Now that redcat has the ascent 18 I want to know how they face off. Yes I'm understanding the low speed in the brushless over brushed but I bet the outcome will surprise everyone
It is a different chassis than both the FX118 Fury Wagon & the Evo Pro chassis. The dead give away is there is no mounts for body posts & the bottem of the chassis has more material removed by the lower rear links.
@@DTW-bx2vythe body mounts just screw off , all they've done is used the hobbyplus angled chassis, as I've got Both the evo and Fury wagon 🙄 and the evo smashes the Fury all day long on the rocks and trails
these hp/furitek rigs... is it the same chassis as the evo-pro and or fury wagon? I can't imagine its new trans and diff and chassis to eliminate the problems they've always been having. would love to see all your rigs on the incline wall too. helps see if it still has the awful torque twist the others have always come with. Are the bodies interchangeable? People have also been talking a lot about their disappointment with furitek recently; motors running hot and their app not saving and linking correctly. Imagine if injora comes out with a brushed motor/esc combo thats like $45 with their chassis and body as they have all the parts to make an rtr now too would be interesting market competition.
Same angled chassis design as the evo pro but without the body posts, still has the torque twist problem as they don't come with the v2 rear axle, so that's another 50bucks to sort that out,, it's basically the Fury wagon with. Evo chassis and a different body

If only they didn’t add that abomination to the top of the hood and the grill….!!😂 otherwise it looks pretty good. Wish they would do this type of collab with something other than HobbyPlus vehicles. Maybe Axial compatible….??
Are you kidding me? This a body, that is build for years. Since more than 6 months you can get offers under the name of e.g. Firehorse from Absima for 70 bucks in yellow. Red costs some bucks more.It's the old platform from rockhobby, just with servo on axle transformation.
I like how UA-camrs get these from furitek. But the rest of us get them with all types of build issues. I picked up the fx118 and the cayman pro szk and both are built worse than anything from temu.
They used wheels to small for the axles, smashed them on and then the glued the GD wheels on my SZK pro. They needed to be cut off. It was also sent with the wrong parts and damaged parts installed.
That is a perfect example of not purchasing from an actual offerized Furitek dealer. Furitek USA & Heli Direct are the only place I recommend getting Furitek products from. Do not trust any other companies to purchase there products from. It did not pay to try to save a buck & it came back to bit you in the ass, by the sound of your comment.

The problem with the hobbyplus axles is they are finicky with wheels
Not if you use the hobbyplus +10mm stub axles, that are very cheap to buy, then any 1" rim will fit,, or just buy the lizard evo pro to start with

Honestly the chassis have a few differences at the body mounts.
Tires are Mudders or Mudder Xl's depending on size

Furitek katana or the Redcat Ascent 18 right out of the box?
Now all you need is the evo pro. This katana is a mixture of the fury wagon and evo pro. Also i put 64mm foams in these tires and it LOVES it
The Hobby Plus - Evo Pro is pretty good, I changed out the portal axles for the shorter FX118 Fury Wagon versions & it steers far better now.
Have you tried the furitek python x 80a esc with the advertised FOC?
