Thank you for the great advice, I also find the E6000 very stringy at times and can mess up a garment really fast, I also use now the Aleenes Jewel it glue, very strong, cleaner and fast to apply.
How does it handle when washing in washer machine, I'm thinking about blinging some face masks. Searching on Amazon, found many kinds. Some for glue, while others for Hotfix... This will be my first time and very curious but excited at the same time. Please help. Thank you😎
I used Alleene's Jewelry and Metal Glue to adhere rhinestone and crystal jewelry to velvet, that glue left a white coating over every piece of jewelry. Ruined the job!!!!!
You are so informative. Just starting to use rhinestones on my craft project and was a little lost on how to get started. And your video, helped me pick the right rhinestones.
Hi Meghan - love your channel! For the Amazon Jollin brand stones, what is the difference between "transparent AB" and "crystal AB"? Which would you recommend for a tumbler and a mask? Thanks!
Firstly thank you! To answer your question, the crystal ab stones that are transparent will have no silver backing, and thus the color of whatever you are putting them on with show through the stone. A regular crystal ab has a silver backing on the stone, giving the stone a white appearance with the rainbow "ab" coating on top. Transparent will blend into your project more, and the regular crystal ab will give you more pop and sparkle. Hopefully that answers your question!
@@MeghanGraceDIY Thank you so much - yes that helps immensely. I appreciate the information and have purchased the crystal version. Thanks for being so detailed and informative in all of your videos. You're a lifesaver for us rhinestone newbies! :)
It’s my pleasure...I’ve been buying rhinestones for...ev....Er! I wish when I was walking around the fashion district 10 years ago I knew a bit more what I was doing Lolol!!
I"m curious how the bottled glue holds up to wear. I have my daughters dance jacket I would like to sparkle up, but it was expensive and I'm afraid of the stones falling off. thanks so much!
It holds up ok - since making this video e6000 has improved their formula and it doesn’t stink as much so that’s my go to now! E6000 holds up great through wear and washing!
Ah! I'm so l Glad I found your videos!! Super helpful! I have a couple of questions. It looks like you bought Jollin's hot fix crystals but you use Aileen's to glue them. Does that cause any issues with adhering? I have Gem-Tac already, would that be just as good as Aileen's? My 1st project is to fix a pair of black Rhinestone heels that I'm wearing for a photoshoot, so I am unsure of how to properly adhere the new stones. Thank you!! ❤
Yes I have used glue on hot fix stones, I’ve never found it to make a difference - sometimes the hot fix ones are cheaper! If you are doing shoes I would strongly recommend e-6000, since the shoes will be bending and moving, that will give you the best hold to the show material!
Would this method work for any rhinestone shapes besides round shape? I have almond shape rhinestones and squared rhinestones and I'm working on a Barbie doll clothing project that requires them.
Hi Meghan! I’m drafting a dress and want to add flat backed pearls to various layers of tulle. Do you have any glue recommendations? I’m afraid that the glue will dissolve the fabric 😕
Definitely don’t use E6000, I have heard that can dissolve fabric. Since you are doing tulle, I would recommend getting hot fix stones if possible. Hot fix requires a tool to heat up the stone or pearl to melt the glue on the back, but it’s much cleaner than using a glue bottle. Since you will see the glue on the back, I think that’s your best way to go!
Hi Meghan. For my first ever DIY project, I'm making a 4 inch wooden frame for a 6' by 3' mirror. I primed, painted it with a metallic water-based paint by PPG, and applied a polyurethane finish. I want the mirror to have a crystal fade pattern going from the top down. Do you have any recommendations for what kind of glue I should use?
Oooooo what a fun project!! I’m going to recommend e6000, just practice with it first since it has a difficult viscosity and can come out fast if it’s your first time working with it. Also since it seems like a larger project I would make sure to work in a ventilated area as that stuff has some serious fumes to it! Tag me in a picture when you are done I would love to see the finished product!!
¿What would you recommend for attaching flat back rhinestones to large, glass-smooth ceramic panels in a shower⁇ Vertical surfaces aren't ideal, but I'm stuck with them. I hope a hot fix applicator would work, because I sure don't want to mess around with glue.
With the aileens jewel it, you can hand wash with cold water. With the e6000 it holds up pretty well to the washing machine but I would still use cold water. With hot water you run the risk of melting the glue and it getting goo all over your garment/project, as well as losing some stones!
Im not 100% sure what your working with, but if its a tassle Im going to say it needs to be handsewn. Silk is very light so something may just be too heavy for it in which case I would recommend a smaller tassle or a heavier weight fabric (like a silk dupioni)
If it’s going to be washed frequently, I would use e6000, aileens is good but more for things that don’t get washed very often like dance and skating performance costumes
Oh wow!!! I’ve never heard of that! I know e6000 is the gold standard but it’s powerful stuff, as long as you can hand wash the vase I would use aileens jewel it
When I use e6000 on my rhinestones on my faux leather bows I’ve gotten from Michaels, the glue speckles the backing in some way and you can see that within the rhinestone while looking at it. What’s causing this?
I do buy them on amazon - they are obviously not Swarovski but for the off brands in my experience they are the best quality. I’ve ordered quite a few different brands and they have been my favorites. Do you have a brand you prefer? I’d love to try them and compare!
Oh! Because it was a gift for the winner of a subscriber contest! I forget which one...I think 1500 subscribers? I delete contest videos after a short while so it’s probably not on the channel anymore...funny you picked up on that!
I'm very new to rhinestone application, but since I didn't have any rhinestone glue I used Loctite. And wow, it has worked so well!!
Thank you for the great advice, I also find the E6000 very stringy at times and can mess up a garment really fast, I also use now the Aleenes Jewel it glue, very strong, cleaner and fast to apply.

