THANK YOU for bringing some attention to GIJoe. I came across that game in the wild as a kid and lost my frekkin mind! I played as much as I could (until mom said I had to leave lol). I always hoped to see it ported at some but it never happened. I love that it used so many enemies and vehicles from the 90’s era Joes. Thanks for the memories 😁
We had a G.I.Joe cabinet st my local arcade growing up and i played the hell out of that game! The fight against Baroness on top of that plane and the standard "final boss that turns out to be a robot before the actual final boss" fights are fantastic. Only problem was that everyone said "Yo, Joe!" after every level, including Snake eyes.
It didn't last long around here, and I never saw people play it. I have to admit even I didn't play it much, and I grew up watching and playing with GI Joe. I even forgot about it until just seeing it now lol.
I never saw the GI Joe game growing up, but a few months ago I found it at an arcade I go to every few months. It's amazing. The first level plays the "Got to Get Tough" GI Joe theme from the cartoon.
When i was a kid, id say around 93' or 94', the Jerry subs by my house had a few arcade cabinets. They had 3 games that i first played there. Samurai shodown, Buster bros., and G.I joe. Till this day i still remember playing G.i joe. The game was that good. Whenever id mention it to people they had no idea what i was talking about. Fast forward to 20 years later i was able to find gameplay footage of it on youtube. It was just as i remembered.
One of my oldest extant memories is seeing Shadow Force in an arcade as a child. I was 50% sure I had dreamed it up until coming across while pouring through lists of old arcade games.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TALKING ABOUT THE OUTFOXIES That game is so great and so fascinating, and nobody seems to know about it. That's really frustrating.
It's less bloody than contemporaries like Splatterhouse and Mortal Kombat, neither of which have ever had a rating above M. Hell, there's not even any naughty words in the Outfoxies. It warrants a T rating at the most.
This video could have easily doubled as "Best Arcade Games You Never Heard Of." I mean DAMN, I thought I knew of a pretty good number of arcade games, but I've never heard of ANY of these. And they all look awesome!!
This video showcases three of my all-time favorite games. Cadillacs And Dinosaurs, Windjammers and Shock Troopers Are games I have never gone wrong with and have always recommended to others. Great video, yet again.
Nice selection of arcade games. Cadillac and Dinosaurs, I used to play this a lot as a kid . I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and I have been watching a lot of your older videos. Really like your channel!
G.I. Joe *sniffs* I missed that game, when our local mall opened in the 90's the arcade had this. Man it was so much fun, then some drunk idiot broke the damn thing and never saw it again. Always hoping one day the make it available for consoles.
@@karlschipul9753 Not too sure about Milford Amusement Center in CT, but definitely at Chucky Cheese in Orange CT. Use to go there on the regular to play. Employees said we were too old to be there but we said we were only there to play GI Joe and they let us in. FACTS
Wow great video, I remembered allot of those games. You took me back with Willow I had forgotten about that game. An I didn't know there was a G.I. Joe arcade game
This video nvr get old I could watch it over n over again. I wish they made all this games for Super Nintendo, sega & other console. I definitely would like to play G.I. Joe & hopefully get release look very amazing.
If you like Monster Maulers, you really want to check out Oni - The Ninja Master (AKA Metamoqester). It's similar in structure but better overall, featuring some truly zany boss designs - you'll like it a lot!
I so remember Cadillacs and Dinosaurs...so much fun...and GI Joe is one of my all time faves...I played it in the cabinet when in grade 7 and 8 in Chile
That Cadillacs and Dinosaurs game has always been very famous in my country, even in recent years I still find some cabinets with this game on children's parties. Real shame it never got a console release or at least some re-release in more recent years, probably there are some copyright reasons in the way.
Never saw WIllow in Arcades as a kid, found out about it years ago. One of the best. Would have been a great SNES game. I love the leveling up aspect, and how it affects the charge/projectiles and increases abilities but you also must decide when and what to use against an enemy.
Dude this list rules. A lot of gems here I didn't know about. And you're right, that G.I. Joe games is fantastic and no one ever talks about it. I've also never seen it in the wild but I have had a few extremely fun sessions with the emulated version.
I've only seen outfoxies been mentioned by hardcoregaming101 and it looks beautiful. Man seriously I need to play more arcade games and build one for my own use, I mean I knew stuff like Cadillac and dinosaurs but now I NEED to play Shock Troopers and Windjammers. Good thing they're on the PS4. Need to play that Crystal game that looks like Pocky and Rocky. Seriously great video, completely left field and great games shown. Not really talked about games as well.
I played Outfoxies briefly in the wild once as a kid, it was unlike anything else at the time. I only had a few minutes on it but is stuck with me ever since, really good game.
Yeah but I like actually having them in the console I play the most. Is there some collection lying around that's not a romset? Like an official collection
The first time I saw the GI Joe cabinet was DT Montreal and it was packed old school style! It was crazy!! Huge and loud and people were taking turns trying to finish it.
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs has been my favorite Arcade game since forever! I play it constantly on my PSP and my Wii U through Retroarch. It's nice to see it featured
I've seen a couple GI Joe cabinets out in the wild, back in the day. It was usually in a huge arcade, like the ones at amusement parks(King's Island, Cedar point, etc.). Saw both 2 player and 4 player variants. Never saw it at any smaller mall arcades.
