It’s a tricky one to get to without a doubt. It looks like a nice park though. I only subscribed to your channel recently, and am thoroughly enjoying your videos.
Oh wow, what a trek. We visited Youlgrave whilst staying in Chelmorton at Far Ditch CL site, so easily accessible and close to Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton. On a road between the 515 and A6. Super place and great hosts. The whole area is amazing, particularly if the weather is nice. Being a Kiwi, born in Buxton I have may relatives in Buxton, and Bakewell. I just love the whole area. We had many caravan breaks in our four visits. Thank you for the memories
Towed our 6 berth Bailey with Dodge Ram 4x4. Very tight and we used the back road for days out which was tight with just the Ram. When leaving we got stuck with a refuse lorry which took a while to manouva past
Hi Margaret, I agree, you wouldnt want to forget the milk eh. I recommend Far Ditch CL site in Chelmorton. Close to amazing sites, plus Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne, Matlock etc. Good luck
The villages are very pretty around that area and the views very nice too. I love all the stone brickwork on the houses. All the time I was hoping another vehicle wasn't going to come from the other direction whilst you navigated that narrow road. On the other hand I think it was worth it because the site looked so spacious and peaceful when you did eventually get there. It's a place I think I could easily stay at for a while, just to enjoy the tranquillity and beautiful scenery.
Most enjoyable thanks for the ride beautiful site spread over a great space, did not see Electric hook ups only in a very few places, take care keep safe live live ,John 🌹👏🇬🇧👀🥂😜🦮🦮🌧🌧
Bob this brought back memories of driving my American 4x4 with a twin axle down this lane. My Irish setter had never seen anything get so close to his domain in the back. He was not happy. I spent the stay worrying about getting out. I go to Chatsworth now if I am in the area . Although a this was a decade ago I am now very vigilante about approaches to sites. Keep up the good work.
Oh my goodness, you went past the lane we live on. Wish I'd known, I would have come out to wave lol.😂 So strange, but wonderful to see you traveling the roads I use most days. Some of these lanes certainly test your metal don't they? Especially in a motorhome. 👍 Makes you wonder how they get the caravans there, we've had a the odd tight spot sometimes in our car when we've come face to face with a tractor on some lanes. Well done to Jenny on the editing. Also, if you ever get the chance in the future, Haddon Hall is a must for history lovers. I was hoping I was going to see film of it, 😊 I loved the last one in the cave.
That was the first site I went to in my brand new motorhome more or less 19 years ago to the day. It was a good job the bridge under the High Peak trail from the A515 end was high enough, as I flew through blissfully not considering the height of my new vehicle. I'm watching from a CL near Haworth in that exact same van!
It was lovely to see you Bob, sorry I didn’t like to come a knocking to see Jenny and Poppy didn’t think it appropriate so say hi to them for me please. Great video really shows how tight it is but lovely scenery if people are brave enough ha ha.
Some tight spots on that road in. Looks a lovely site though. May try that one. We recommend Lickpenny if you are up that way again. Lovely place for Poppy 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev
Just glad you didn’t meet any of those parked cars coming the other way. Didn’t see any passing places. Can’t imagine how they delivered those static caravans. As for storage facilities 🤔 wouldn’t like to use that road every time we hitch up & return 🙈
Always enjoy your mini adventures. Plenty of good tips and advice on eating out and what to see. I have just come back from Ashbourne but was unaware of the stepping stones in Bakewell. I will now return to visit Bakewell.
We were on the heights of Abraham end of June. Plenty of other dogs and their owners including our own Westie Darcey. I have some lovely photos of Darcey enjoying the views from the cable car as well as on the very top viewing platform.
Hi Both. Just got back from the Bakewell site. It is in a lovely spot - very quiet. If you are still there the walk to the river from the site is a must. We have just uploaded our video on the walk and the trip out to Robin Hood's Stride. Hope you have a restful time. TFS
Can you give more information on what a camping and caravan club site is ? I’ve just found your videos and watched a few.You seem like a very sensible and balanced couple.
I drove down there not long after I got my motorhome, I was terrified, there were cars/vans parked all over the place, it is downhill too. I spent the few days I was there panicking about how I was going to get back up the hill past the vehicles, but actually on the day it wasn’t too bad! :)
Hi Bob,Jenny & Poppy makes you wonder how they got all those statics there :) On the Friday this video was put on our Clitheroe w/e was cancelled we managed to get one at Temple Bruer Sleaford and a 2 1/2 journey took us 6 hours to get there with all the festival traffic nightmare.
Driven through Youlgreave a few times towing our caravan on the way to our little weekend bolt hole at Hartington. We are 40 foot long all together so it was very interesting on the occasion we met a tractor towing a live stock trailer right on that corner where the church is. 🙈
Love these drives in but omg so narrow to get there. If you met someone coming the other way it wouldn't be fun. Keep sharing these great trips, thanks.
Hi Richard, it reminded me of our trips to Devon talk about hold your breath. In fact whilst exiting our site in East Portlemouth I actually walked ahead in case we met the schoolbus, which should have already been through, but you now how it is lol.
Tom Cruise was just up the road recently at Middleton where they filmed the train crash in the quarry for the next Mission Impossible film due out next year.
Hi guys you can stay at the Bakewell agricultural centre the pitches are on the right as you drive in There is a sign up with a chaps number on you have to ring And on the left you have the travellers site you don’t really want to be parking in there ? Take care great vlog
Oh dear.....those height barriers and all that empty land at 9:20. Shameful waste. Britain is going to have to move into the 21st century and start opening up more now it's made touring in Europe so much more difficult.
That approach does seem a bit of a challenge especially when towing a car . But excellent info for anyone thinking of going to that site . We were in Bakewell and noticed that the showground there is also a motorhome site just outside the town centre. Great place if have bikes check out the Monsal Trail known for its very long tunnels.
I remember this 'tricky bit' as in my wisdom I booked this site the first ever time I towed my first caravan. It was interesting especially when I met some cars coming up the hill as I was going down.... nice site though.
Guess who followed the sat nav and went on the road to hell, the A515 it was horrendous. I loved Bakewell though and would go back on the proper route 😅

Your camera must be on fast or you're driving Loops fast on the video
No, I'm sticking within speed limits, I'm no speed demon! The wide camera angle probably makes it look faster than it is.
