How to color White, Yellow and Brown skin tone with colored pencils

Easy tutorial about how to color 3 different ethnic types with skin colors - Light, Yellow and Brown. I challenged myself and used the same image portrait for all 3 skin colors!

Colored pencils used in the video: Prismacolor Premier
You can use any other pencils brand, just pick colors similar to the ones I am showing in the video.
What is important when we color skin:
Always start with using a very light pressure on your colored pencil and apply several layers of colors before you start to blend. I usually blend colors with a lighter colored pencil than the below color layers.
Keep cleaning the tip of your colored pencil, especially when you are using a lighter tone over darker ones. You can wipe the tip of the pencil on a rag or just use your fingers :)
Do not forget to use contrast - darken the darkest parts several times - usually, the darkest part of a face is under the chin and around the face.
After I am happy with my coloring, I usually renew the eye pupils with a black thin liner, I apply the eyeliner and mascara again :) and then I place one single little white dot in the eye pupil with a white Posca pen. That adds a little highlight in the eyes and it looks good.

Thank you for your kind words! The paper actually isn’t any special brand. It’s a 190 gsm paper I bought in a local store. It isn’t especially smooth neither grained, so good for demonstration that you don’t need a really special paper. What you need is to find the good combination of your colored pencils and type of paper they work on 🌷
