Inside: the hallways are too narrow; the kitchen is way too small - I didn't see an area to eat in the kitchen other than the small peninsula; that long narrow bathroom on the second floor(I think) had an odd layout - the tub; basin and toilet were clustered together against the back wall of the bathroom w/a bunch of unused space in the rest of the bathroom; no wash and dry hook-up(???); the rooms were a good sizes but the design was bland. The whole layout of the house was just weird to me. Looks like a bed & breakfast setup instead of a home. The only "hit" is the backyard area.

The one room with all the closets is probably a dressing room for the Master Bedroom, installing an island with drawers and a large mirror would complete the look. The unfinished area over the garage would be an awesome for someone who runs an online business. There are somethings I like about the house.
The smallest room with closets I would think was a dressing room. For this size home and it is large I would think a larger kitchen with adequate prep area plus a butler's pantry would seem useful. Agree with others more detail planning changes would be needed based on how one plans to live in this home. A man cave would be nice for the room over the garage with a bath room. Or that area could be an office/library study for who would use the owners suite. Another idea since there are 3 garages, an area within the garage for a mud room with a half bath for changing shoes, wet boots and wet clothes. An additional laundry room above ground level with space for cleaning tools, iron, cabinets etc. Yes changes would be needed. For the square footage and land I think the price is on point. No bathrooms on the 3rd floor with 4 bedrooms is not acceptable. The outside is nice looking. The 2nd floor is oddly laid out. There is quite a bit of potential. I kind of like it.
Great house. has a lot of potential. Asking price is reasonable and if I had the money, I would definitely buy. The Bedroom with closet at(10:39 ), needs to be redone and the two side closets needs to be taken out to open the space. I think the dividing wall at (16:38) needs to be taken out to open the space and improve the hallway. Also the bathrooms (11:44 and 12:48) could be turned into a single shared bathroom to improve space and widen the hallways. The hallways are too narrow.
I agree Johnathan, it has that old plantation historic vibe at the front, not feeling it to say the least, I like the back of the house better than the front, a bit mazy with twists and turns with some odd rooms. If you're into that historic plantation feeling, then go for it, I wouldn't be interested! Sorry folks that's just my personal opinion! Call me a negative Nancy! Great job Johathan!

I have been loving watching you in those homes that you have been sawing, some awesome, some scary, especially those older homes, and yes, I be saying..."go on Jonathan and walk step on in those showers" lol. So far I like what I see in the home that you are showing right now, I'm waiting on some rooms that may look scary, and you are bold to walk through some of those older homes, kudos to you. Be safe. It's cheaper than I thought. I would give the 2nd floor, it looks like they were going with a primary room approach. I would move a bathroom to the 3rd floor removing one from the 2nd floor. The small oven is a warmer.I would use the top floor as an attic storage, how it's meant to be.
I love the yard, but don’t like the house at all. It seems cheaply tacky compared with what’s expected from outside grandiosity. There’s new paint on the walls and clean bathrooms, but they don’t seem sensitively designed or offer warmth and comfort. This isn’t just a vacant house, IMO it would feel vacant when full of people. I would hate to live here. I’m creeped out. It would never be a home with vibrant inhabitants. I wonder if this house was used for diplomats, where they’d be rotating in and out every three years. So, they wouldn’t care about the superficiality (except that it’s clean), and would need those closed porch areas for entertaining.

The whole thing says, "intimate wedding venue" because of the roof top deck, coy pond, pool, large grass zone, 'forest-like' area as it is set so very far back from the road, the traditional elegance style, the warming drawer in the kitchen, butler's pantry, two four seasons rooms, so many bedrooms, on and on. I'm surprised that the asking price was only $1.1m.
IMO home appraisals should reflect potential for energy efficiency. At least these folks have taken a baby step in that direction by making the kitchen all-electric and using some scattered heat pumps. Ducting would be a more significant choice, though. It looks like there's potential for solar. What about insulation? Some homes you could never make energy efficient. By now, this should be a downside. Some homes would be too costly to make energy efficient, because of past decisions by home owners not to consider the necessity in their "upgrades". Some homes have significant potential for energy efficiencies, like a sunny roof, yard space, wall space for insulation, or existing ducting. If not appraisal, home sellers/buyers should be getting independent evaluations of the home's potential for energy efficiency, with detailed checklist.
Can't imagine what the utility bills are to heat and cool that place. That room with all the closets and bathroom is not a bedroom. It is for general storage and use by everyone. You, yourself noted how small the closets in the bedrooms are.

