    Hi Shannon, i love your art work, you are obviously a talented artist, can I just offer some advice from a photographer & printers point of view, the reason your card prints don’t seem to offer accurate colours, it’s because your using a printer designed for photographs, for you to get more accurate colours & brightness you need to use photo card designed for greetings cards, just like photo papers from Epson & others the photo card & papers have the same type of coatings for the ink to adhere to the paper and card, if you type in Photo card for ink jet printing you will be able to use this to better results with your Epson ET 8500, good luck 😉

    I enjoy watching your videos in the morning while I’m having coffee. Your drawings are so beautiful. Congratulations on your new printer. I wonder if a smoother paper will give you the look you’re looking for with the printer. I’m pretty sure it should take the ink better. I wonder is hot pressed water color paper would do well. It might be a good idea for framed drawings since that would bring in more money since that paper is a little expensive.

    Hi Shannon, thanks so much for your informative videos, you really helped me decide on buying a scanner. I’ve just recently purchased a printer and doing the same with researching papers etc. You probably already know this, but reproducing accurate colours on the paper can be tricky. In order to achieve this, I heard about monitor calibration and ICC profiles talked about a lot. Keith Cooper has great videos explaining these and certain printers in detail. ❤

I think I've watched some of his videos and I still couldn't get my head round the ICC profiles for some reason the prints come out really strange when I try using them 😆 I'm sure I'll figure it all out eventually! Thank you for your help I think I need to watch some more videos 🥰🤍

    Hi Shannon. Still getting used to this glorious new Epson printer. Just wondered .. When printing you cards, what printer settings do you use? I.e. in the printer options > color Matching, do you use ColorSync or Epson Color Controls. When I use Color Sync it seems I have to use Colour progiles which I haven't a clue about. Also do you use air print or a direct usb connection? Thanks Shannon.

    • @shannonmullin
      @shannonmullin  Рік тому +3

      I use the ColorSync setting and then print via the wifi connection! I still can't get my head around colour profiles but for some reason when I use the ColorSync setting they're quite accurate, as long as I choose the closest paper type ☺️

      Thank shannon for your reply. I have the airprint mode and the wired mode. The airprint mode does not let me choose colour sync but the wired one does. AND what paper type setting do you sue for the Tinterreto gesso paper? I also notice that it prints slowly when I am trying to use a special paper. Any idea on that. thanks for being so helpful. Your work is outstanding. ❤ linda

      @@lenyhorizons6793 First you choose your paper size. For example 12 x 12 is a scrapbook paper size. Then scroll down to printer options and in Color Matching . Here you can try to Epson Color controls or Color Sync. Then to Printer Settings than choose Media type. I have used Bright white which is the closest paper that matches my greeting card stock. Hi Chris! I’m yet to try a thinner card stock but the Epson fine art paper I use is 300GSM (although feels a little thinner than the 300GSM tinteretto gesso I have) and that handles well!
      It just struggles sometimes with the 300GSM tinteretto gesso and does get little roller marks with the thicker papers and card stocks

    Hello Shannon. Thank you so much for sharing beautiful videos of your work, and offering us your experience of this great printer. Really appreciate it. We purchased this Epson, however we've found that it doesn't work well on card weight above 250gsm, which is probably worth mentioning if you decide to create an update of this printer. We've just spoken with Epson and had great support with establishing what the issue was for us, as we thought there was a fault with the printer. It leaves 2 roller marks on either side of card that is above 250gsm weight! Desperate for answers, we viewed a number of channels and found that there's a content creator who had the same issue, which she showed on her video published last year. It may interest you to view the episode titled 'Epson Et-8550 Print Review 3 Weeks Later - How To Print On 280gsm Card.' I hope this detail is helpful to others interested in purchasing this Epson. It may suit them very well on paper or card up to 250gsm. Thank you for taking the time to read this. And once again for your lovely content.

    • @shannonmullin
      @shannonmullin  3 місяці тому +1

      Thank you so much! Yes unfortunately I have the same issue too - it seems to do it on card less than 250GSM as well 😞 as much as I love the printer, I will probably upgrade one day to something else but for now - I put up with the cons that come with it. I hope you have found an option that works for you! Thank you so much ☺️

      @@shannonmullin Hello Shannon. Thank you fo replying. Oh I'm sorry you're having the same quirks. Maybe when more of us inform Epson, they'll either be clearer on the printer and give accurate info of what grade card is required for the best results. Or improve the printer to do as it advertises. What a shame, because it's pretty expensive for it not to deliver what it states. Mine is sitting in a corner just printing basic sheets of admin LOL. For now I'm still using a printing company for my cards, which is costly. But options to do it myself are minimal at the moment.
