No, they do not teach CRT as a course in grade school. No one is actually saying that they do. The argument being made is whether children are being indoctrinated by those within the education system who, in some cases, have been implementing the strategies held within CRT designed to change the social structure of the next generation in order to bring about a more equitable outcome. This is done by conditioning children through division ..... seeing one another in terms of oppressors and the oppressed (a Marxist ideology) according to race and socioeconomic status by ranking themselves and others according to their priveledge.
Eliminating the racial disparities, policies, and practices must be at the heart of a renewed, refocused, and reenergized movement for racial justice in America.
Here is my suggestion. Have the parents stay up all night and write out word for word what they want teachers to day for each class . The teachers will then just read the lesson plan that the parents have approved. My guess is that 30 or so parents will never agree to anything and they will still accuse the teacher of not following the rules.

Guess what...between 1776 and 1865, rich white Americans bought and sold other human beings who had been captured and forcibly removed from Africa. Let me repeat: White Americans bought and sold other human beings. That is a fact. And that is our history. And we teach history so that we understand our beginings, our successes AND failures. I am 66 years old. I think the education I received as a child about the slave culture in this country was not as complete as it should have been. But, instead of expanding our knowledge of that era, school districts all over the country want to reduce and white wash (pardon the pun) that period AND the resulting prejudices of the past 156 years. Really? Guess what else, I wasn't aware of any of my school mates becoming distraught or depressed or suicidal because of what we were taught. Sad and angry...yes, but not distraught. BECAUSE IT HAPPENED MORE THAN 100 YEARS BEFORE WE WERE BORN! The only shame here comes from the now adults who want to pretend it never happened. What exactly are they trying to hide?
These blacks were already enslaved in Africa by other blacks. Who do you think sold them to the Spanish? Pretending like whites invented slavery is a manifestation of the propaganda you've been fed.
Black parents should sue Republican governments into the dirt, for the feelings that a governmentally imposed curriculum, with the overarching message, "SIavery wasn't eviI," causes them. And I mean suing *_per feeling._* Each and every time any feeling is felt, about that deeply dehumanizing, racist propaganda, being "taught."
I am a leftist and always have been. I was a Civil Rights attorney in the 60's. I have always voted for progressive candidates and as a Jew I am a harsh critic of Israel and a supporter of the Palestian People There is no room in our family (mixed race in fact) for racism. I am a white male and I know I have had many advantages because I am White and male. And there is no way i can fully know the experience of people of other races, genders, social classes, etc. However I would like to point out that the law being used to prevent CRT from being taught is in fact a terrible law that is intended to stifle conversation that "might offend anyone." And on it's face has no place in an open society. And the truth is that these laws weren't designed to stifle talking about the truths about slavery, racism, sexism, etc. They grew out of Woke ideologies being taught in universities and teacher training programs around the country. If students or teachers can't say anything that might offend some whether because of their race, their religion, their sexual orientation and if someone does say something that offends someone else they are automatically labels something negative we are in deep trouble. It is easy to see why it's wrong to say you talk talk about CRT in schools. But is it wrong to question whether systemic racism is a fact if you are White. And if you do and you are automatically labelled a racist is that cool? This isn't as simple as it seems. If you are willing to look and think critically check out some of Peter Boghossian's you tube videos.
Pretty sure they're trying to protect racism in America, hence why they don't want their children being taught an ideology that runs contrary to their own core values. Racists and white supremacists are the core of the Republican Party.
CRT is a master's level course taught in college. There is no way to discuss CRT in school - unless you're getting your master's. I have yet to be in a classroom where I have heard someone called a racist for questioning if systemic racism exists and if so, what it is. When people are open to learning, they learn. When people feel that they know something already - whether it's because they're Jewish or have "mixed-raced" people in their family, we fall into our own echo chambers and are unable to become enlightened. The interesting thing about Black people is that we're always willing to discuss, debate or welcome anyone. We've been discussing racism in the country since 1865. It's usually white people who run screaming from discussions of race and racism.
In Thailand, a person can get 15 yrs in prison for clicking 'like' on an internet post which does not heap praise on the royals. Why they do not stand up for the majority that white supremacy is ugly and that it remains a stain on America. Does these so called educators know this is an elective in "LAW SCHOOL"... where did these fools get their education. Or did their parents teach them .
I went to a local public school in GA. We all were very well educated by both white and black teachers and had many a classroom conversation in history, where it went right as well as whether it was wrong. During desegregation. We all had homeroom classes that stressed mutual respect for each other. We had zero problems with race and there was and almost equal numbers of blacks and whites. This is what happens when you have good teachers. Parents do not have time to educate their kids, and the should follow a curriculum and not just pass on their prejudices. They can't do it. CRT is the same as history only if it is taught the right way..BTW, we did not associate with private school kids because their parents were racist evangelical , holier than though attitude.
We had to learn about our own part in not only American history but Oklahoma's history at home from our elders... Because we were omitted from the text books 👀back then.
I learned about the Tulsa race riots, AKA Juneteenth, in an 8th grade Oklahoma History class on 1978, so Oklahoma was doing something right in 1978. Nowadays they'd call that CRT. Simple history, factual and correct, just saying.
Juneteenth was nothing to do with the Greenwood massacre. Juneteenth celebrated the slaves in Galveston being told by the army that slavery had ended more than a year prior. I also went to school in Oklahoma, and took Oklahoma history in 1983. I remember a very short page about what happened in Greenwood, and it left a vague impression it was black people rioting, and said nothing about the actual truth. Which I didn't learn until I was in my 30s.
I agree! Which is why it's so important to teach history in school so we learn from our past mistakes and make sure we don't repeat them again. If history doesn't make you even a little bit uncomfortable, then you're not reading history. You're reading mythology.
Which is typically more racist in America? A. White people being racist against black people. B. Black people being racist against Asian people. Crime statistics point to "B", actually.

