A very rare occasion when the title of the video delivers exactly what it promised 💯
I own the Excite 51, had it 3 months now, best car I've ever owned, tweaking EQ and using Android Auto with Spotify makes it sound 100 times better, the take off power is still great, biggest thing played down in reviews is how fast off the line EVs are, the base model MG4 feels 4 times faster than my old turbo diesel car, so for a everyday runabout car, it's ace 😊
We bought the Essence 64. It has more than enough extra to cover the extra cost. (Safety features, cloth inserts in the seats, sound system, faster charging) The Essence gets a wireless hot spot too (not sure why) and the refined firmware became available for the Essence well before the Excite (I believe). The recharging from 20 to 80 from the home charger finishes well before the 6 hour that the $0.08c overnight rate ends. (Midnight to 6:00A.M.)
An LFP long range. LFP or no thanks.
I too would buy LFP over NMC.
Thank you Chris, very well put. I bought an Ora which has just about all the toys and I would say the rear cross traffic alert is a must if one is parking in supermarket car parks alongside jumping castle sized SUVs. Not just the alert but also automatic rear alert braking.

I wonder if today's announcement by Peugeot that they will massively reduce the price of E-2008 GT SUV by $20K+ to $40K drive away over the next 2 months will impact MG4 sales.
We have the MG4 Long Range. It is a great car at an affordable price.

Good comparison review. However I would only consider MG4 (Essence 64) if MG improves on the infotainment system, and modifies the interior (especially the backseats) brighter with lights. It's just too dark and gloomy.

PS The Excite seems to use a LFP battery, vs Essence uses NMC.
Are LFP/NMC equal in safety eg in respect to catching fire etc?

Left the most important info out lol. LFP only on the cheap one. Conclusion: get Tesla LFP or any BYD

If Tesla had EVs in this price bracket, absolutely agree. However cheapest new Tesla is ~ $63K to $66K (M3 & MY respectively). I'll be curious to see what their next "cheaper" EV will be.
@@chrisvanderstock Maybe the app on the top model MG4 makes up for non LFP battery. Does the App allow you to set stop charging to 80%?
