Edit: Spelled "Valkyrie" right. No wonder people aren't finding this video.
Love the Young Frankenstein reference. Really miss the days when video games referenced quite a lot of non-contemporary media.
which quote/reference are the young frankenstein?
@@springfieldpervert2736 "Blucher!" *horse neighs in return for some reason*
@@michaelandreipalon359 aha ok thanks! cheers!
@@springfieldpervert2736 You're welcome.
That's because that's all there was. Now that pop and nerd culture is mainstream, there are references to everything everywhere that everyone knows. Back then you picked a reference you and your friends knew about and if it was popular everyone knew it, and if not it was a "deep cut"
I think Valkerys are kind of Vikings that couldnt transform to ground units. It wpuld be nice if Vikings had this female voice on SC2
I know what you mean I kind of miss how they got rid of Valkyries in Sc2. I honestly wish starcraft let us choose between if he wanted to play classical units or SC2 units.
Yeah, the Liberator didn’t do the Valks justice
@@orrenpiper3103 100% agree
I hope Mercy’s VA will be voicing the Valkyrie pilot in SC2.
@@superfrycook6360 hmm? StarCraft II was already released like years ago. I do not believe there's a valkyrie pilot in the game. Well technically in the game files there is a valkyrie but it's not the base game.

This quote lives rent free in my mind.

She is 🥺
Who's your mommy?
I wish the Valkyrie will be added in SC2.
Same it would have been nice to have all original units in the game. I wish the game lets you customize your army by choosing between a ritual starcraft units and starcraft 2.
@@SeanKula The Liberator is highly based on the Valkyrie's from Brood War, their air to air missiles do splash too!
@@mattduncan7727 Yeah but it doesn't feel the same, I personally just loved watching their barrage kind of attack going wild
@@Lishty17 So it's bad because according to your subjective feeling it is not the same, even though it does the same thing.
@@durshurrikun150 I'm not saying "it's bad" I'm just saying I liked looking the rockets visually :I
When I was a kid, I thought she was Russian or French. After hearing "Ja Voir" and the movie "Schindler's list" I found out she was German all along. 2024. I found out the actress Debra De Liso is realistically an Italian woman and she was doing voice acting with the accent. Incredible. Remarkable. Such high talent and skill.
She is beautiful
She is mine. How dare.
She is literally 30 pixels
@@TheDemonOfSemen men are simple creatures
Calm down son, she's just a drawing
Down bad
Jawohl!
'Of course my dear' she says, not 'mein herr', I believe.
Listening to it a few times, I don't hear anything like a d-sound in there - so I think the written quote to be accurate. But I remember thinking the same thing growing up with the game.
Her starcraft wiki page with her quotes has it as 'mein herr' and considering she has other german words and that I can clearly hear the 'ein' part in mein not making it my, it's 'mein herr'
Wassup with the horse sound?
From what I understand it, it's a reference to a gag from "Young Frankenstein" (which in turn surely took reference from something I'm not familiar with) - in which whenever Frau Blücher's (or just Blücher) is mentioned, its followed by horse sounds for cinematic effect
@@turboepicgamedump7501 I thought it’s because valkyries ride horses
@@goodguycwyzz4768
I think that depiction depends on which authors you read dealing with Nordic mythology. From the fairly baseline stuff I read (streamlined mythology books for beginners) there was no overt depictions of Valkyries riding anything; but rather being sort of spirits of fallen warriors. But I'm aware of some other, perhaps more contemporarily relevant, depictions from other Icelandic poets and traditions.
But it could be that you're right, though I myself find the film reference explain it well enough; that the German word for glue stir up the horses to neigh in discontent :)
Look up a starcraft unit references video you will find it there.

@0:31 Blücher!
Bluha
That used to freak me out as a kid cuz I didn't understand what it meant. But after watching the unit voice lines video explained.

Sir, please upload more SC1 vids of this kind!
💪❤️
is she a german?
Russian
@@infinitymusik7514 The terran has been in another galaxy for a long time, it's close it's impossible for her to have a Russian accent and especially in the future where many languages will disappear and I think there was no Russia in 2500 before ued. too
@@infinitymusik7514 hut ok
@@infinitymusik7514 then why is she speaking german?
She said ,,Achtung, Mein Herr, Jawohl"
That's German.
BLUCHER!! LOL!!🤣🤣🤣
Where is Sehr Gut? What a miss
There's no such voice line in the standard game, and I can't recall the Valkyrie having any campaign-specific lines :)
That means, you are not old enough, I guess? I remember, maybe in russian version (can't remember), maybe not. There was such line. This is how I remember her voice :) Anyways, it's not that important tho, just a miss to me