I actually put several of these titles on my SNES classic. A lot of people just say to do a Pi, but the SNES classic gives just the right amount of nostalgia feel with everything feeling like classic hardware, while also giving the flexibility to have games from tons of systems on it. And 80 bucks isn't a bad price for a unit with two controllers. I love it just for the old capcom beatemups alone
I played that GI Joe game in a hotel on Crete in the early 90's, it was loads of fun. The hotel had a great arcade with Wonder Boy in Monster Land and Double Dragon
I played the original GIJOE arcade cabinet at my local arcade called Magicland back in the early 90's where u pay for your time inside and all the arcade cabinets are free to play...that's where I first beat the first 4 player Ninja Turtles arcade game which is still my favorite! Good times!
Great vid! As always, it makes me feel like playing ALL those arcade! Specially Cadillacs & Dinosaurs. By the way, SnesDrunk... Have you thought of making a Dinosaur-based 16-bit videogame list video? I mean... it' s not just Jurassic Park!😉
I have to say I am surprised that Alien vs Predator didn't make the video (I remember it being on your Best 90s Arcade Games Never to Get a Super Nintendo Port video), but there were a TON of great arcade games that never made the transition to home consoles. Great vid like always!
Ever played Final Fight 3 on the Super NES? In the game's last level, the iconic Aliens technologies the Power Loader, the pulse rifle, and the flamethrower can be seen in the background. I strongly believe at the time that Capcom was dropping hints for a console port of their arcade adaptation of Alien Vs. Predator.
I rented it a long time ago when it was new, and if I had known what it was going to be selling for these days I would have bought a copy. I remember hearing that a Sega 32X port for Aliens vs Predator had been in the works back in the day but nothing came of it and a ROM has not been found, so I don't know how far it got.
Yeah, I think most prices of games and consoles of the 8-, 16-, and 32-bit gaming generations are IN-FUCKING-SANE nowadays as well. Well, the good news is that there's always emulation.
True, but Final Fight 3 was made in limited quantities as were a lot of games in the time frame just before and after the N64 launch which raised the value substantially. Even in Japan it was a small run, so either way you are going to spend about $150 or so for the game. Mega Man X3 on the other hand...
OMG! I was looking for that G.I.Joe game's name! Every time I googled it, it would bring up the crappy NES ones. I use to play that arcade at my local Family Fun Center(renamed Boomer's). Thanks!
I remember playing the GI Joe game with a friend at an arcade back in the day. It was a special cabinet with a larger than normal screen. It looked and sounded amazing, but I remember it being really tough.
The G.I.JOE arcade game, that... one... wow never thought I would remember that game when I was little. Just seeing this in your video brings me back some childhood memories again! Yes I played that one and sucked ballz, but at least I had fun with it. Never knew this was even from G.I.JOE back then, I thought it was some kind of shooting game from SEGA. Thanks!
I have only ever seen the GI Joe arcade once at a comic shop when I was young (early-mid 90s) my brother and I would go there every chance we got just to play the game and on occasion buy a comic. Would love to play that again.
How about a "REVISITING" Series on the channel?.... I know you have done lots of game reviews, and I am sure you are running out of ideas for videos to make.... I really enjoy your content, so I would support a "Revisiting Super Mario" etc. I think you understand :) Good video as always man
There was quite a bunch Dragonball Z games on the SFC but there were 3 exclusive arcade games, two regular 1 on 1 vs like Street Fighter 2 with more special moves and flying basically, but there was a third called "Dragon Ball Z V.R.V.S" that played basically like Punch Out with a split screen, and that could've been made into a Snes game I think(with some sprite reduction and cutting animation, and maybe ditching the dual screen, and maybe making use of a enhancer chip like the SA-1 that was even used in "Dragonball Z Hyper Dimension"). It ran on an Sega System 32 machine so you could argue that's the reason it didn't make it to the Snes, but it was actually developed by Banpresto and I heard there was an intent to translate it to the 3DO console (but was cancelled because of the impeding doom of the console) so I guess there wasn't an issue to bring it to a non-Sega console(and I don't think the Genesis would've been able to handle the graphics anyway).
Oh man. Make those available for Xbox One! I would play many of those games today with no complaints. The 3D elements are especially interesting, where you're running third-person through areas... man that arcade feel! I love that!
The Outfoxies looks more like it inspired Power Stone, or more accurately Power Stone 2. That game had the most amazing stage transitions too, like the one where you start fighting on an airship which breaks apart over time until you're sent plummeting towards the ground, fighting each other in freefall over the insufficient number of parachutes.
I remember the Guardians beat-em up!! When I was in our second home back in 2003 one of my neighbors had a small arcade and Guardians was one of those games in that arcade alongside Aero Fighters. (Also, the Act-Fancer game is part of Data East's Darwin shooter series which also has Darwin 4078 and Darwin 4081, and Monster Maulers is known in Japan as Kukyoku Sentai Dadandarn, which has an vocal theme in the intro sung by Masato Shimon, who sung the Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman opening)
For Shock Troopers it was also on the PS2, PSP and Wii in the SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 pack which had other great games that could of been on the SNES like Baseball Stars 2 and Neo Turf Masters which is actually a fun Golf game.
Some fun games in here! I agree about G.I. Joe, I bought the arcade board because it's Konami and it didn't emulate well... it was a more expensive board back when i picked it up but I wouldn't want to try and afford it now!
Sorry if this has already been mentioned but the G.I. Joe game was originally released as Devastators. I only remember it because I played it in the arcades waaaaay back when with my brother. We liked it but it was hard as hell and spending all of our quarters on one game with little to no progress made wasn't a good idea.

