What is so sad is that the weather is not always like this. You were very fortunate to experience such great weather. What is really exciting is to have a low cloud cover and jet below them!
Thank you so much for uploading this today. Even though this video was brief, I strongly enjoyed watched it. Watching the gorgeous green hills while you were at cruising around altitude captures beauty that truly stands out.
In college in the late 50s I used to fly Los Angeles to Portland and the plane would stop in both Oakland and San Francisco so between those two would be my shortest flight though I'm sure you couldn't buy that segment.
Fuel burn on this segment must be high since jet engines work efficiently at high altitudes--wonder if Alaska makes any money flying to these seemingly off-the-grid towns? Its possible that Alaska may receive either state or federal subsidies to cover their cost---my shortest flight ever was years ago when Continental Airlines had their "Houston Proud" shuttle between IAH-HOU,flown by a DC-9 10 model, cost was about $30 each way but free for connecting pax,I made a roundtrip just for the experience, fantastic way to have an aerial 'tour' of central Houston
Gorgeous video views at the low flight elevation! As a kid I remember taking a similar short flight from Moline, Illinois to Peoria, Illinois on a 737. Maybe it took 20 minutes? Probably less. Super short flights are their own type of fun.
Serious overkill on that equipment. I'm surprised that they don't have either Skywest or Horizon fly it with one of the smaller ERJ-175s. edit: Flew it in MSFS with an FSS ERJ-175 - took longer to start up than to fly it.
Next flight up Wrangell to Ketchikan and Ketchikan does have a secure terminal facility and Chris gets popcorn inside that terminal and the only way to get to that airport is by boat from the city!!! If Chris booked just the Southern Milk Run, he would've had to do two bookings, the first one the Southern Milk Run to Ketchikan then the second one Ketchikan to Seattle like theplanesguy and QFS Aviation first four legs in one class last leg in another class suchas first class then economy or economy then premium economy
United once had a flight on their timetable from SFO across the bay to OAK! In a stretch DC8!
As you say, videos doesn't make justice for what were looking! I hope to be there very soon!! Awesome video and work!!!!!!
That was an awesome hop, subscribed 👍
2 flights a day. The morning jet and the afternoon jet. I LOVED living there!
I have flown the 🥛 milk 🥛 run on Alaska and found it wonderful. I might do it again one day.
Wow, that's pretty short for a 737. Interesting route!

I fly on that flight all the time
I'm jealous man, for one I have always wanted to go to alaska, but just living there seems amazing..

My shortest flight was 30 minutes from Huntsville to Atlanta on Delta’s MD90.
Same.
Looks like the perfect place to live!
Minor correction to text on screen at 7:42. It's the Stikine river, not Strikine. No R.
Thanks for this vid ❤

nice video you should go to atlanta then Paris with the 787 Air France my shortest flight was from atlanta to Washington DC
barfy!! i been in some TUR-BU-LANCE!!!
Excellent trip report Chris! Dang, this would be equivalent of say Dayton to CVG! Also, no COVID rankings?😸😻😸
That just like in the early 70s Braniff San Antonio to Austin. Then Dallas.
"Gasp - Do not touch me" 0:41
That sounded quite concerning.
Wow, great video! Thanks for sharing.

I believe AK is a part of the EAS system where the govt subsidizes flights to small towns from hubs.
People don’t believe me when I tell them the “Houston Proud” shuttle was a thing! I’m so glad someone remembers it besides me!
Something about the fact that they fly a 737 on such a short route is insanely cool to me..
It’s crazy. Better than taking boat between two cities I guess as in roads connect them
But a 737 is awesome. Aren’t they in the milk run route though
Shortest flight for me was about 2 hours

My family and I always get this flight and it always says we could upgrade to first class for some amount of money but it’s not worth it😅
My shortest was 51 mins KCAE-KATL Boeing 717-2BD
I watched the whole thing. This is short. Great video!
Did you know that the Petersburg and wrangle flight is the shortest commercial flight in America
Love your vids keep it up

The 737 is better for cargo. Lots of that on those remote routes with no road access.
@@viscount757 A 200-combi version? Too true. But you need runway enough to come down fully loaded.

Can you just be quiet?!
@@liflyer0413 why are you replying to all my youtube comments
did anyone else hear that " gasp, do not touch me"?
14 minutes on a jet wow, shortest flight on a jet for me was 18 minutes
Crazy how people live in small towns with less than 5,000 ppl :D
its cold in Alaska🏃♂️
This flight is so short you probably were in Class E uncontrolled airspace a ton especially during this milk run
the flight is even shorter if you took off and landed to the east meaning it would be just a 10 minute flight
Big hands 👀
