Great car and video John! Those Elements are so cool. I'm looking to buy one, but they are all such high mileage around where I live. I'm just waiting on the right one to pop up for sale and I'll get it. However, I am also considering at CRV, but my 1st choice is a Element, so hopefully a good one will come around. :)
I don’t have any paint chips, but it did get totaled after I got hit by a garbage truck! I had to paint a hood and door for it. But I’ve been painting for a long time. It also got hailed on twice and is full of dents! Hard to see in the video, but thank you! I do try to keep good care of it. The deflector on the hood keeps the chips away, I put that on the day I bought it.
Did you notice a change in the handling after adding the Rear adjustable arms. The spec on the camber of the rear wheels seems to be -1.8/-0.3. My son's 2006 we just got with 170k seems to ride with an excessive amount of negative camber. Many say that Honda designed it that way for handling. What are you set at on the camber?
After it got to the point that the dealer couldn’t get in spec, I put them on and just had them realign it to factory settings. But, yes, after driving it so long with negative camber I could definitely tell the difference. And it wasn’t expensive. Plus when I would load the vehicle with the original control arms it made it even worse. So definitely a must-do upgrade. Plus tires last longer.
Thanks! Just regular washings. Believe it or not, I don’t use anything fancy or expensive. Just Meguier’s car wash soap and spray wax. Once a year I clay bar it. That’s it! Just gotta keep up on it.
No, it already has a high center of gravity and I use it to drive back and forth to work and as a utility vehicle. Rarely ever sees off road. I did lower it once and after a week I put it back to stock height. I agree they look cool though. I’ve seen some wicked rides especially with the E Camper, but I wouldn’t want to drive them on an every day basis.
@@C3Mods Ahhh Good point..I am moving to Arizona In October and getting an Element to Make into a camper car..Probably Shouldn't lift it any....Just get the AWD version
@@tallmandan3782 I think it’s actually closer to $5k. But yeah, AWD. That’s what I got. But it’s Honda’s smart AWD. The rear transfer case only engages when the front wheels start to slip. We also have a Pilot that’s true 4WD and has a killer 4 low. That’s what we take off road or camping. I don’t know why more people don’t. You see 4Runners, Land Cruisers, Jeep etc, but never a Pilot.
I really like your mods. I couldn't get hold of the headlamps on amazon. If u can give me direct link to the item. Thanks . While at it also front bumper n grills. Basically all direct links 😀
I don’t really have any direct links because I bought them off Amazon. The headlamps are AmerILite brand. You can go to their store on Amazon and search for them or Google them. The grilles are GrillCraft H1200-01B MX Series Grille Upper/Lower Insert Kit Steel Mesh Pattern Black Powder Coat Top Finish MX Series Grille Upper/Lower Insert Kit. Also bought off Amazon. Again, you can Google GrillCraft and see if they have a web site. The front fascia is a genuine Honda part. Part number 04711-SCV-A80ZC
I didn’t do a video on the armrest. It’s pretty basic. Take one bolt out and put another one in. A lot of times I’ll ask the parts guy if he would copy the service manual pages for me. He always does.
What are your thoughts on having the 225/75 vs 235/70 tires on the stock rims? I am in the process of looking to replace these tires with cooper discover at3s and I can see that the 75s are clearly taller tires and slightly narrower, but I want to know if that will decrease the overall handling vs having the 235s on it.
They have to offer an affiliate program for you to make money on UA-cam for someone’s products. It’s based on content, how long you’ve been doing it and followers. It’s a hassle. I just do it to cause it’s fun and to help others.
@@juniormintaddict Look at the info on the packages the bulbs come in at the auto parts store. They all lost the brightness (lumens) and how long they last compared to others. I have spend hundreds on bulbs, especially for my Honda Pilot that has at total of eight if you include the fog lamps.
I have actually sold it. Too many cars! It has about 75 cubic feet of space with the seats out and about 25 cubic feet with the rear seats in position. I liked it because of the tall ceiling. I have actually had motorcycles in it.
May I ask where did u get that brake kit from? Also have you considered a k&N drop in filter? I’m not sure if it will give this brick better torque when driving at high speeds above 90 mph
@@markdesilva7207 Much better! The calipers are stock and I use ceramic brake pads. Definitely better braking. Especially on my wife’s Pilot. That’s. 6000lb vehicle and I used the ceramic carbon rotors on it.
New sub. Damn dude u r so cool. I gotta get one now. Love that vette too. U really take pride in your vehicles. I even like your running shoes. Brooks?