Maybe I'm jaded from NY prices but at that price point as long as the house isn't historically protected and an architect could help with the flow I think it is worth the investment. A house that size needs a bigger kitchen but there is more than enough space to adjust and update. I wouldn't have that over the garage area for a stranger but maybe an older teenager/college student age could have their own space (although in my head I already had a home gym/Pilates studio laid out). I think the dog may be to keep teenagers/kids away from the pool not deer :). The house and all that land makes is a hit with an asterisk for me. ETA I think that room was supposed to be a dressing room but they should have just updated it all the way instead of leaving those folding doors and cheap lighting. They missed the mark half stepping it.
The bedroom levels could be more practical. The third level doesn't have a bathroom, which probably explains why the second level has two large bathrooms. For the price, it doesn't seem bad for that area. I actually thought it was going to be more expensive. It will take a particular buyer who appreciates historical properties to purchase that house. It was a miss for me only because the primary bedroom at the top of the stairs didn’t appear to have a closet or a bathroom. You did miss a major door way in that room opposite the balcony doors. Once you saw the doors to outside you got a little too excited LOL and missed it. I did like the kitchen and outside space.
Beautiful home I would gut renovate the inside bring it up to code and modernize it but still maintain the charm of the inside...Paint the exterior, put a better fence where the balcony meets the apartment and finish the apartment above the garage...Alot of potential and money if you can afford a property like this.
@khanysafan1705 you can keep the hard wood floors, keep some of the cabinets to maintain the charm of the house...modernize the stairs, the pool, the garage and bring the electrical up to code if you have the right Architectural design and Architect it can be done
I cook my turkey in an electric roaster. Frees up the oven for everything else. I know several people who use the electric roaster, I can think of 5 off hand.
I love the land and the fact the house is sitting to the back. Overall not a a bad home. Too old for me. Looks a lil haunted to me lol. Love the sub rooms. Too many ways to access the inside of the house that raise a safety issue. Quite a bit renovations to do on the property. For me it is a MISS!
Was there any bathrooms on the 3rd floor....4 bedrooms, no bathroom unless i missed it but the closet room is definitely not a bedroom. Still a nice home and as someone mentioned the grounds are really nice. Its a hit but I would gut it, cut down on the living room space , make larger closets ,real pantry,laundry room and make the other half another house to rent or sell. Also I would get rid of the pool too much of a liability.
It's a hit...with some reasonable improvements. 😄 And that first room looks like to only be a walk-in closet. Can't even fit a twin in there comfortably.
It needs renovation. It looks 1980ish. I like the bones, but probably needs $80-90k in updates if you know people. The price does not reflect that. Luv the sun rooms. The bathrooms need to be gutted. I like it!! Great potential.

I really wanted to like the inside of this house but it’s a miss for me…that first level of bedrooms with the two baths and closet room was really awkward. And the main floor was just “ehhhhhh”….except for the sunroom areas which were fabulous. I would gut the house to give it better flow and purpose to some of the rooms and modernize it while trying to keep some of the original charm and architecture. Also, the swimming pool area functionally had some challenges with its size and location…even with older kids, you still want to be able to keep an eye on them when swimming and you can’t do that from the main house. The lot was lovely…it just needed some better landscaping. I did like the placement of the home off the road…it was nice to see it so secluded…I will say the price point is attractive in that it would allow the buyer some room to be able to make the type of changes needed to make the home more functional. Oh...the porches were great as well.
The house needs a full renovation. Anybody who bought this house would only buy it if they had the extra funds to make this old house into a dream house. The layout feels like it was from 1903; and unless the area is fantastic for my family, I wouldn't buy it. On another note, all that land on the property is beautiful - 2 acres!
Somebody either DIY’d this house or hired a subpar contractor because it looks decent, but thrown together without any “professional” styling or design. Very peculiar and it’s almost ruined.
A miss. The main living room space on the main level is essentially a fancy enclosed porch with a flat roof. Residential flat roofs, especially ones you can walk on, are an ongoing maintenance problem.
Impressive view but upclose...nah...the age really kills it...narrow hallways...like Jonathan's wife would say...no entry appeal...comes right into the narrow ass stairs..with carpet🤮....bathroom right next to dining room....really dumb bathroom on the....porch(that's been converted to a sun room...cool but that bathroom...wtf...whole 2d floor is basically the master bedroom except that 1 lone bedroom and the bathroom configuration is CRAZY!!!....1st room is the closet for the master then u walk around the hallway to the bathroom then the master🤦🏿♂️....no bathroom on the 3d floor but u could house a basketball team up there...love the 2 acres and 3 car buuuut...naaaaah...I have more to say but I'm dun
Kinda overly critical. This is a really old house that’s been redone o clearly it won’t be super modern and a modern interior wouldn’t even look right. It is nice considering age.
Beautiful house but it's a MISS for me. Cooking without gas is a deal breaker/ closets too small/ didn't see a laundry room. You forgot to see where the doggie door exit. Kitchen too small for the size of that house. I would have to hire an architect to refigure the house and not sure if it's worth it. What I should've led with is houses that resemble plantations I get spiritually sick feelings.
Interesting. For me, having a gas stove is a deal breaker! It's not energy efficient at all, and there is increasing research on poor air quality in homes that have gas stoves, even if vented, and even if they are the fad-du-jour variety. It seems the owners of this house are current with that thinking. It's reflected in their choice to use heat pumps as well. I wholeheartedly applaud their choice of an electric stove. Now, the home needs solar to supply the house and the pool.
@sleuththewild I've cooked with electric food 2 years and didn't like it at all. Unfortunately gas may not be energy efficient but the somehow my food cooks better. The present is a reflection that maybe all stoves will be energy efficient but until that day comes I shall never rent or buy a house without gas ⛽️😉.

