Xiao Talks: 500 Years of Christ in Philippine History (for San Carlos Seminary)

In celebration of the 500 years of the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines, I was invited to give a historical talk on the theme "500 TAON NG PANANAMPALATAYA NG PILIPINO KAY KRISTO: Isang paglalakbay sa nakaraan" for future priests of the San Carlos Seminary last 16 February 2021. I talked about how the Christian Faith was claimed as our own by our ancestors and how our faith and the teachings of Jesus Christ influenced our struggle for freedom and the creation of the nation. In the end, it concludes that we should celebrate 500 years of Christianity because it has become part of who we are.
This was the second time the talk was delivered. The first one was for the seminarians of the Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary on 30 January 2021, my first face-to-face talk during the COVID-19 pandemic in eleven months.
Two weeks prior, I was in Metro Manila with only a weak pocket WiFi, so this became my very first webinar as speaker for a long time because I already returned home to Tarlac.
