Astro Event #4: The Great Conjunction (18.12.2020) - Live View & Planetary Chit-Chat

Hey folks,
the live-stream did not work for me - why ever - so here is my session about the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn!
Gear:
- Skywatcher Newtonian Telescope 750 PSD Explorer
- ZWO ASI120MC-S Colour Planetary Camera (at) primefocus
- Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro Mount

I notice that you camera picture is upside down compared to the "naked eye view". I always rotate the camera in my telescope to match the picture on screen with the natural view. It makes navigation much easier.

Thanks for the comment Space Man! Upside down is a question of perspective :-)
But first and foremost my first concern was to FIND both planets within my small FOV - once I got them inside I wouldn't touch the camera anymore. Greetings and clear skies!

When I tried livestreaming a week or so ago, I noticed youtube changed my stream key from what is has been past years, so my existing key in OBS was no longer correct. After copy pasting the new one it worked again. Maybe you have a similar issue?

Thanks for the tip! I think it's all about my internet connection though. Connectivity outside big cities is a real concern in Germany.... StarLink? ;-)

Can you focus a camera in daytime? How far of a object is required?

You can. I can see the trees on the plot next to my neighbors one. This may highly depend on your optics and the focal length of your system.

Great conjunction is the unique possibility to see two giant gas planets in one field of view. Won't happen for the next hundred years, or so. Clear skies!
