- A step by step breakdown of how to play Cath by Death Cab For Cutie on guitar. This video had to be split into 2 parts to fit within UA-cam's time constraints. So be sure to check out Part 2!
Would love some tab /notation for the chord shapes you use. Best version of Cath I’ve seen.
Awesome lesson for a very complex song. Thanks man!
Excellent lesson, thank you!
best how to i've seen for cath, great song!
Not really. Homie doesn't even go into details on how to play any of the chords smh..
Good job man. Thanks! :)
@zachisthname
the push happens on the "and" of "4" giving it a pushed feel
explained really well. good teacher. thanx
Bro wtf are you talking about. He played it great but the way he explained it was dog shit smh
Badass, dude!
i love it :D
Many thanks for this video. One of my favourite Death Cab songs!
BY any chance can you explain the interlude picking part? Some quick tabs maybe?
hey! nice work...which guitar do you prefer for a beginner(it must be easy to use)
Thanks broo... the song's not hard but I didn't really think of using a capo. :)
Your tone is absolutely killer, what's your setup?
very good tutorial. Can you please post the strum pattern?
Hey, just wondering what the fingering for the major triad is. I'm not a novice guitarist but I've never hear of one before and can't find the fingering for it.
I'm assuming you are talking about the reference at 4:19. It is a G position triad using the pinky ring and index. (Pretend your index is the capo or nut and you are only playing the first three notes of a G chord form) if you'd like to discuss more I'd love to help. available to talk via Skype or on the phone I give lessons professionally from beginners to professional working musicians. Let me know.
Actually, I think the major triad referred to is the C you formed by fret 8 on the low E, fret 7 on the A and fret 5 on the D, which will create a C chord
ur not a novice. ..but uv never heard of a triad
Can you explain what you mean by "push it" ??
he means to hit that note/chord louder than the other chords. Accent it or bring attention to it
@macs1515
its a custom fat strat i built
sorry if it sounds ignorant, but what guitar is that?
yeh wtf is push it. and you dont show how to form most of the chords properly
A "push" is to move a song forward. In this case an unexpected change on the "and" of 4.
I know bro. Shit annoyed me tbh
