  • I had 5 minutes before the 5.34 train to Shoeburyness, and the thought occurred to me: Not many films of Upminster on You Tube!
This is the view from outside the c2c railway station at Upminster in Essex, England.
Hornchurch has a wonderful church with a tall spire, the 'international' viewers may like to know that there is a 'war grave' there, where amongst various British and Commonwealth airman there also lies the American pilot, Sanders-Draper, killed whilst flying a Spitfire in the Royal Air Force.

There is no Upminster in Essex which is why you couldn't find it. Upminster, London is very real though.

Care to explain why my post says Essex and not London then?

@@Sillimant_ it is in the historic county of essex, so many consider upminster to still be in essex. legally it is not anymore though.

'Zig Zag' lines either side of a pedestrian crossing, mean no parking/overtaking and such. The approach to crossings are a bit 'sacred' in England, too many pedestrians get knocked down by impatient motorists.

It’s a warning to drivers that a pedestrian crossing is there so prepare to let people cross.
