What a great tenant Carol is! She has done an amazing job decorating/painting this house. I'm sure the landlord was sad to see you leave and how lucky for the new tenant. Thank you for these videos. Can't wait to take the tour!
I like this lady. She's cool and has a good outlook on life and a nice colour sensibility for her decorations to keep things lively. I get the impression that she has a lot of fun where she is and loves living the carefree lifestyle that she has chosen. I wish her the very best. Welcome to Panama! When I saw all those wine bottles I was like *WHOAH!* but then she said she had gotten them from her friends to do arts & crafts. Then I was like *Phew!* lol But you can see how you can actually survive and not feel deprived if your fixed income is $1,200/month there.
Very nice of Carol to give us this tour....she seems very happy living in Panama and adjusted well. I have a five year plan for moving there when I retire so these types of videos are very helpful. Thank you!
So nice to hear that I'm not the only one who has a few years to go before moving, i thought i was the only one. i feel better now. I wonder how many other people are that far out still.
Daisy D, I guess we'll see each other in Panamá. I'm planning a vacation to Pedasí to see everything with my own eyes. I have the same plans you have, 👍.
Thank you Carol for sharing your home with us. I love the beach. The price is definitely affordable for a retiree. I'm very glad you have such nice neighbors to help when needed.
I'm watching this for a second time. By far it is one of my favorite videos of folks living in Panama. I've been talking about moving there for years! My wife may go for it if we were to be in a place such as yours!! Take Care.
Thank you for your gracious tour! You are clearly content. I was stationed in Panamá in the early eighties. I've been dreaming of spending my final days down there. You just made it harder for me to stay in the states...
I would gladly cut the grass if I had a lovely place like this. Sounds like my kind of community. The "small" city I live in has gotten bigger. The sense of community is going as fast as the city grows. I need the small time back. Thanks for sharing ....
What a beautiful little house, 👍. Little by little I'm getting more and more motivated to visit Pedasí, Panamá to see if I decide to move there. Everything looks soooo beautiful and welcoming. I definitely need to go there on vacation, 👍💕. Love your video and the clear explanations of everything. Thank you.
This is such a great idea to tell us about the area's of Panama and show what some expat's live in. Seeing it can give us a better idea of what we might want to look for in the places that we rent. So excited for this I was here and HOUR early...LOL!!
This is fabulous! If I had a vote, I’d say don’t get a dryer. It defeats the purpose of moving abroad if you have everything “like it is back in the US.” The washer with the lines to dry your clothes also save on electricity and are better for the environment. Thanks for sharing!
You have a great place and so beautiful. You are a lovely woman and many yrs of blessings for you.i was blessed to visit my best friend how lives in Panama city. We decided to drive around the pacific ocean side of Panama it was a great blessing. I love what I saw of the country and love too get there again ❤
Thank you Carol and Jackie! I love this place ❤ Does the landlord have another one that's available to rent? I would come down next week to sign a lease and pay 🤗
There is a rental just down the street coming available April 1st. furnished 2 bedroom 2 bath, across the street from the ocean. all utilities included! for $650
The sound comes in very silent on my notebook, even with headphones... I live in Latinamerica which means hay ruido alrededor. Extremely nice video. 70-75 degrees (9:54) is like miles to the galone. I had no idea Panamenians think in Fahrenheit. Thanks, was fun!
We don’t think in F but C. We use the metric system for almost everything but weigh in pounds (not sure why). But take this with a grain of salt since I moved out of Panama in 99, so I don’t know if things have changed.
Very nice tour and, of course, Panama has it's culture. As in Mexico, you certainly do not need hot water, but it's avail. if you want it - there's no need for hot showers when it's 80 F in the daytime, so shower when it's nice out, of course. After exercise or a walk, cool showers refresh you!!
hello carol how long of a walk is it to santa clara in 1981 i went there several times fond memories we would hang out near isla farrion i hope to go back soon
Hi Carol great video. Our beach looks great. You house is a super beach house.. Carol is my neighbor and friend. Come join us in Rompio!! Come join us in Panama..
That overhead picture of the shoreline at the 1:13 minute mark is gorgeous. That beach doesn't have all that dark seaweed-look stuff & driftwood pieces spread out along the shore like some of the beaches in the other video's.
My wife who is Panamanian, absolutely fell in love with your house. She would love to connect with you to find out more about that location next to the beach. Is there an email address she can write to where she can send a message to Carol? Thanks again for sharing such a beautiful paradise!
Cambutal is amazing... if you like very remote areas. There are some rentals there. But none that I'm away of. I'm sure our private tour guide for the Azuero could help you with a rental there. panamarelocationtours.com/private-tours
Cambutal is one of the best places I've seen in my own country. Coming from the city, I couldn't believe a place like that existed in Panamá. But is certainly a really small coast line and the land is mostly not sold in pieces, so there are not too many houses around. There are big chunks of land sold by millions
Very nice video, thanks for posting! My question is, what is your situation there relative to shopping? How close are you to supermarkets, even local markets, where you need to go to buy your normal, everyday supplies? And do you have a car to get around in, or do you rely on buses? If so, how close are you to bus stops? Thank you for your reply!
The closer you are to Panama City, the more expensive things are. There could be some affordable rentals in San Carlos which is about 1 1/2 or 2 hours from Panama City
Looks like a wonderful neighborhood and quiet. Would love to know what the surrounding area is like? How far away is the grocery store, restaurants, gyms, local bank or ATM etc.? Any language challenges for someone that only speaks a little Spanish in that part of town?

