When seconds count, the Uvalde Police Department waited an hour and 17 minutes just outside the classroom where the murderer was slaughtering children in. Meanwhile, heavily armed police officers outside the school were physically subduing parents for trying to save their children who they could hear screaming, the job these officers cowardly refused to do.

Love your channel but I’ll disagree with your comment. I think there need to be a ban of weapons for kids until 21 if they can’t drink they sure as hell shouldn’t be allowed to buy weapons. I agree teachers should carry if they want but I disagree about more police in our schools. I’ll add I do agree with teaching kids gun safety.

I'm surprised that nobody ever references the Czech Republic as an example of how a country can have looser gun laws but lower crime rates. Even with licensing and registration laws, it is much easier to obtain a firearm there than in most first world countries (excluding the U.S.) and their gun laws have continually loosened over the past three decades. They allow civilian ownership of AR-15s and other semi-auto rifles (including "SBRs"), and they allow everyday citizens to conceal carry firearms in similar fashion to many "shall issue" states in the United States, but on a nationwide basis rather than on a state to state basis. Recently, they even wrote an almost Second-like Amendment to their constitution.

This is my stance. If YOU REALLY care more about CHILDRENS LIVES than you do about your gun control and subverting the constitution? You will CONSIDER ALL OPTIONS.
I will not discuss gun control until after THIS.
IT IS THE ANSWER TO MASS SHOOTINGS.
The subversives of the constitution. Want more GOVERNMENT LAW.
So let's point at it and show the folly of this argument.
" law by design exists to define criminal behavior NOT STOP IT.
Criminal justice and Sentencing is supposed to be the deterrent. If there is a proliferation of a particular crime? Say mass shootings it is the FAULT OF GOVERNMENT PROSECUTORS AND JUDGES.
for example anyone reading this, think to yourself and contemplate the answer.
Of all the mass shooters captured, what was the disposition of their cases, what was the punishment, did it fit the crime and did it send a message of deterrent? THE GOVERNMENTS PUNISHMENT FOR CRIME IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE DETERRENT. YET we don't even know what the punishments were.
So if we don't know? The next mass shooter doesn't know either.
We have this problem because NOBODY IS DISSUADED FOR FEAR OF THE PUNISHMENT.
Some of these guys are fine with dying going out in a attention grabbing blaze of glory, in their minds.
What would happen if there was a very PUBLIC PAINFUL CORPORAL PUNISHMENT?
To those who would say cruel and unusual punishment. I would say yes the children in U vald e
Were cruelly and unusually murdered. Think about the visuals of elementary children at that scene...............
Now tell me again about the punishment befitting a crime like that . How is it cruel and unusual?
The point is government criminal justice punishment is supposed to be the deterrent. YET HERE WE ARE! How can people ask why does this happen? It is glaringly obvious. Government Criminal justice is not justice nor a deterrent."
With governments failure so obvious. I will stick to my own guns and be my own first responder".The only thing that needs to be done to STOP MASS SHOOTERS?
IS: To get your fricken eyes off the law abiding, the firearm and focus on the THOSE SHOOTERS.
      !THE PERPETRATORS!
It is time to bring swift and painful corporal punishment back as a DETERRENT. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO?
YOU PLACE THE SHOOTER ABOVE THE LIVES OF INCENT CHILDREN SLAUGHTERED PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.
Awesome morality you have. SMH If you are not willing to do this? You digust me I am not willing to listen to you. I sure am not willing to go ANY FARTHER ON MY, NOT GUILTY, CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS FOR YOUR WARPED SENSE OF MORLITY.

@@AdamRitchie2 Yes I have, I have family members and friends who are anti-gun, and they're not as clueless as the loud mouths you see on Brandon's video. Most the people I know who are anti-gun, don't want a total ban on guns or semi-auto rifles, but they want laws that make it more difficult for people like the Uvalde shooter to get their hands on them in the first place.
I'm sick and tired of the extreme cases always being put on display, we've seen it time and time again over the last few years, because they grab headlines. But the US is a country of 330 million people, if we were all extreme left-wingers or right-wingers, it would never work. In 17 of the 61 incidents, law enforcement “engaged the shooter,” while there were 6 incidents where citizens either “engaged” the attacker or where “citizen involvement impacted the engagement.” In other words, it took a "Good Guy With a Gun" to stop a criminal that was misusing a firearm.

Instead of guns, criminals used knives and vehicles to hurt people while I was in London. Want to buy some new cutlery? If such a ban is passed I strongly suspect that it will quickly end up in the Supreme Court docket. The existing SCOTUS precedent in Marbury v Madison says that such a law would be invalid even before it gets passed. All laws repugnant to the Constitution are void.
Murdock v Pennsylvania has already determined that the state cannot convert a Right into a Privilege and require a license for it.
US v Miller defined weapons protected by the 2nd amendment as all that are 'of use to the militia’, and the militia is described as all citizens capable of bearing arms. IE, the entire armed population.
I think it was the Heller case that further noted that the 2nd amendment protects arms in common use. And, according to the BATFE, the AR-15 pattern rifle is the most popular rifle, currently. Heller deviates from the Founders somewhat though. Heller limited the “in common use” to lawful purposes, whereas the Founders spoke in terms of “in common use” by the military.
This was mainly so that armed civilians that showed up to help the military could be resupplied with ammunition, from the government supplies, that would function in the Militia weapons.