I have always used some type of plastic restorer since the day I bought it. Usually Armor-all or Meguirer’s Back to Black. It was always garaged too which helps a lot. After it started to get old I used Black Magic. It think it had a picture of a Jeep on it. I always put some on after every wash.
Just out of curiosity. How important is having the proper engine air filter? Asking bc normally Honda recommends owners stick with oem brands and the air filter being an oem item from them I want to know how does it compare to after market air filters? In particular, I’m referring to STP, puralator, FRAM. I have just changed mine for an STP air filter and as I did my research I cannot find any reviews on this brand air filter? It claims to filter 4x of microns and debris but only 90% of it! Am I doing any harm to my engine? Should I swap it out asap?
@@C3Mods thnkyou so much boss☺️☺️☺️ did u change coil overs too? I see it become lower? What did u do how it become look slammed? Please advise again thnks so much🥰
@@mjdstv I had ordered a set of lowered coil overs from Maxpeedingrods and was very disappointed. They did have adjustable damper, but no rebound. After I had them installed, one of the shocks failed and destroyed itself. Luckily, I got them from Amazon and got my refund. It rode horrible, but they were cheap and that’s what you get when you buy junk. I’m sure there are better products out there that will give a decent ride, but I just put all my stock stuff back on. Hey I really like your Honda Element. I have an 03 Element and it’s a great truck overall but the only downside is the performance aspect on it where I cannot easily go above 90 mph if needed. Have you reached top speed on this Element? I’ve only done 90 mph. Also how much better does the element handle with with 18” sc wheels? Any improvement in handling in terms of cornering ability? Is it a lot more stable at high speeds?
Yes, the wheels improved the handling significantly, but it still suffers from lack of power. New sway bar bushings and links also helped. I redline shifts all day driving it but don’t really get into upper highway speed. We’ve taken both our Elements on cross country trips many times and it’s just too much of a wind pusher to drive comfortably above 85-90 mph. Especially with a cross wind. We have an 08 Pilot for road trips now that cruises very easy at high speed. I just ordered 18”s for that as well.
John Villotti C3 Mods wow that is impressive to hear. Powerful is a really big downfall on this car. Well how many miles on your element? I recently poured a cataclean cleaner into my tank and now the throttle response in every speed in superb and my element has 155k miles. Also in regards to the handling, this is going to sound silly that I ask this but on this site, in which I will post a link, there are performance specs that grade the element in performance. As you can see, the element gets a 5/10 in the handling department. Provided that these are factory performance numbers. My question to you is how much of an improvement has the handling gone up compared to the original 5/10 score it received? Here is the link to the performance: consumerguide.com/used/2003-11-honda-element/
@@markdesilva7207 I have always driven my E to the absolute limit. I always take entrance and exit ramps at maximum speeds, and that was with the 16” wheels. I just had all new suspension bushings installed and well as engine and trans mounts, sway bar bushings and links and with the 18”s and lower profile tires it feels way tighter. I’m talking about 70-80 mph on and off ramps. As far as ranking it, it it was a 5 before it would rate it more of an 8 now. I’ve done nothing to it other than rims and tires. Everything else is all stock except the adjustable rear camber links. That also helps to put more camber in, but not a lot. I think it’s 1 or 2 degrees more than stock.
John Villotti C3 Mods so ur telling me this car handles exactly like a sports car? Say a 2006 Mazda 3 or a new 2016 civic(possibly the si)? Most people will say this is NOT a sports car
@@markdesilva7207 I would go as far as to say that, I’m just saying it handles better than I did. It’s still too heavy, underpowered and a wind pusher. But fresh suspension, better brakes and bigger wheels/low profile tires make the Element more than it was. I did upgrade the brakes and have new ball joints and tie rod ends so I’m very comfortable thrashing on it. But it’s definitely not in the same league as the cars you mentioned. Just better than it was.
@@Crx018 LEDs in halogen housings glare and blind everyone else on the road while giving a marginal increase in output over a proper job. Installing LED/HID in housings designed for halogen bulbs is a hack, peasant way of “upgrading” the headlights. When in actuality it’s a downgrade over doing things the correct way which isn’t even hard or expensive. Halogen headlight housings require halogen bulbs for best output. You can’t aim glare. They put out pretty much all foreground output which isn’t really useful as a headlight.

