With much respect to my Indian friends but the concept of university derived from Academy which is a Greek construct and invention. There are clear archeological findings more than 5000 years old of a civilisation in the Megalopolis valley. The bones of a feasted elephant had marks of a use of a tool made by opsidian a mineral that has been acquired from the island of Milos (only place in Greek territory that has it). A volcano formed island. Later on those people have traveled to Crete where they created the civilisation of Minoans.

For clarification, this list is only based on archaeological findings until now…
Indian civilisation maybe much older than described here and according to the hindu scripts, it is over 200,000 years old. But since no archaeological evidence is found from that period yet, we cannot say it is completely true.
For now humans have managed to find no other civilization older than Egypt and recent research says Mesopotamia is older, but we may find out in the coming years when technology has developed considerably.
The sunken Dwarka probably predates Egypt aswell.
The Saraswati river civilization mentioned in religious texts of India was considered mythological until new research confirms the existence of dried river bed of Sarswati river from Himalayan to Caspian sea. It confirms Indian civilization to be at least 8000 years old!

They even calculated radius of other planets, yes radius of planets (in the book surya-siddhanta).
As every date is followed by astronomical observations of the same, some of the dates found today are as old as 8000 BC.
Rigveda mentions of Saraswati river, which was furious, powerful, and always caused floods. Today science have found out that Saraswati river began to dry up around 6000 BC. Rigveda's description shows the time when Saraswati river was not drying up. So it should be atleast, atleast 6000 years old.