It wont help to harden schools. Mass shootings occur everywhere. Grocery stores, theaters ,colleges, post offices, playgrounds, parks, workplaces. Armed guards have not helped. It’s interesting that this site advocates military arms in its logo. Waiting periods of several days would probably help a bunch. The fact that all mass shooters have bought their guns legally is a massive problem. Law abiding gun owners need to stand up for gun regulation to cut gun violence. A waiting period would reduce suicides, and more mass shootings are themselves suicides by cop. So waiting period of ten days would be essential to curbing impulse buying. Once the gun is purchased it’s almost impossible to stop a mass shooter. I also believe anyone who buys a gun should be required to have in person class training and field training and “active shooter drills” to show gun owners what indeed is possible and not possible where guns are concerned. The myth of gun ownership is that guns make us safer. For the most part they do not. You cannot react quickly enough to respond to an active shooter unless you know ahead of time where one will be. Armed guards have failed in every school shooting; good guys with guns come running into situations and are either shooting innocent bystanders or lot getting shot by police as they confuse the situation. Waiting periods I think are the place to start with substantial in person training in how to use a gun safety and legally.

He was going to shoot an innocent bystander because he thought that person was the shooter. The crowd yelled at him to stop. Then the police started shooting at him because they thought HE was the shooter. Civilians may end a mass shooting but they don’t stop it before the killings have happened. Guns don’t make you safer. They make you a target.

As a gun owner, I really feel we should solidify our talking points, but it really feels like it's not here in this video. Calling people violent, deranged, and hypocritical is not an argument. Self-victimizing and talking about how we're called domestic terrorists and how people wish violence on us doesn't do anything either. If anything, both of those would just contribute to a cycle of refusing to have a proper conversation from both sides. Both sides end up cherrypicking arguments and choosing the worst to deconstruct. Gun safety courses in schools could be beneficial, but its not comparable to sex ed classes. There were some good points in this video, but they weren't expanded upon enough. There have been articles claiming that blunt force trauma has not killed more than firearms, and we would better spend our time disproving that rather than just putting up one screenshot of an article and moving along to the next point. Pointing out that overly detailed media coverage of a shooter's life could inspire other shooters is a great point, but that should be expanded upon again such as talking to mental health professionals and asking if this really could be the case. And while it is true that a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun, that isn't really a solution either because it doesn't prevent a shooting from happening. A huge missed opportunity is talking about how proposed gun control laws are flawed such as red flag laws or so called universal background checks. We have to face the fact that we live in a reality where saying "it's my right" is not a sufficient enough answer to convince others from enacting gun control, and that we have to better explain our perspectives and viewpoints while using constructive language.

So afterward the nation required its schools to possess a very robust security system, and that policy is still going strong today, which is why they have only had two other school attacks in 48 years, and in both cases, the bad guys were killed by armed teachers.
As a law enforcement-trained security professional, I agree with the intelligent and effective plan Israel came up with because it incorporates a multi-layered approach to protecting schools, which is what every successful security system employs, instead of a single-minded approach toward protection, such as eliminating guns on campus, which has actually increased not reduced violence in America's schools.
I propose that we truly value and thus protect our children as Israel does with well-trained armed guards, teachers, and bus drivers. Let's employ key cards, high-strength fences, limit and harden all entry checkpoints, install ballistic doors and windows, biometric scanners, metal detectors, individual communication devices, and a whole host of other time-tested methods for securing a building and its occupants.

That was the standard when the constitution was written, and it did not infringe upon their rights in any way.
Why would it be infringing on the 2nd Amendment? You still have the right to carry that weapon. Heck, I'd be fine with you taking it to so-called "gun free zones" and thus, it would increase your right to bear arms.

I definitely agree with the points made in this video, yet, I will say that not all "good guys with guns" are responsible, fearless human beings. Many cops are cowards; just as many cops are bad apples, and this cannot be overstated. And once civilians with firearms are added that number grows even more. I agree that we need more security but that is not the end all be all. The supermarket with the shooting in Buffalo, had an armed guard, he was shot and killed. That was indeed a good guy with a gun, and a brave one at that. But a security presence does not neccecarily mean no loss of life.
We still need to fight this issue at its source, what laws will work that don't infringe on the rights of normal law abiding citizens. Age requirements, looking for red flags in certain individuals, (such as clearly extremely racist or violent rhetoric, and animal abuse; keeping tabs on those individuals, the same way you keep tabs on suspected drug dealers or terrorists), and allowing parents to take legal responsibility if their weapon is used in a shooting.
My only problem is that you only hear solutions from the left. For example, if mental health is the problem, why don't Republicans give federal money to mental health organizations, or help schools set up mental health check ins with kids? IMHO the gun community as a whole needs to have these conversations. Whether we like it or not, these are people in our community that carry out these acts; they are legal "law abiding" gun owners, right up until they pull that trigger.
Because if we don't talk about ways to cut down on these things the Left will.

