Crash Team Racing Super Hard Mode Part 1: To Lose is to Win

- Super Hard Mode: Hold L1 + R1 and press Down, Right, Left, Up, X, Right in the title screen. A "ding" will appear when it is entered correctly.
This is just me playing through all of the levels on super hard mode. Look up "crash team racing cheats" to find it, as well as easily unlocking all of the characters, levels, and other goodies. Granted, if you 100% the adventure mode, then you'll get everything anyway, except for the infinite wumpa fruit/invincibility/invisibility, etc. - Ігри
I bet it will feel awesome to trick your friends like that! :D Having the 7 other racers as bosses sounds like it would be a lot of fun as well!
Don't worry, you can use it in adventure mode :) To use the cheat in adventure mode, select "adventure" in the main menu, then on the screen where you see "new game" and "load game" input the cheat that you want (such as super hard mode), and then that cheat will be activated :)
I wish arcade mode was more difficult. Beating Oxide's times is somewhat difficult, but eventually manageable. At least it's competitive. Super hard mode isn't even competitive if you are good.
How do you actually know when you're on super hard mode? I typed in the cheat and then clicked arcade but the difficulty options are still only easy med hard
@RootDubz93 When you type in the code there should be a "ding" sound. When this happens, go to "hard" for the difficulty, and it should work :)
I activated the super hard mode in the "Adventure > New/Load" screen, but the other racers in the first track were still in easy mode.
Hmm, make sure when you put in the code, you hear a "ring" or "beep." If you did, then maybe try resetting the game and re-doing the code.
Poz159 I restarted the game and it seemed to work. The game's still easy though, I hoped it was really hard, like you needed to do more or less a perfect game and use tons of items, but I can win without using items at all. Too bad.
Thanks for the tip~

Yeah, unfortunately, the AI is still quite easy when you are really good at the game. At your skill level, the best competition would be other people. It'd be cool if this game was given an HD remake, and able to add a multiplayer system. I doubt it'd happen, but it'd be cool.
Poz159 Yea, it'd be cool, but that's just a mere dream, lol. Now what I find pretty hard are some of the relic races (for the platinum ones), 'cos it's not like I'm a pro at the game, I simply found out that the way to go is drifting all the race long or as much as you can, it will keep you at the highest speed during the whole race!
Astérix Vader
Definitely! As long as you use the drift boost, you can make ANY shortcut (as long as you don't need an attack weapon). Once you learn how to use the drift boosts efficiently, as well as the jump boost at a jump, you can blaze through the competition.
For adventure mode, you don't need to select "hard" for the "super hard mode" cheat to work.
Is there a special reason why you chose Fake Crash? ;) I thought that you maybe do not like Pura. :D SHM is actually only "good" as long as you do not use any shortcuts... But it is still better than "normal" mode... I tried it in Adventure but I realized not many changes... Even Ripper Roo was not more challenging than in "normal" mode...
At the time Fake Crash was my main that I used, plus I liked the fact that he was the opposite of the main protagonist. I've since moved on to using Dingodile, though boosting and drifting with him makes everything even easier that it already is. I've gone through the shortcuts so many times that I find it hard not to use them haha.
Ok that explains everything.^^ My favourite is Tiny Tiger. With Tiny i consequently got better platinum times in adventure than with Dingodile. I cannot explain it because they have the same driving skills...^^ Have you realized any differences in driving with Dingodile or Tiny? Yeah, I agree totally^^ In tiger temple I always open the shortcut if I have the right item at the moment. Finally, SHM makes no sense at levels like Tiger Temple... ;)
kilolum I think it's just the aesthetic look. You are more used to seeing Tiny's sprite more than Dingodile's, so it isn't as distracting to you. We've been conditioned to think that if it's possible to do something faster than before, we do it that way. For example, I always take the shortcut in Blizzard Bluff even if I don't have Aku Aku or Uka Uka (only if I have dingodile) simply because Dingo and Tiny are able to make it without any speed boost items. Even if it's hard to do, if it's faster, I do it lol.
Yeah, when I drive on an empty highway in Germany and there is no speedlimit I feel like Tiny Tiger in the turbo tube in Ngin Labor.^^ If I have to overtake a truck in such a situation I sometimes say just for fun "Here comes Tiny". :D I see it in Crash 3 where I try to get better Platinum times than last year. Respectively in CTR I will get all shortcuts for example in Blizzard Bluff in all 7 laps without items. As you said correctly with Tiny, Dingodile and also Papu Papu or N Tropy you need no items for this jump. I got the shortcut over the lake also once with Pura but without any item. That was necessary for Platinum... But Sewer Speedway for example is quite strange. I had full speed (without items) with Tiny and I failed ten times in order to get the shortcut And suddenly I got this jump...
Hahaha XD
der Code macht das Spiel härter, das ist das einzige, was ich tat, und der einzige Code, den ich verwendet :P
English - the code makes the game harder, that's the only thing I did, and the only code I used :P
Nun, es ist ein Cheat, kein Hack. Bei der Eingabe eines Cheats im Titelbild, dann die Schwierigkeit ändert :P
English - Well, it's a cheat, not a hack. When you input a cheat code in the title screen, then the difficulty changes :P
you playing like that doesn't show us what "super hard mode" should look like, i just used the code and i think ONE of the racers were a little bit harder, but I still won without being hit by anything on Roo's Tubes with ease.
Super Hard Mode just makes the enemy AI a little smarter with item usage, and they hop on ledges for a boost more often. It's not a radical change, but is slightly harder. I apologize for not properly showing that in the video
@@Poz159 i didn't watch the video, just 10 seconds of Crash Cove, but the problem is, you were wrong about Adventure Mode, you can't use Super Hard Mode there, i did the code in Arcade and goddamn the AI are all badasses! I've selected one of the slowest characters and i finished 2nd on my first try, which is ridiculous, not even Oxide ghosts can beat me these ays, so the code IS AWESOME!
@@Chris.L.P. When I use the code in Adventure mode, the sound goes off, and the AI seems to be better, but it could be a placebo effect. Some reddit threads and other websites state that it work in Adventure mode, but that doesn't guarantee anything. It's certainly possible that it doesn't work in Adventure mode.
Nonetheless, I'm glad you are enjoying Super Hard Mode! When the code does work, it's a super fun challenge! Makes it more fun to learn and use all the tricks and movement tech and whatnot
@@Poz159 sure, whatever if it doesn't work in adventure mode, it's all finished 100% anyway, using the code on arcade it's just what i wanted to practive for Nitro-Fueled which unfortunately, i haven't been able to play yet coz i don't own a console. I already know every single trick of the original CTR, every legit or glitched/unintended shortcuts, even a few no one else knows about!
