Regarding 3s on the Venom, I burned mine up pretty quick so definitely check motor temperatures while using it. Reducing drag brake appears to reduce the temperature, and my Fury Wagon doesn't need much anyway to stay still on a hill.
Love this new addition from Furitek! I am NOT a jeep guy, but this looks very cool. I respectfully disagree with those who don’t care for the front grill and lights. I love them. It gives a cool that is hard to find in the mini crawler world. Kudos to Furitek and all they are doing for the hobby! Got mine on order and hope to have it in three (short) weeks. 😮
@@stevenboaz2952 No, Furitek shipped for free because I hit the minimum purchase threshold for free shipping. Hard for me to pay $40 shipping on a $200 purchase! Ouch!
I don't like four-door Jeeps, I really don't like the angry eye headlight/grill but I have to say I love the hinged body mount system and I feel like this truck is what I wanted My Fury wagon to be. Looks great
I swapped out my fx118 with the evo chassis and fighter body, I'm so glad I did, the difference between the 2 is night and day, the evo with the lizard and lcg is unstoppable and there's still plenty of mods to get
Looks like Furitek used the body & body mounting system from one of the Hobby Plus - CR18 models because we have seen this setup used before this model.
I want to incorporate this style body hinge and lock on one of my hardbodies. Looks like it would integrate nicely. Might have to buy a new truck and see how it fits. I just wish for anything but another jeep.
I like what you did there with the inside/outside narration. Breaks up the video in a good way. Have you found a little 3S battery that doesn't require a connector change? I'd like to try my Micro Komodo Rock Van setup on 3S.
I've never had to pay import fees when buying from them. Last order was well into the £500s. Same with AliExpress too. Only time I've been stung with import duties are when buying from the US or from Ireland. Weird
Believe Furitek did well combining scale looks with performance for a good price. The CR18P platform is solid, just need companies to step up with more aftermarket for it. IMO the Jeep is overdone-but it's been received better than the initial power wagon for sure.
It’s interesting to see a LCG chassis with a heavy top heavy body on it. Well it’ll definitely helps it seems counter productive. Seems like now companies are just trying to take advantage of the popularity of the mini crawler market just throwing any body on a LCG chassis the Evo Pro is a good example of what they should look like but it is a good performer & the body is pretty nice so in the end it’s fun to run but the price is to much when you compare it to other mini Crawlers.
Great vid bro! I think this little rig is a good deal at $200, but does it have enough wheel speed to keep up with a walking pace. If so, it would make a killer trail rig.
I'd love to live where you do. All i have close to me are buildings & heavy traffic. Do you have the latest one from furitek yet? It's another expensive one, but this time, it looks pretty good
Yo Matt, Great video! So basically this truck is the brushless version of the evo pro? I have been waiting for the evo pro brushless but now I guess I will just do this instead. The truck is cool in all, but your creek crawl is absolutely epic! I live in Florida and we have a lot of shell so no natural rock formations, so I have to make them.
I have been out of the 1/10 game for a min now but super into 1/18 and “ 1/24” 😂 scales but I’m trying to decide if I should get this or the 1/10 ascent fusion I just got the ascent 1/18 and I hate it 😂 but also at 199 I can’t put a brushless system in my cr18 that cheap so I might as well buy it right ?
What did it actually do for performance compared to the FX118 Fury Wagon chassis? No one on UA-cam yet has done a true performance test on the hill climbing performance between the FX118 Fury Wagon & the Evo Pro.
Which truck would you say is the best RTR to start with, for the money?- Furiteck or your FCX18 LC80? Would you rather upgrade all plastic links etc on the dearer Fury or upgrade FMS to brushless, if that's necessary. I think FMS is best value out the box personally. What do you think Matt? Great channel BTW👍
nice looking body. same ol issues from HP/Furitek with no new innovations. Always like your videos and my opinion on the rig has nothing to do with how well you do your vids. Things they missed; magnets for the lights that fms now has. missing the opposite driveshaft rotation. Battery could have gone upfront if they didn't have that latch and big brace. The chassis is fine and doesn't need changes, its how they put it together they missed the mark.
I love the body mount system. I'm a Jeep guy (full size and RC) but I just can't stand the angry birds/grumper grill on this. BTW - I've been running 3S only from day one on the venom in my FX118 with no problems
I’m picking an Evo pro over this 9/10. The wrangler is bleh now. Especially with the grumped grill. But anybody saying this is a low quality product or junk, compare to axials micros. Even fms. Hobbyplus/furitek have been banging these rigs out with updates each release.
Does none of you review guys have or know the Hobby Plus Kratos? This body is the old Kratos body (truck meanwhile sold for 80 on promotion here). This is no new body mounting system but 3 or 4 years old. Why does nobody of the propaganda guys mention this?
Never really ran hobbyplus until the last yr or so. There wasn’t enough aftermarket support for them for me. I’ve still never seen anyone in the US sell them in a shop. They just aren’t supported here. Didn’t necessarily mean it’s brand new to the hobby. Nothing much is anymore. Just something new to the Furitek/hobbyplus lineups. Still not a huge fan of the Hobbyplus platform for custom builds. I think they should go a different way but they stuck on these builds atm.

It'd be interesting to compare this thing to the CR-18 Evo Pro, or the FX118 Fury Wagon. A battle video soon ? 😋
It's a mixture of the fury and evo pro
Perfect way to start the week, thank you.
Love it I ordered mine a week ago I'm super excited to get mine can't wait

Yeah I have one in hand. Haven’t gotten any real run time with it yet. Something crazy dropping soon and been putting a lot of time into it 😉
With the furytek system in this I think it’s a great deal.👍🏼

Not sure really. I’ll have to play around with a few
Hi Matt, nice footage 👍🏻 Like this rig a lot, pre-ordered mine last week. How about torque twist? Waiting for more to come regarding mods etc 😉
Torque twist is still an issue. Wish they’d just stop using the cr18 platform honestly. Those axles twist worse than any imo
