    Almost choked on my latte when the total cost came up 😂 safe to say for my family of 5 disney florida will always be a dream. I'm like u in that I love disney even at my age of 34, watching cinderella or little mermaid etc always cheers me up because of the nostalgia. Anything disney I want to buy it. I have the disney songs album and pretend it's for my kids but listen to it in the car and sing my heart out when alone xx

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  Рік тому +1

      Yes, that was just our total - we went overboard on a few things that others may not need/want haha. Awww it sounds like you would LOVE Disneyworld if you're a big fan!! You can make it happen if you want it hard enough. There are SO many cheaper ways to do it.

    Loved this. I could listen to you(or any one to be fair) talk about Disney all day long.
    My sister,brother and parents just don’t get it. Been very lucky to go 3 times with my husband times now. Once on my honeymoon, once with our 3 boys & the last time just us & out daughter. Desperate to go again. I feel the Disney “come down” though is almost a physical pain. I cry with joy when I see the castle & I cry with grief as we depart.
    And the Epcot fireworks get me every time.
    Which firework display did you all like the best?

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  11 місяців тому

      ha ha yes, there's definitely a big line between Disney-people, and non-Disney people haha I totally get it, Disney to me is the only place I truly 'switch off' and I'm just fully there - and that doesn't happen on any other holiday.
      I have to ashamedly admit - we never caught the main fireworks at Magic Kingdom haha, there was always a Christmas party on, or we arrived too late to get a 'spot' on the other days. We did however absolutely adore Harmonious at Epcot and I listen to the soundtrack a ridiculous amount. So sad that's it's gone and we wont be able to see it again! xx

  • @karennetherland2327
    @karennetherland2327 Рік тому

    Tracey, you look absolutely fantastic. I've been to Disney a few times with my sister who lives in Florida. I still can't see what the hype is about. I felt it's over crowded, over priced and over done. But there are those who can see what I can't. I am so happy you enjoyed yourself so much. You did an amazing job summarizing the cost and what you liked and didn't like. So this question is for the kids. What did you learn from being in America? ❤

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  Рік тому

      Yes, there are many that don't understand why others do it/love it so much. You have to be an absolutle Disney-nut to see it haha. Thank you for your extra question :D x

    • @charlenew2462
      @charlenew2462 Рік тому

      I'm a bit like you. Never actually been, or been a fan but watched many vlogs on it. It's just another Theme Park to me. I just like the idea of going to Florida; but then what's a trip to Florida if you haven't visited at least once right?
      I did do Universal when I was 18 but now I would like to go to Disney with my boys so I would be experiencing through their eyes and as an adult.

    The big difference between the value and moderate resorts are the pools all have slides and more themeing. On the down side most of them have internal buses or share buses with other resorts

      We aren't massive swimmers/fans of water so waterparks werent on our radar, but they do usually always have one of the waterparks open at Disney.
      In terms of weather - I documented the temperature every single day during our Disney vlog series! Here is the Day 1&2, and you should be able to find the rest from there :D

    We took our 24 yr old son to Disney when he was 5. It was beginning of June and very hot. Isn't it funny that Animal Kingdom was our least favourite park, but we loved Universal plus Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. We also splurged on Discovery Cove, thinking like you, it was probably a once in a lifetime experience. I booked everything myself, spending weeks looking for the best deals and available accommodation. We considered a Disney resort, but in the end we thought it'd just be a place to sleep as we'd be out all day/eve. We stayed at The Wyndham on International Drive, good location although we had to take 2 trams to the Disney Parks. Perfect large room with 2 queen sized beds and a side room/area with bunkbeds for the kids. My sister came too, cosy haha! I'm sure the hotel was about £1k, flights with Virgin also £1k and the park tickets about £500 in total. Extremely good value in comparison to wages at the time. Woudn't you consider a villa or standard hotel for your second visit?Always felt guilty we've never taken our 18 yr old but I don't know if it'd be a disappointment now he's a lot older, plus he's been to Blackpool, Alton Towers etc a fair bit and had speedy passes with relatively short wait times. I'm also doubtful if I could walk around the parks all day like I did nearly 20 yrs ago, my feet would be agony, especially in the heat. It's a lot of money to risk being disappointed.

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  Рік тому +1

      hahah yes an absolute bargain compared to prices now. How fab!
      No, I'm a a standard hotel EVERYWHERE....except for Disney haha. I just love being immersed in the whole thing, super easy transport, early magic time etc, I just love it! haha
      If you want to avoid the extreme heat - do Jan, Feb, March, or Nov, Dec, and you dont have to walk around all day! theres plenty of slow rides/free transport to save those feet!

    How did you manage the transfer between hotels as is it like the UK and your kicked out your room at 11. Then carnt check in till 3pm. What did you do with your bags ?

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  11 місяців тому

      Yes, you have a check out and check in in time but all hotels have 'bell services' which means you can leave all your luggage with them, and they give you a ticket number to go back to collect them whenever you like :D x

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  6 місяців тому

      Thank you! Yes 4 days is enough to do the current 2 universal theme parks, but a big new one is opening summer of 2025 so you’ll need to add a few more days in for that. No we aren’t a water park type of family, but I know people who usually do that for a morning or afternoon so it will be easy enough to squeeze in 👍

    We have been a couple of times and you can't beat. Villa. You can cook and save moneybif you need to. Also you can jump in your own pool and you don't have kids running up and down the corridor. Yess you hav to travel to th parks and you don't get earlier entry but we like driving to the parks as that builds the anticipation

    How much in spending money did you take were a family of 5 we had the dinning plan last time but its so expensive now so were taking $4000 for food and spending money do you think that's enough for 14 days

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  7 місяців тому +1

      We allocated $2000 to food and had plenty - however we bought breakfast from Walmart (cereal and milk) so we only ever bought dinner, tea, snacks and drinks - and always from a quick service. No sit down meals.
      The good bit is that you can pull up the full menus and pricing on the Disneyworld app - so you can add up what an average meal for you all would cost and then multiply it by your 14 days. Then add on abit extra if you want a sit down meal at a restaurant etc. You'll find there are some days you eat far less than others so it all evens itself out in the end! :D x have the best time!!
