Play in, though PATSFO would prefer not b/c they have two lottery picks in 2025. Those picks and the core of VW-Sochan-Castle-Vassell is the core the Spurs want to build a dynasty over the next 10 years.
Notice how the players on the Spurs are not the "grew up in the streets" mentality. They don't have that toxic ego like. Remember Stephen Jackson, he was a nightmare to coach in the Spurs. That's why he was traded.
people are gonna be mad in a few months you're right team chemistry is getting better everyday we can already see glimpse of the old school Spurs with Duncan Gino et Parker ! and Wemby is gonna do everything he can to win, he will never give up or became a drama queen and ask for a trade he's not that kind of guy !
Team is gelling really well thanks to the veterans and a new collective ambition. Vic doesn't have to go 30 / 10 / 5 and 5 blocks every night and that's says a lot about the growth. He can pick and choose the right weapons from his arsenal to help his team win : that's the leap he's trying to make. Make plays on both ends when it matters. And boy am I here to witness it. GSG from France. Good content and very fair point on noticing the Spurs have not faced many eastern conf teams besides... Washington where Vic scored 50 :D
Well, I think the thing about Wemby's blocking numbers dropping a bit has to do with the opponents trying to lure him out of the paint on defense, and especially players thinking it twice before trying to go at the rim when he's close. Many times you see players close to the rim, and against any other player they would try to score, but against Wemby they are like "hell no!!!" and pass the ball or keep dribbling it away from him 😂
Exactly. People assume that his block numbers are automatic going up. Nba players are not all dumb you see. They don’t factor in that they have witnessed Wemby for a year already and are gameplanning how to attack against him. And really how can you put up block stats when there’s nothing to block in the first place cause players are not openly challenging him like they did last yr. But don’t get me wrong. Looking beyond the stats it just tells you how he deters all these shot attempts.
A bit unfair to judge Wemby on his blocks numbers. If you watch games, players just barely try him anymore, and when they do he doesn't always block it sometimes he just makes them miss with a good contest. I think over time people will learn to avoid shooting while Wemby is around which might reduce his blocks numbers, but not his defensive impact
He's up to 43.2 percent from the perimeter on 11.9 attempts over his last eight games. For perspective, those are like prime Steph Curry numbers. He's also the best and most impactful defender in the world. Besides all that, his game still looks raw. Even with this kind of numbers he still is a 20 years old sophomore. There's room to grow, and at this rate, I don't really know what he's looking like in his prime.
He will also shoot more free throws. He will learn how to get more fouls. Today he is only attempting 3.6 FT/G (85%). Players like Gianis and AD are attempting 10 and 9 FT/G.
That's just not true. Look at his actual games. He misses way more than he makes. Imagine being 7 foot and scared af to go to the paint with the real monsters
@@Jaysolatehe’s shooting 42.9% from 25-29 feet out right now - leading the NBA from this distance in accuracy and 2nd in attempts. He’s still trying to find the 20-24 foot range as he’s shooting 26.7% in that range. He started the season pretty rough but he’s really been finding the rhythm this month.

The thing about this team is that even if a starter is out like victor the bench seems to try a little harder and every game I feel there is always someone stepping up that is not only wemby
Keep in mind the Spurs have also been banged up all season with their #2 guy Vassell just coming back this past week and now sochan is out. A lineup of Paul Vassell Champagnie Sochan Wemby could easily win 46+ games if they stay healthy. And that means you suddenly have a bench featuring Castle Keldon and Barnes actually making the Spurs 8 deep. 9 if Branham continues to improve but the jury is still out on him.
The Play-in seems probable if they can all get and stay healthy. The actual Playoffs seem possible but unlikely in the heavily competitive West. In the 2026-27 season the Spurs will not only make the playoffs but be genuine title contenders.
To answer you last question, i have no doubts concerning Wemby or CP3, it's the others that I'm concerned about, they are young and want to prove themselves but it often translates into hero balling.
Im a spurs fan! The reason wemby went up in points and all that is because we were so far down in the standings that other teams didnt give a f.. yes we beat denver and maybe messed upbtheir playoff spot but i assume they didnt expect to mych fight either until they were in it... if we can hit a 10th.. playin seed this year id be happy... no c@stle is the man!
even if you have a generational talent, you need other volume scorers to maintain the wins. castle and julian are keeping that pace, if not speeding it up, whenever wemby and cp3 are off the court even if their defense drops off a little. all young except cp3 and are building a winning team. we'll see what pans out but if trades throws this team off balance, it would be pretty tragic.
Old school nba fans/players should not watch today's NBA!! They're stuck in the past!! And saying today's players can't plays the old games!! They're so dumb!! They don't want to admit how skilled todays players are..

Sochan is not good for Wemby
CP3’s impact on the Spurs needs to be talked about