Thank you soooooo much for your incredible videos!!
Love this! It really helped, but I have a question. Would you use E6000 or Aleene's Jewel-It for a leather diary?
I used Alleene's Jewelry and Metal Glue to adhere rhinestone and crystal jewelry to velvet, that glue left a white coating over every piece of jewelry. Ruined the job!!!!!
Hello. I work with rhinestones. Do you need to spray a coating over the finished project when done so they don't fall out?

Hello I have a question for adding rhinestones to crocs which glue what would you suggest out of the two you showed?
Im working on a crochet clothing item. Would you recommend the same method to add rhinestones?
My daughter is 16 and has been on dance teams since I can't remember. So rhinestone are a part of my life. But tumblers..didnt even think of that.
A lot of people as me about shoes too - like rhinestoning chucks for their wedding. But J-Lo made the sparkly cup popular lol

Why do my wax pencils not stick to my rhinestones? I’ve tried with almost every type. Do you have any tips?
Hiya, is it a bad idea to have bought hotfix when i am planning to glue manually? thank you x

maybe e6000? or a glass adhesive.. my worry is that the glue will run before drying
So I can use Aleenes glue to put rhinestones on clothes ? And will they come off when putting them in the machine washer ?
Answer I’m also looking for. I have a graphic t shirt I want to dazzle with stones.
Can you wash clothing like normal or does it have to be specially washed?
Can the Aline jewel it be used with the beads as well
Thanks! Very helpful.
Hi there! I’m curious to know if once the stones are applied and dried, is the fabric washable?
Yeah I was also wondering

Where did you get the tennis shoes from
I love your video! And your project came out gorgeous 😍 Have you tried 'Beacon Gen Tac' and do you recommend?
Would you recommend Jewell it for leather?
Hi so I am going to put rhinestones on a scream mask for Halloween which glue should I use
I would use e6000
I’m trying to work with rhinestone tassel the long ones they might me too heavy with the silk fabric so which method do you recommend.

Thank you so much for this!
Your welcome!
I want to add some rhinestones to some transparent pumps to dress them up. Any suggestions?
I love the Jollin brand on Amazon, they are cheap and have great sparkle!!
Will the Aleens glue work on terry towels and will they fall off during washing?
If it’s going to be washed frequently, I would use e6000, aileens is good but more for things that don’t get washed very often like dance and skating performance costumes
Aleenes regular glue is not waterproof.
love this
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Thanks for sharing
Is 7000 glue ok for champion slides?
When you use it on clothes, they don’t easily fall out during washing?
Cold water gentle cycle air dry, or hand wash cold water ,air dry
They look great for my cat man (from the band kiss) boots
Conrail Gp-40 Guy that’s awesome I’d love to see a pic when they are done!!
I've also put KISS on the back of my computey!
That’s awesome :)
Can use stick glue?
i rimestoned my headphones its awsome
Omg im going to do that now🤣
How do you polish the gems when it gets dull?
Would B-7000 work just as well?
With leather do you need to use nail polisher remover so the stones stick better ?
You can use that or sand paper to rough up the surface a bit
What about cement glue for bonding to a ridged non porous surface?
I’ve never tried it but now I will!!
Which glue is better for vinyl or faux leather?
Definitely e6000
Im new! Heu hey hey!
Hi!! I know I haven’t posted a video in a while but I’m still around if you have questions!
Where to buy crystal?
Been using e6000 on a glass vase and some rhinestones but the e6000 is eating the backing what can i do?
Oh wow!!! I’ve never heard of that! I know e6000 is the gold standard but it’s powerful stuff, as long as you can hand wash the vase I would use aileens jewel it
what's the difference between E-6000 and B-7000?
what glue would you use for leather?
To glue leather on leather? Or leather to another surface?
@@MeghanGraceDIY to glue these types of rhinestones to leather?
Do these rhinestones every come off after washing ?
Depends on how you wash, hand washing they should withstand, machine washing probably not
I want to start with it and selling
To sell.. idk how to start lol.
When I use e6000 on my rhinestones on my faux leather bows I’ve gotten from Michaels, the glue speckles the backing in some way and you can see that within the rhinestone while looking at it. What’s causing this?
What type of stones are you using??
@@MeghanGraceDIY I’d have to look at the name brand but it’s a bag of them from hobby lobby for like $20
So most likely it’s because they are plastic or the backing is foil. If you get glass stones that will relieve the problem!!
Jollin doesn’t look like Swarovski. They are cheap so if you don’t believe me, try it yourself. On amazon preferably, so you can return
I do buy them on amazon - they are obviously not Swarovski but for the off brands in my experience they are the best quality. I’ve ordered quite a few different brands and they have been my favorites. Do you have a brand you prefer? I’d love to try them and compare!
Can i use hot glue gun to stick the stones on shoes?
A hot glue gun will most likely peel off - for sneakers I recommend e6000
@@MeghanGraceDIY thank you so much💕

Fabric- Aileens glue
Definitely e-6000
What about UGGS