Hope you find one!!
I actually sold mine with 250k on it for $6600. You’ll be hard pressed to find one with less than 100k on them. It is a Honda, and they run forever.
your element looks brand new!! i just bought mine 2007, have u ever fixed paint chips on yours? your wheels look amazin
I own a black 07 element with same rims and im thinking of platic dip them soon (black)
I’ve heard of that! Sounds cool. Should protect them forever! I take mine off in the winter and put the 16s back on.
I love my 03 element
That is a really clean vehicle 👌
Thanks!
That paint looks exceptional for the car age, how do you keep it so shiny?
Thanks! Just regular washings. Believe it or not, I don’t use anything fancy or expensive. Just Meguier’s car wash soap and spray wax. Once a year I clay bar it. That’s it! Just gotta keep up on it.
Those rear cambers makes a big difference?
Yes, as far as handling. Also, the factory pieces wear out and there’s no rear camber adjustment on the factory rear suspension.
Where you got them from .Nice!@@C3Mods
@@ari1234. I think I found them on Amazon. Not very expensive.
Did ya ever think of putting a small 2 inch lift? I seen a few and it looks nice
@@C3Mods That Ecamper would be amazing IF I could get it done for $2000..I think it's like $4000 isn't it?

Do you have any link to follow? I would like to buy the arm rest in my 2005 element like you did in yours
I looked on Honda OEM parts websites and couldn't find them but I would love one too!

Wider tires always add better handling, it’s just a matter of personal preference and how you will use your car.
Considering purchasing an Element. Can you have the tailgate down and still close the lift gate to haul lumber?
Yes, but you need to strap it down

Can you suggest which LED bulb will brighten up these headlights?
@@juniormintaddict I've been really happy with my Morimoto bulbs in my stock headlight housings.
Morimoto makes excellent products. Put them in my son’s C6

can you fit 8x4 drywall/plywood?
No, it’s just shy of 4 feet wide. I use the roof rack I put on later with a 4x8 sheet of ply wood underneath.
Hello , do you still have your element ? I’m looking at one nearby to buy . Could you give me any information on the depth of the cargo space ? Thanks
I have actually sold it. Too many cars! It has about 75 cubic feet of space with the seats out and about 25 cubic feet with the rear seats in position. I liked it because of the tall ceiling. I have actually had motorcycles in it.

What did you do to get your textured panels dark(non faded). Mine are fades and when I do put something on them, it doesn’t last long
I have always used some type of plastic restorer since the day I bought it. Usually Armor-all or Meguirer’s Back to Black. It was always garaged too which helps a lot. After it started to get old I used Black Magic. It think it had a picture of a Jeep on it. I always put some on after every wash.
That panels are also pretty cheap. You can buy them for less than $100 a piece on Amazon.

I’m sure Honda is just trying to sell you a Honda filter. I use K&N on everything.
John Villotti C3 Mods any noticeable performance gains with the k and n drop in?
@@markdesilva7207 Not really. Just peace of mind.

Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear it. Cars are crazy expensive now, new or used! Good luck on your search.
Very nice. I have a 2009 for sale if anyone is interested.

Installing LED/HID in housings designed for halogen bulbs is a hack, peasant way of “upgrading” the headlights.
