Very Helpful!! Thank you for teaching how to do the squat!
No problem Joey :)
Can you make a video on how to run after recovery from back issues
- Aryaman
The running technique will be different for everyone.. Are you looking for sprinting specifically? or like marathon running?
Excellent video as always Rami. I’ve been recovering from a L5/S1 disc bulge. Noticed a strange thing in the gym today. Before doing the Big 3 by Dr. Stuart McGill, I did a couple sets or one legged lunges and squats. No weight, just my 240lbs body weight. I almost immediately noticed lower back pain relief after. Any idea why this could be? The only conclusion I could come to is that after I injured my back I stopped doing anything involving strengthening my lower back and glutes. Because of this I know they are weak.
#5 is definitely what caused my disc issue. Tight hamstrings killed my form. Forced me to round my back. Going with a wide stance did help.
I'm 6'5 have 2 herniated discs and a partially torn acl. You saying to avoid ice and use heat really helped me recover faster. After 1.5 years I was finally able to squat 200lbs for 3 . Not body weight yet but I'm getting there. Thanks for the info !
No problem Silver! Happy to hear :)
Great content Rémi, thanks. I'm Into my 4th month recovering from disc bulges in lambar spine, pain is mostly gone, so is it safe to perform air squats (without weight), few sets a day to strengthen the quads? My knees are not doing well lately. Thanks
- Dwayne
Depends. Some people it is. Some people it isn't. If it's causing pain, avoid it. But if you don't have a pain, it would be a good exercise to perform.
How you doing Remi, I unfortunately can’t squat anymore. Lunging is in my future. My herniation is too broad, and I would continuously flare it up trying to squat. Question though, during your battle, how were your muscle spasms? Inflammation sucks, but my spasms come out of no where and feel like they swell my whole lower back up. One day they aren’t terrible, followed by a day where I can barely move.
- Jason
Incredibly bad. Couldn't sleep it was so painful. But the muscle spasms were generally a result of the area getting so inflamed from poor movement habits. Once, I fixed my movement and avoided pain-triggers, the spasms were gone.
@@RemiSovran thank you Remi. I really do appreciate your feedback. Stay busy 💪
Remi in your rehab did you do any stretches?
Because my physico therapist recomend me some hamstring stretches for my heriated disc l4 l5
- Pradheep
I did a few mobility stretches for the hips. Hamstrings are one area I'd be very careful with stretching.
@@RemiSovran can I do hamstring stretches with less intensity it's okay?
Hi Remi i've saw some of your videos they are very helpful however I have a doubt when you had the herniated disc did you ever had to take a steriod inyección during your recovery?
Hey Alexis, Glad the videos are helpful. And no, I never did.
Thank you!!!! I've still have hope I will keep doing the exercises that you recommend. I've been having a hard time at the beginning of the year. I've been diagnosed with a herniated disc and bulging disc during work . Fortunately, I have to resign by the end of the month my job . However, seeing your story gives me the spirit and hope even though the Dr. Offer me inyección I refuse I've been through a lot I'm 23 after I graduated high school things got on my way 2 surgeries, 2 procedures, 3 times covid that I am vaccinated, I had to remove my wisdom teeth all 4. God bless you, Remi. I swear I own you a lot
Hey Remi is it better to use heat or ice on the lower back with a herniated disc for a lingering flare up of one month?
- Vincent
Heat usually works better I'd say :)
