Han Chinese already settling down in ancient xinjiang and inter married with the local inhabitants before the uyghur migrated from Mongolia and before the Islamic invasion from the west. Subsequently the descendents of early Han Chinese would have been absorbed by the Uyghur population themselves as evidenced by modern day DNA analysis.

没错，是喀什市的老城区。因为历史悠久的贫民区，建筑多是土坯墙，两百年间随着人口增长，那里的人一旦有钱就会在老房子上加盖新房子，来满足居住生活需求。那些民居有着维吾尔族文化传统的装饰，又有独特的建筑结构和外立面关系，因此那些民居建筑群落很有独特的韵味魅力。
1949年中国人推翻之前的国民党政府政权后，随着人民政府政权的接管，新疆也随着全国逐渐发展变化，那些老城区建筑因为不符合现代生活需求，比如缺少排水管道和现代的消防条件，又因为土坯墙结构有很大的地震危害，喀什市的老城区建筑在不断翻新重建。
现在你去喀什旅游，能看到的只有被特意保留下来的“高台民居”，即使是那里，也只是看着有历史韵味，实际上也被翻新过。在十几年前，新疆地方政府就搬迁了那些旧建筑的居民到新城区，把旧建筑环境按现代化要求拆除或翻新、重建，让那片街区符合消防和抗震规范。翻新后的旧城区，回迁一部分居民，继续生活和商业活动，但整个旧街区被当作旅游体验区来运营，游客收入和本地商业税收用来补贴政府对老城升级的垫资。
绝大多数喀什市民，已经生活在现代化的街区了。