"More important, as critical race theorists we adopt a stance that PRESUMES that racism has contributed to ALL contemporary manifestations of group advantage and disadvantage along RACIAL lines, including differences in income, imprisonment, health, housing, education, political representation, and military service. Our history calls for this PRESUMPTION." "Words That Wound: Critical Race Theory, Assaultive Speech, and the First Amendment" by Matsuda, Lawrence III, Delgado, and KIMBERLE' WILLIAMS CRENSHAW Those are their words from their intellectual papers: It is the entire foundation of the premise. CRT promotes the notion that the fact that a group is measurably superior is proof that everybody in that group is guilty; and, that a group being inferior is proof that everybody in that group is a victim. Further: this principle projects through time; asserting that what happened to the long dead projects onto the guilt or victimhood of the living; even if the living never experienced it at all........... CRT uses history and statistics to justify using government force to implement racial discrimination. CRT obviates the need for any thought, word or act of racism as proof of their presumed verdict. All they need is their preferred race measuring less favorably than another. Regardless of the cause: they declare their favored race to be victims of the other. Then they would use real government enforced discrimination in response to their presumed discrimination; altering laws, policies and practices to favor their preferred race. All for the stated purpose of forcibly making the measurements between races identical. The operative question is whether you support using government force to implement racial discrimination. All the rest is academic. My answer is no.

Here is my suggestion. Have the parents stay up all night and write out word for word what they want teachers to day for each class . The teachers will then just read the lesson plan that the parents have approved. My guess is that 30 or so parents will never agree to anything and they will still accuse the teacher of not following the rules.

SMH 🤦🏾♂️, this is why they are DEAD LAST in the country as far education.

"More important, as critical race theorists we adopt a stance that PRESUMES that racism has contributed to ALL contemporary manifestations of group advantage and disadvantage along RACIAL lines, including differences in income, imprisonment, health, housing, education, political representation, and military service. Our history calls for this PRESUMPTION."
"Words That Wound: Critical Race Theory, Assaultive Speech, and the First Amendment"
by Matsuda, Lawrence III, Delgado, and KIMBERLE' WILLIAMS CRENSHAW
Those are their words from their intellectual papers: It is the entire foundation of the premise.
I recommend a switch to decaf, and removing all the mirrors from your house in order to avoid confronting racism.
