It's odd and wonderful - I'm not usually into Smart Dolls (though they are gorgeous!) but Bee is one of my favorite dolls-that-aren't-mine :D She just makes me happy in every video she's in! I think that's the appeal of her, she brings smiles. :)

No problem Hun! I know they're all so adorable, I really like Kanata but im not a fan of her faceup, it makes her look to angry, so if i got her i'd definitely change her makeup. Yeah there's a lot of anger about the lack of boy dolls, which Volks has been around for many years so you would think they would've had a bunch of boy dolls made already but guess we just have to wait! But my two dolly's that i have now are actually two of my dream dolls! I've known about BJD's for a few years but i figured i would never be able to afford one so i kind of just dreamed about them and i saw the Yair sculpt and just knew that he was the one. So many years later i got him for my 18th birthday present.

As for where to get one, well unless you are in Tokyo (to visit the Mirai Store), or manage to find one second hand, the only place to buy a Smart Doll is from the online store: shop.smartdoll.jp (their site is very easy to navigate, and their customer service is great). Culture Japan will have a stall at AnimeNYC next weekend too, so that could be an option for you as well! I know they're premiering their new doll body 'cortex' there, and will be taking preorders from people. I'm happy to try help with any other questions you may have so please just ask :)

Hiya! This confused me initially too tbh haha! Since they're called "Smart Dolls" I automatically assumed they must do something else. As far as I know though, for the most part they are just cool collectors things. Although, you can get a special torso that can hold a battery and has usb slots for charging your devices - dannychoo.com/en/posts/smart-doll-usb-hub (random, but cool haha). The creator of Smart Dolls did use a doll as a case for an android stick PC, so there's that too lol dannychoo.com/en/posts/miraicon Most people collect them to customise (from scratch/with clothes etc) and for photography. It really depends what you're into though. Hope this helped answer your question! :)
I own a smart doll. How I remove the head and shoulders is I pinch the neck and wiggle the head (same thing with arms). When I brush the wig I take it off the head most times and hold it in my hand and brush from the bottom up. Then I take the head off to decrease risk of breaking a part in the neck. (Extra careful about it because when my dad helped me get the wig on for the second time he was too rough with my poor Mirai that he ended up breaking a part in the neck. Going to get her fixed.)

Smart dolls come with a telescopic stand, so yes, the stand is already there 🙂 there are different types of stands you can buy separately as well though! But by default dolls come with one.

Best of luck in saving for your own doll 💕 As far as advice for their articulation goes, I would say to play with your doll by posing them etc as much as you can before you dress them ...sounds weird, but this way it'll make sure you are more familiar with the joining system before you can't see them. Look at the joints closely too! The way they move really makes sense once you see how they're put together. With clothing, pretty much all 1/3 scale clothing will fit! So that includes Dollfie dream and Bjd clothes too. If you search SD doll clothes on Etsy/eBay/etc, you'll be sure to find plenty 😊 As for care, a lot of it is common sense really. It's best to store them out of direct sunlight, and to avoid leaving them sitting around in dark clothes (it can transfer onto the vinyl, staining it). Hope this helps! 💕

I thought the same thing when I first heard of them! You can get USB hub torso, as well as a USB charger part from the Smart Doll store though. Also, I think Danny modded a Mirai to be a case for an Android Stick PC, so that's a thing :'D

Hi! I'm living in New Zealand, and I didn't have to worry about any taxes/bills when she came into the country. Shipping was actually free for me too, which was amazing! Although in saying so, I know these things aren't necessarily the case for other countries. It's different all over the world ^^; If you are unsure about anything, send Culture Japan an email - I know for a fact that they will work with people with how they declare their shipments, so if your country determines tax depending on the value of the item coming in, then they can perhaps help you with that. At a guess I'd say you miiiight have to pay ~20% for tax? I'm /really/ not sure though, so yeah... take what I say with a grain of salt! xD Also thank you! I'm glad you like Bee

Smart dolls come with a telescopic stand, so yes, the stand is already there 🙂 there are different types of stands you can buy separately as well though! But by default dolls come with one.

As far as advice for their articulation goes, I would say to play with your doll by posing them etc as much as you can before you dress them ...sounds weird, but this way it'll make sure you are more familiar with the joining system before you can't see them. Look at the joints closely too! The way they move really makes sense once you see how they're put together.
With clothing, pretty much all 1/3 scale clothing will fit! So that includes Dollfie dream and Bjd clothes too. If you search SD doll clothes on Etsy/eBay/etc, you'll be sure to find plenty 😊
As for care, a lot of it is common sense really. It's best to store them out of direct sunlight, and to avoid leaving them sitting around in dark clothes (it can transfer onto the vinyl, staining it).

Thank you! And no I didn't! I asked Culture Japan if they could under-declare her on the customs form, and they happily obliged. Even if I hadn't asked them though, I probably would have been okay - a friend of mine didn't, and they didn't have to pay any customs fees either. Still, I felt better doing it this way, since I'd rather be safe then sorry :P

I thought the same thing when I first heard of them! You can get USB hub torso, as well as a USB charger part from the Smart Doll store though. Also, I think Danny modded a Mirai to be a case for an Android Stick PC, so that's a thing :'D

Hi! I'm living in New Zealand, and I didn't have to worry about any taxes/bills when she came into the country. Shipping was actually free for me too, which was amazing! Although in saying so, I know these things aren't necessarily the case for other countries. It's different all over the world ^^; If you are unsure about anything, send Culture Japan an email - I know for a fact that they will work with people with how they declare their shipments, so if your country determines tax depending on the value of the item coming in, then they can perhaps help you with that. At a guess I'd say you miiiight have to pay ~20% for tax? I'm /really/ not sure though, so yeah... take what I say with a grain of salt! xD Also thank you! I'm glad you like Bee
