After a 14 months using a Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k I feel like it's a good time to compare it to my old go to camera the Panasonic G7. See how they stack up in a straightforward commercial shootout.
I sometimes still use the g7 and we pump it through the asassin to get 700mbps. Really helps with user error. Hell, I sometimes stick a gf2 in places and nobody could ever tell.
The G7 with a 25mm 1.7 lens can do wonders! Most people watch videos on a phone anyways, so why pay more for the blackmagic?
I understand that. Ultimately it's whatever works best for you. That all being said though, the flexibility of shooting in a smart raw format is pretty incredible. While there is a little more cost and set up involved than a camera like a G7, it's simply able to capture images that the G7 cannot. Not to mention at the time of recording it was punching way above its weight. In recent years there's been some great competition making high end footage capture achievable on a smaller and smaller budget.
I will be honest though, this video I made years ago does a horrible job at proving that point. I think ultimately I just wanted to make 2 goofy videos and put it together in a format that I had hoped people would watch, not the best.
You put a lot of work in this video. I appreciate it. Don't stop making videos. Might I suggest using helpful titles like, "Which camera is better for UA-cam?....." since that's a topic that most people want to watch to start rather than Commercials. There are more people researching about youtube making rather than commercials, that would use higher-end cameras anyways rather than the two you're comparing. Anyways, I subscribed!
Panasonic g7 has focus peeking on manual. its like a green highlight
What kind of lens do you use with your G7?
Meike 12mm f2.8, Meike 35 mm f1.7, Rokinon 50mm T1.5, Rokinon 24mm T1.5 for the most part.

It does. However it can be hard to tell with that super small screen. Especially in this case when filming myself so I couldn't make adjustments on the fly that.

Hey thanks. That song is called "Day of Anger". I licenced it from Audio Network. For the non monetization option, it was $10 USD. Also I was actually just in Germany a little over a week ago. Returning to Canada from Norway when this whole pandemic started to take over.

@@NathanCarterVids ah okay. In my opinion one of the most beautiful cities in Germany ist munic. I think Berlin and Hamburg are also very beautiful cities but I have not been there yet :) I think intersting to see is the cologne cathedrale...very historical and beautiful view from the top. In general I would say southern germany is the most beautiful part of the country. Btw I live in west Germany near cologne. So in southern Germany I can recommend the Alps, Tegernsee, Oberstdorf, Neuschwanstein castle....but also wine regions in Rheinland-Pfalz are beautiful. It depends on what you want so see :) I think there are a lot of possibilities. Btw Auschwitz is also very interesting to visit if you are interested in German history, especially world war 2.

G7 is not à cinéma camera or very good for commercial but more for UA-cam vidéos or maybe vlog but not i think for me for metrage or commercial video
