    In terms of design i definitely prefer the S23 Ultra beacsue of the softer edges for grip. Also the flat screen on the S24Ultra is not all that beneficial because the Spen input plays up at the edges as if the screeen was curved.

  • @BiscuitNgravy13
    @BiscuitNgravy13 3 місяці тому +2

    The reason I did is because I think updates will make it even better, but also because if I want the S25U next year, because of the software update increase my S24U will maintain a better value where as if you held on to your S23U, next year the value will all but tank.

    • @BiscuitNgravy13

    Well, price hike due to inflation technically
    No, curved panels do look better and more ergonomic
    Also, like no reviewer talks much about the new panel they use. It is quite a bit better than previous. The average person may not notice it, but if you know, you know.
    The 5x is actually better for most people, it's a focual length used more regularly
    Compared to my S22 Ultra, the S24 Ultra is better in every aspect
    Camera quality is generally a preference versus actual what's better...
    Big leaps in hardware isn't a thing, and hasn't been for a couple years for any brand really
    If you're getting 2 days of battery life, you're a lite/mid user

    With that camera performance, the same "we'll fix it with updates" problems every year (shutter lag/motion blur, weird color grading/hdr, poor selfie and video quality, unpredictable results...), everyone should just avoid this phone. Besides S pen, competition is far better in every single aspect.

    The phone is 1500 dollars in the US. In other countries in is around 1700 dollars minimum. The issue is that you can buy one of the best performing laptops that will last you 10 years and which will be light years in capabilities compared to the phone (unless your job required you to always be up-to-date). And if their track record is anything to go by. As with all previous Galaxy phone, they all start to lag and show their age at the end of the 2 year mark. There are people that don't notice this because they don't care, but the fact remains and has been proven leaving no valid counter arguments. The manufacturer promises years and years of updates, but does that matter if they're horribly optimized without a thought invested. People have become way too comfortable with buying phones every two years for the price of what should last you around 10 years with no slowdowns and excellent performance. However Galaxy phones from just 4 years ago are incapable of doing basic things at a fluid level, their animations stutter 80% of the time. The argument still stands that there are far too many Android phones with far too many chips so there is no way developers can optimize for them. So they just focus on the latest chip and nothing else. But that is not an excuse. Stop giving these companies absurd amounts of money just so you can scroll Instagram and "think" that your phone's camera takes nice photos. For that money you could buy a top of the line laptop and an entry level Nikon with a kit lens and be blown away by just how incomparable even an entry camera is to the phone's camera. You cannot do any real work on the phone, and anyone who has truly tried will tell you that it is frustrating. Perhaps in theory possible but in practice useless. It is a media machine only.

    I'm really not feeling the design language. From a technological standpoint this phone is amazing. However, from a build quality standpoint it's a nightmare. In my opinion, it's the ugliest phone I've ever seen. The endless right angles adds a lot of bolt to the device and makes it difficult to hold. The curved glass from previous generations is far more ergonomic. Not to mention, curved glass looks far more premium than the flat screen slab Flintstone look. Truthfully, those pointy corners an unimaginative design makes it look like a glass casket. For $1,300-$1,600 you'd think they could design a device that didn't summon up images of a funeral home.
    Hypothetically, if I were interested in purchasing a modern Samsung device I would skip this and purchase the Samsung Galaxy s24 plus. It's still an unattractive slab but, at least it only costs $1,000. Furthermore, this year it was given some much-needed upgrades in the form of quad HD display, 12 g of RAM and a much larger battery. Unless you really need an s pen and a gimmicky titanium frame this is much more cost-effective. Obviously, that's just my opinion. Others are welcome to theirs.
