    I agree with the other poster that the tutorial jumps back and forth and is a bit confusing when you have little to no knowledge on sewing. That being said, your video is the best for hand sewing I’ve seen. It was very informative. I just would’ve rather seen the 2 masks done separately. Thanks for your video.

    Treasurie Please know I really appreciate you showing this. My husband is 72 and I'm 60 and I don't know how to sew. We've only found mask once and we bought the last two the man had.. I am so great full to you. My disabled brother needs one and now I can make couple for him and extras for us. Bless you, stay safe, and peace be with you.

    Hey, if your like me and don't want/can't use an iron to press the folds, you can use a mug of hot water.
    With either option be careful!
    Also, this tutorial is awesome. I'm gonna get to stitching right now ;)

    Thank you *so much* for your tutorial and video. I hand sewed this mask back when all this started. I was going through a rough time. But I was determined to sew myself a mask so I could go outside. I’ve been wearing it ever since. I appreciate the detailed instructions for the hand stitching.
    Since then I’ve been gifted professionally made masks. But your pattern is my favorite mask, the most comfortable. I’ve received compliments on it from strangers. Now I’m making 2 more for family and a friend. Thank you thank you thank you!

    This was an awesome tutorial! Super helpful despite having never picked up a needle or thread in my life.
    In following the CDC's guidance on using "tightly-woven fabrics" - I made this out of an old pair of flannel pyjamas! Worked Great!!
    Didn't have any elastic so I just cut two long strips of fabric and tie the ends behind my head when I wear it. Many thanks!!

    Thank you so much for making this easy to follow, well paced, visually appealing video. I especially appreciate that instructions are written rather than spoken. I’ve watched at least 15 other videos and yours is by far the best. It would be super helpful if you could split the videos - I'm desperately trying to sew for the first time and the back and forth makes it really confusing. I appreciate your effort and video, and I'm grateful for it, this is just really frustrating for someone who doesn't know what they're doing. Maybe a more streamlined tutorial would be easier for us that are hopeless crafters

    I'd recommend watching the whole video first. I have a dinosaur pattern and just followed along as the video was playing assuming the longer edge of style #1 would be the horizontal edge only to discover that it's on the vertical and if I finish this my dinosaurs will be sideways :( Wasted 40 min of time and fabric, I wish I knew where my sewing machine pedal was.

    It was so confusing the way you went back and forth. Why not just one at a time? 🤔

      In hindsight I agree :) Thanks for watching anyway.

    Hi! Can someone tell me which style is easier to make?

      Jessica Duarte-Paiz I made both masks, and I definitely find that the face mask #1 (mask with filter) was easiest. Less sewing involved with that one! But honestly, they both were pretty simple!

    What happens if you don’t have an iron??

      I've had a few people comment that it worked without an iron.

    For #1, what size of material do you need?

    Nice tutorial. Any other ways besides making a knot with the elastic? I have 1/4 inch elastic but want it to look clean. (Perfectionist)

    • @treasurie
      @treasurie  4 роки тому +1

      Feed the end of the knot through the casing. Just make the casing a tiny bit wider.

    Another perfect video. Thank you. I was able to download the song from your last face mask video “Beauty Lives in Me” because that song had lyrics. The song with this video is great, however, it’s is an instrumental. No clue as to the name of the piece. Would you please share the title and artist with me. 🙏🏽

    Is there a way to do this without having an iron?

    • @treasurie
      @treasurie  4 роки тому

      Yes just fold it. It will still work fine.

    For style #2, is both fabrics quilted cotton or only the blue fabric? And also, would you be able to put in a filter for #2 once ur done making the the folds since the side is still open?

    • @treasurie
      @treasurie  4 роки тому +1

      Yes both of my samples are quilting cotton. The side will get folded over so won't be open at the end.

    I was given a kit with 1/4 inch ribbon. Do I sew each of 4 12 inches pieces to each corner?

    • @treasurie
      @treasurie  4 роки тому

      Yes that will work for around the ears. The other option is to make the ties really long and tie them behind the head.
