Yea I was really excited to enter! When I got past step 1 I thought there would at least be a self-taught option or learning from an individual option. Sad I can't enter now.
@@47ravenlord not every student has a setup. I am learning this at school but don't have anything at home, making it really difficult to finish my assignments
@@jasmijnvanhoof4494 If i was going to school to learn a trade and it required me doing some of the work at home....i would buy a basic setup of even used tools or i would wonder why i was going to school for it at all, lol.
I just mentioned I am a professional, because that's what I am. I mean I am a professional artist that try to make jewelry. And yes I sell, to friends and family u don't have a "American" like business but I have one....
Hey everyone, some clarification! I did make this video with TRUE beginners in mind. Stuller has clarified with me that in order to create an account with them, they require affiliation with the jewelry industry in some way. For example you can have your own business, be a jewelry student, or an employee at a jewelry store, etc. I'm sorry that the language in my video does not reflect this. My error indeed.

I tried to apply I’m a welder by trade but took metallurgy in college pretty bummed out they don’t recognize people (individually)with a real passion for tedious/skilled labor. Did people need to be pursuing a piece of paper 500 so years ago to be considered master jewelers?

WOW! What a generous giveaway! I started taking metalsmithing classes before the pandemic and have stopped because the travel time is too long. I've been itching to go back to the studio to create and experiment. All the tools I own fit in one small bag. Dreaming of a set up like this in my own home 😩

If you are a bench jeweler you can definitely create your own account. They might just be listed as a reference.

Starting a 3y course in January. Having tools like this to start with in my shed would make practicing so much easier. I hope they will accept my account:) It’s a bit hard to enter the giveaway but still thanks a lot for arranging everything and making a video about the startertools.

I gave my ID number that's on my passport. We call that ID number...
Sad that there is a give away for beginners but in order to be part of it you have to be in the business… I could imagine that almost all how are already in have such kind of starting equipment…

I went to do a bench test a week ago and butchered it because the guy bench/shop was so unorganized. I could not find one simple tool to do one job. Everything was thrown on top of the bench and thrown inside the bench drawer which I had to hold the drawer up from falling apart while looking for a tool. Everytime I asked him where I could find a tool it seem to irritate him. That experience made me look so inexperienced on the bench. Just being a little organize can help a lot. I couldn't even find boric acid and alcohol to protect stones from heat. SMH

The social security administration advises NOT to give out your social security number. I can't imagine why Stuller needs this information but they won't create an account without it. No amount of free equipment is worth opening yourself up to identity fraud.

This is a giveaway for a basic STARTER set of tools/equipment, but you need to be a Professional Jeweler or an actual student to even be able to enter the giveaway......Professionals and actual students have no need of what is offered. Try not to be so rude, there is no need for it....especially when YOU are the one that doesn't understand properly.