The house looks nice I love the kitchen and the grounds and it's a great price. I would hate to have to go into the basement to wash because I didn't notice a washer and dryer in the upper levels of the house it's just not a hit for me

This house is a lot cheaper than I had expected. The kitchen is too small for the size of the house. It is a very nice house from the outside.
Its a hit but I would gut it, cut down on the living room space , make larger closets ,real pantry,laundry room and make the other half another house to rent or sell. Also I would get rid of the pool too much of a liability.
It's a hit...with some reasonable improvements. 😄 And that first room looks like to only be a walk-in closet. Can't even fit a twin in there comfortably.
It needs renovation. It looks 1980ish. I like the bones, but probably needs $80-90k in updates if you know people. The price does not reflect that. Luv the sun rooms. The bathrooms need to be gutted. I like it!! Great potential.
I love the way you do your video you are the number one doing it, but I do have one complaint I need to see more videos believe me the moment you put out a video I don't care what I am watching later for it . that house is good but that's too big for me.

I really wanted to like the inside of this house but it’s a miss for me…that first level of bedrooms with the two baths and closet room was really awkward. And the main floor was just “ehhhhhh”….except for the sunroom areas which were fabulous. I would gut the house to give it better flow and purpose to some of the rooms and modernize it while trying to keep some of the original charm and architecture. Also, the swimming pool area functionally had some challenges with its size and location…even with older kids, you still want to be able to keep an eye on them when swimming and you can’t do that from the main house. The lot was lovely…it just needed some better landscaping. I did like the placement of the home off the road…it was nice to see it so secluded…I will say the price point is attractive in that it would allow the buyer some room to be able to make the type of changes needed to make the home more functional. Oh...the porches were great as well.
it's a miss. the plantation look. the narrow stairs and passages. the carpeting. the pet issue. that weird room over the garage.
The house needs a full renovation. Anybody who bought this house would only buy it if they had the extra funds to make this old house into a dream house. The layout feels like it was from 1903; and unless the area is fantastic for my family, I wouldn't buy it. On another note, all that land on the property is beautiful - 2 acres!

Somebody either DIY’d this house or hired a subpar contractor because it looks decent, but thrown together without any “professional” styling or design. Very peculiar and it’s almost ruined.
I'd turn it into a retirement living compound for a premium price.

A miss. The main living room space on the main level is essentially a fancy enclosed porch with a flat roof. Residential flat roofs, especially ones you can walk on, are an ongoing maintenance problem.
You just have to seal a flat roof well and you shouldn’t have too many issues. Use Gaco roof coating and it’ll never leak. Trust me on that.

Impressive view but upclose...nah...the age really kills it...narrow hallways...like Jonathan's wife would say...no entry appeal...comes right into the narrow ass stairs..with carpet🤮....bathroom right next to dining room....really dumb bathroom on the....porch(that's been converted to a sun room...cool but that bathroom...wtf...whole 2d floor is basically the master bedroom except that 1 lone bedroom and the bathroom configuration is CRAZY!!!....1st room is the closet for the master then u walk around the hallway to the bathroom then the master🤦🏿♂️....no bathroom on the 3d floor but u could house a basketball team up there...love the 2 acres and 3 car buuuut...naaaaah...I have more to say but I'm dun

Kinda overly critical. This is a really old house that’s been redone o clearly it won’t be super modern and a modern interior wouldn’t even look right. It is nice considering age.
The second floor I will guy make a master with closet and bathroom put a on third floor take one of the bedroom and make a bathroom

Beautiful house but it's a MISS for me. Cooking without gas is a deal breaker/ closets too small/ didn't see a laundry room. You forgot to see where the doggie door exit. Kitchen too small for the size of that house. I would have to hire an architect to refigure the house and not sure if it's worth it. What I should've led with is houses that resemble plantations I get spiritually sick feelings.

Interesting. For me, having a gas stove is a deal breaker! It's not energy efficient at all, and there is increasing research on poor air quality in homes that have gas stoves, even if vented, and even if they are the fad-du-jour variety. It seems the owners of this house are current with that thinking. It's reflected in their choice to use heat pumps as well. I wholeheartedly applaud their choice of an electric stove. Now, the home needs solar to supply the house and the pool.
@sleuththewild I've cooked with electric food 2 years and didn't like it at all. Unfortunately gas may not be energy efficient but the somehow my food cooks better. The present is a reflection that maybe all stoves will be energy efficient but until that day comes I shall never rent or buy a house without gas ⛽️😉.