Regulations got very tight, hand gun only for guards of money transport, sport shooters, police and military. Collectors can own guns, but have also very strict regulations. Those regulations effectively stopped mass shootings.

Ya know...I'm a much different person than I used to be. I want to preface what I'm about to say with the fact that there was a time...when I was younger...and less experienced in life, less open minded, faster to jump to defend my core beliefs from people that are opposed to them. Slower to listen reasons once someone wanted to express their opposition to my beliefs.
All that kind of changed when I had a profound experience. People have labeled them "near death experiences". It's an incorrect definition. What they should be called are soul form or untethered life experiences. This experience was extremely profound, and though so beautiful and full of awe and love that there are no words to describe it in a way that does it justice or gives the respect to it that it deserves, it was also so traumatic and shocking that I will never fully heal from it.
What I learned about this subject is this: We are all born to this earth innocent, pure, defenseless, void of any conception of who or what we are, and more than anything, a SPONGE for knowledge and in desperate need of direction from others. We are 100% the responsibility of not just our parents, but every person our parents expose us to and every environment. The problem is that EVIL/DARKNESS/INDIFFERENCE...it exists. We cannot control whether or not other people allow that darkness into their heart. People don't realize that it's not like the movies where the force on earth that is evil and darkness at it's core doesn't appear to us as itself all the time. It has to appear to be the light so that it can perform it's sole purpose: Leading us away from our intended purpose and the meaning of this life, which to learn how to Love each other as we want to be loved, and to do it without expectations of personal gain and with unconditional forgiveness. To help and serve our fellow man and encourage others to do so. It's here to destroy us and cause pain and suffering and indifference in our hearts for each other. It's selfish, ruthless, narcissistic, vindictive, jealous, violent, immoral, and indifferent. As long as there is this unseen dark force, it's OUR DUTY to fight it. Some of us are better at it than others because of what we absorbed as we have progressed in life. The only way evil prevails is when good men just watch and do nothing. Firearms are 100% necessary to protect us from evil. They will also be used by evil in order to try and tear us apart. Evil doesn't play by rules, laws, or morals. The moment we let down our guard, it wins. The human race...especially in America and parts of Europe that are 1st world countries...has been absolutely ravaged by the darkness, and its done such a good job of appealing to their ego that they have completely surrendered to it and it now is in control of their lives. You see...it comes in that voice in your head that tells you it's OK to hurt others if it benefits you. It helps you justify it or make excuses or blame others. Every time we do something we know is wrong or hurt someone that is innocent or loves us, we let a little more in. It also loves company. The more souls it can lead astray the better, so when there's large groups of people with hate for other people in their heart and threatening or committing violence against people who simply have different beliefs, you know what's at work.
I see 2 groups of people that are wanting to take away our right to defend ourselves from the evil in the hearts of men. The first is a group of citizens who have frankly lost any and all sense of what is moral, right, wrong, and just, and have never seen evil's true face because they weren't exposed to an environment where the threat of another person attacking you is a daily reality, and having a means to defend themselves is truly a life or death necessity, and the other group is the people who have the power to make laws and take away our freedom if we break them. That's a scary situation. We can't let the darkness win. Those of us that are still on the right side of what's right and wrong stand to lose everything to those who have blinded those who aren't and the blind themselves. We are at a very dangerous tipping point as a human race. Guns are simply tools. Laws have never stopped evil or the people it has worked itself into. This isn't just a battle for our freedom. It's a battle for our souls.

UK citizen here. The slippery slope of banning weapons and it doing absolutely nothing reigns true. We in the UK have effectively little in the way of legal firearms, a minuscule firearm culture and many forms of melee weapons are also banned.
Despite this laws, we have a staggering amount of knife crime (including the use of machetes) and many rampages in recent times were done using vehicles such as vans, lorries and other heavy good vehicles and like the US, the majority of gun crime is committed using illegally obtained firearms via black markets but it's only the exceptions that used firearms obtained by legal methods used in spree killings that ever make the news and it's only in those exceptional circumstances that suddenly the government is more than eager to make weapon restrictions ever tighter.
In short, the laws do nothing but punish the law-abiding citizen and as you said in the discussion, evil people will find a way to commit their evil acts.
Must be said that I was genuinely surprised that knives are more prevalent in US crime than rifles which just tells me further than restriction on firearms does nothing to the crime levels: see above.
