  • On the second day of our trip to Toba Ise, we checked out of Kisara Bettei, the restaurant we stayed at this time, a little early and headed to visit Ise Grand Shrine.
I knew there was a place I needed to go to before visiting Ise Shrine, so I decided to head there first by bus.
That is Futami Okitama Shrine, famous for the power spot Meotoiwa.
Futami Beach, where Meoto Iwa is located, is considered a ``sacred beach,'' and it has been an ancient custom to purify yourself here before visiting Ise.
After that, we took a bus from Geku to Naiku, and for lunch we had Ise Shima's specialty tekone sushi set meal and Ise udon at ``Ebiya Daishokudo'' near the Naiku entrance.
My body was cold after visiting the Geku, so I toasted with hot sake and Coco with orange juice.
Ebiya had a wide variety of menu options, so I was impressed, but here I chose the classic menu. This is the correct answer; simple is best!
The tekone sushi had an exquisite seasoning with plenty of pickled bonito, and the Ise udon had a unique fluffy texture with a slightly sweet sauce that was also exquisite.
I even wanted to come back to Ise to eat this.
Ebiya had the best value for money and I had a very satisfying lunch. (Total 5621 yen for 2 people)
It was Coco's second time visiting Ise Jingu, and it was my first time visiting Ise Jingu, but there were a lot of things to keep in mind.
First, there is a custom and order in which to visit the shrines.
I thought it would be easier to visit Futami Okitama Shrine (Meotoiwa), which we visited this time, by researching in advance the custom of purification, the order of visits from Geku to Naiku, and the order of visits from Goshogu to Betsugu. .
Next, make sure to have plenty of coins.
There are surprisingly many points to visit, so I thought it would be a good idea to have some coins ready.
Finally, the pollen problem at Ise Jingu!
    I suffered from this...
I have always suffered from cedar hay fever, but when I visited Ise Shrine this time, I was suffering from a much more severe illness than when I was in Tokyo.
A large cedar tree that is over 700 years old stands tall at Ise Grand Shrine.
I have heard that when a cedar tree becomes old, it scatters a lot of pollen, probably because of its instinct to encourage offspring to flourish.
Maybe it's because of this, but I realized that people with hay fever need to be careful.
I should have taken Allegra...I regret it...
