There are a bunch of e bike riding videos online, but I gotta admit, Tom has the most amazing views of incredible homes I've ever seen. Your neck can fall off looking left and right over and over.
We vacation every spring on Marco Island and in recent years I take my bike. The City has done a great job with its network of trails and bike lanes. What a beautiful island!
And the trails will only get better, Dave. On the city's website you can see the trail development planned through 2023. I'm excited to see the addition they added that takes you out to the new school. Once they are done working on the road to Goodland, the trail will be installed all the way out there. -Tom
Thank you, Ursula. I can't wait until I find the house that wins the garage rating. I need to find a way to get into the really big garage neighborhoods!
Hi Tom, you went by the former home of the Herb Savage (designed the original Marco Beach hotel that JW Marriott pays homage to) on Caxambas Ct - it's the Polynesian style house on the south side.
June is one of the wettest months in Fla, later in the summer, you get morning sun and then the showers come in and go and come again. Being a weatherman in Fl is very boring and repetitious, until a hurricane comes.
I enjoyed this e-bike tour. I still can't wrap my head around that all over America there are places like this and it just makes me wonder what in the heck these people do for a living? I want one of those jobs (well not really). Truly a beautiful place to live.
Sorry my english not good, the nex utilizaré traductor.
I'd much rather live in South Carolina or North Carolina. North Carolina has beautiful, clean beaches. Last time I visited Florida was in the early 90's and when I left, I said I'd never be back, and I haven't been, nor do I ever plan to. Plus I dated a guy that was born and raised there, and he if his lips were moving, he was lying and I got rid of that dude. So, he left a bad impression on me. He lived up here in Tennessee for a little while, but I believe he moved back down there where he belongs with all the other "Florida Man" stories. LOL - I know that story is a little bit off topic but I thought I'd throw it in there anyway
Great question, Diana. I should make a video about that. For me, and I could say us, absolutely. The days go by so fast. I tell people I get made when it's time to go to bed and I can't wait to wake up in the morning! I can't remember ever feeling like that during my career. Maybe in the very early days but that would be it.
Excellent. Three garage minimum. You’ll get it after awhile. Two or three A/C units are actually less cost on electric bill and zoned is good feature. You’ll understand logic after a few years living there but you’re off to a good start. Soon the Yankee will leave you and you can be an honorary Southerner. The adventure will grow. Enjoy it cuz!
Love the fact that you have no cookie cutter homes over there, most are custom built to the owners' taste. Do you know if there are any gated neighborhoods over there? Not counting condos?
There's a few, Pedro. I know of Hideaway Beach and Key Marco so far. I'd love to be able to take a ride into those areas. We'll see what I can do as I meet more people here.
@@evolutionaryTom Just go up to the guard house and tell them you are Tomas De Marco, descendant of the De Marco family who settled the island back in the 1800's and your're in.

Absolutely beautiful homes a true paradise

Thanks so much for the houses tour. I love them. So many really nice homes. What a nice place to live.
and thanks for the nice comment, Marilyn.
This is crazy the man who you said hi to on Caxambas ct lives just down the road from me in Northern Indiana. Thanks for sharing the video
I used to drive by these homes and think the same thing..gorgeous and awe inspiring❣️TY for the bike tour. Brings back fond days on the island!
Another great video, Tom! Enjoyed looking at the homes & now I know there is a new “number of garages “ rating 😂. Your filming technique is excellent.

Loving your videos, Tom! Thanks for sharing your paradise.
Thanks, Jane. They're fun to make and this is a really beautiful area!

The same thought goes through my mind, but I don't want that job either!
Most likely people who are retired or make Marco their winter home, I know that during the summer, a lot of homes and condos are vacant.

Nice video! What was your camera setup for the first part of the video when it was filming you talking?
Thank you, Eric. It's just me holding a Nu Bear tripod/selfie stick with my GoPro on it. The GP9 has great stabilization. www.nu-bear.com/
What is it like to live in Marco Island all year round? Is there enough to do to keep busy if you are retired?

Does that honorary title come with a medal or something?
Yes. 🎉🏆🏆🥇🥇

Yeah, they're nice...but I bet they don't have RaceDeck tile garage floors!
Ha! I can't imagine what that would cost for a 6 car garage!!!
Do you play pickleball? I hear the sport is big there.
I do, Brett. I haven't gotten into it here but it's on my short list. -Tom
Good thing you're amphibious.......😉