I have a question for you. What is the one game that you beat that you consider is a true triumph
Sega cd could've handled these just fine damn shame that system didn't take off
You inspired me to put arcade games on my SNES mini. That way, technically these arcade gems can unofficially be on the SNES.
THANK YOU for bringing some attention to GIJoe. I came across that game in the wild as a kid and lost my frekkin mind! I played as much as I could (until mom said I had to leave lol). Man I got lucky, when I was a kid my local comic shop had the GI Joe arcade, it was a lot of fun, and ate a lot of quarters
Sounds like the guy who owned the machine got lucky lol
Channels like this keep me in bed drinking coffee for that extra 10 mins every morning. Thank you, it's a selfless act producing these videos
Thanks Tyler
That GI Joe game was one of my favorite old school arcade cabs

That's because the game is based off the cartoon from DiC and it never gave a reason why Snake-Eyes didn't talk, only the comic book did.
I never saw the GI Joe game growing up, but a few months ago I found it at an arcade I go to every few months. It's amazing. The first level plays the "Got to Get Tough" GI Joe theme from the cartoon.
The "Got to Get Tough" theme is from the DiC series of G.I. Joe.
@@404ServerError…which is still a cartoon, unless you’re one of those snobs who refuses to acknowledge that show exists
Killer vid as always man, keep it up 👌
The Gunman definitely 👍👍👍
That GI Joe arcade was VERY loud all the time in the arcade place I used to go to next to the movie theater when I was a kid!
I loved playing willow, the music, the fighting, the change over of characters and the powerup shots. even the short transition cut scenes.
Aliens Vs Predator would’ve made an amazing beat em up on the Snes
There is an AvP title for SNES, but it's not an arcade port, and it's not really good either.
and instead we got a really really terrible one
Aric Dilbeck totally agree, AVP was awesome on SNES & Jaguar
Always thought they should've made it an mmo.
It was a CPS2 game, so PlayStation, Saturn, or 3DO at the time would have suited it. SNES was really a CPS1 machine.
I remember playing GI Joe at my local bowling alley back in the early 90s.
Endless supply of great videos