Hi Carol, great video and really appreciate the detailed information. I'm curious, when you're sitting outside where there aren't any screens/mosquito netting, are the mosquitoes bearable or awful or somewhere in between? I'm also wondering how clear the water is. Without it looking blue like many of the other pictures/videos I've seen in Panama, I wonder if much can be seen while snorkeling or if that's a hobby best not done there. How close/far are you from town, food, stores with necessary items, movie theater, other entertainment? How far from a bus station? Do they run there? Taxis? I love your home and how you've decorated it. I hope you go for the dryer, and kudos on the hot water in your bathroom. :) What is the high temperature there? The low looks fantastic, just wondering how warm it gets each day during the different seasons (rainy versus dry). I sure hope it's God's will for me and my sister to move to Panama (two years would be nice), and now you've added your area to the list. Take care and God bless!! I'm very happy for you and your little doggy. :)
Thanks Carol for introducing us to your beautiful casa. You mentioned a couple of times about Amazon, is it working pretty well in panama? Delivery etc..
So interesting. I am wanting to move to Panama, need to sell my house first and just get it together. Will probably do some of the short tours with Jackie at some point before I finalize everything. I would love something just like what you have. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Carol nice video! I spent time in the city but don't know much about the other locations, looking forward for some more videos. More info on shopping, Security, what is the name of that location?
6 day 7 night is too short to make a decision. i prefer to stay 2-3 months there to check if i lke to live there or not. also interesting to see what you get for the price. i suppose i will live first in panama city or near there
That's why we recommend that people come on the 6-day Panama Relocation Tour to see a good overview of Panama, then go back to the place they like the most to spend a month or so.
she had hot water put in her bathroom so now she has hot water. In that area, the water is warm when it comes out of the faucet even if you don't have a hot water tank
I have visited this home. This tenant wasn't living there. Nice home. There is one owner that owns 3 homes on this property. All are rentals and all are nice. I have lived in Las Santos province for a long time. Nice place to live.
I would say that it is. In Panama one can consider oneself to be middle class and not have hot water. Then if you really want it the next step is to get it just for your shower like she did. And then the next step is to put it into all of your house. But it certainly does not become a cost driver for your entry point in being able to have a nice place to live, and you can do all of that at your own pace. It also keeps electric bills pretty darn low. Like hers was $16/month, for example.

Do you refer the names of trusted home owners to those of us wanting to rent out a place for a few weeks to see if we like it?
No. To rent for a few weeks we recommend Airbnb.
I need to take a visit to Panama .
Thanks for great insight ☺️
You'll be amazed! Come see how you can live better for less in Panama.
Is rapid internet available? How? At what cost?
500Mbps is about $40 a month. You can get faster for more $
Love your choice of colours that reflect your obvious free spirit and imagination. Greetings from PEI Canada . Happy 2021 !
Thank you! Cheers!
Has rent gone up in the 2 years that this was filmed?
no! Rent is exactly the same price now.

Thanks for a great tour - was wondering why Carol didn't get a whole house hot water heater (instead of just her shower?)
It was cheaper to just get a water heater for the shower. She did not have to redo plumbing for the whole house.

Is that common to not have hot water? I could/would never live someplace with no hot water.
in the lower price points at the beach communities
I would say that it is. In Panama one can consider oneself to be middle class and not have hot water. Then if you really want it the next step is to get it just for your shower like she did. And then the next step is to put it into all of your house. But it certainly does not become a cost driver for your entry point in being able to have a nice place to live, and you can do all of that at your own pace. In many warm countries it's common to not have hot water. In Puerto Rico this is common.
