combined with the virus, your videos are so welcomed and needed! Congrats on getting all of the wood stacked! What a big job!! When will it start to get cold enough to need the wood? I know you get the colder weather sooner than we do here in the center of the country. Your chicken looked delish-Im wondering if the meat could marinate in the sauce in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before cooking it? What do you think? Love that you feed the birds! They’re so precious! And congrats to Diane! Blessings to you both!