you could play it on mame emulator

Man so glad you kept making videos. One of the few channels i still look forward to hearing content from.
Thanks for taking the time to watch
I will be downloading almost all of these. Good stuff! I've added like 200 games to my Retrocade and most were from your videos. Thanks, dude!

4:27 Windjammers never belonged to SNK. It was a third party NeoGeo game made by Data East and the current owner of the game is PAON DP Inc.
I swear there is a hello kitty version for the SNES called Sanrun or something. Very amusing both of them.

Willow is a charming game I will snag the board someday.

The Outfoxies is a severely under-covered game by most outlets. I'm really surprised this game has never been rereleased in some form.
Always the way with the truly nuts ones. See Data East's 'Boogie Wings' for another game that would've made a great Saturn port.
Was genuinely shocked and impressed seeing that footage. Never had heard of that game in the slightest
That's why Nintendo fanboys think they invented that game style with SSB...
No one thinks like that.

That game had the most amazing stage transitions too, like the one where you start fighting on an airship which breaks apart over time until you're sent plummeting towards the ground, fighting each other in freefall over the insufficient number of parachutes.
Cadillac & Dinosaurs and Tumblepop were staples of every arcade where I grew up.
I remember that GI Joe game... I might have played it. Who knows. Great video Thanks!
They had GI Joe in the Student Union building at my university. I didn't play it very much though. I blew most of my quarters on Raiden 2.
Thanks for this video! lots of stuff i have never heard of before!
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME Work as ALWAYS 👍👍👍💯💯💯👏👏👏
I remember the Guardians beat-em up!! When I was in our second home back in 2003 one of my neighbors had a small arcade and Guardians was one of those games in that arcade alongside Aero Fighters. (Also, the Act-Fancer game is part of Data East's Darwin shooter series which also has Darwin 4078 and Darwin 4081, and Monster Maulers is known in Japan as Kukyoku Sentai Dadandarn, which has an vocal theme in the intro sung by Masato Shimon, who sung the Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman opening)
Played GIJoe in an arcade back in the ‘90s, fun and addictive... wouldn’t mind paying it today...
great list man. some of these could have made pretty badass sega saturn ports IMHO.
For Shock Troopers it was also on the PS2, PSP and Wii in the SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 pack which had other great games that could of been on the SNES like Baseball Stars 2 and Neo Turf Masters which is actually a fun Golf game.
this is great for MAME users. Never heard of some of these THanks!
Gi Joe was awesome. Mall of America had the cabinet and every time I was there I would play it.
Fun fact: windjammers has a competitive scene and was a side tournament at evo along with TMNT tournament fighters for SNES
I'm late to the party, but Darkstalkers was such a fun Arcade Fighting Game!! I would've loved to have played it on SNES as a kid, given the chance.
I played alot of these as a kid too, the Avengers was a fun 4 player so was D&D which came later on when arcade games where dying out.
Cool, some of these were new to me.
I played the GI Joe cab once in I think 1993 or 94 in the Fort Lauderdale Grand Prix Race O Rama. It was super badass has a kid.
Some fun games in here! I agree about G.I. Joe, I bought the arcade board because it's Konami and it didn't emulate well... it was a more expensive board back when i picked it up but I wouldn't want to try and afford it now!
Dude all these games look awesome. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I spent many a quarter on GI Joe and Cadillac and Dinosaurs too. Killing Cobra henchmen and punching dinosaurs!
Sorry if this has already been mentioned but the G.I. Joe game was originally released as Devastators. I only remember it because I played it in the arcades waaaaay back when with my brother. We liked it but it was hard as hell and spending all of our quarters on one game with little to no progress made wasn't a good idea.
