  • This is a video about the enchanting expedition to the cave city of Gondrani, an ancient marvel nestled within the heart of Balochistan, in close proximity to the bustling Bela city. This hidden gem, often referred to as the "Hidden Treasure of the World," is a treasure trove of history, mystery, and intrigue.
Gondrani has witnessed the ebb and flow of centuries, and its enigmatic aura is palpable from the moment you set foot in this historical wonderland. Known by a multitude of names, such as the Old House, City of Rogan, Town of My Gondrani, and House of Spirits, it beckons explorers with tales that have been woven into the very fabric of its existence.
The mystique of Gondrani deepens as you delve into the intriguing narratives that enshroud its caves. One hypothesis suggests that these caves were constructed during the 7th century, during the reign of a Buddhist kingdom.
They served not only as residences but also as places of worship, a testament to the rich tapestry of history that adorns these ancient walls.
Another captivating legend unveils a king who sought refuge in the caves atop the mountains, his daughter, Badi al-Jamal, in tow.
Six menacing demons threatened to snatch her away, prompting the king to extend a call for help to seven courageous individuals. Only Prince Saif ul Maluk succeeded in rescuing the princess, banishing the demons, and paving the way for enduring happiness.
However, the most celebrated tale revolves around Mai Gondrani, a virtuous woman who sacrificed her life to protect her community. She vanquished demons that terrorized their livelihoods and left behind not only a legacy but also her resting place, marked today by a solemn shrine.
As you explore the caves, you'll be awe-struck by the small chambers, each with niches for lamps, as well as verandas and kitchen facilities, evoking a vivid sense of life from bygone eras.
These caves, spread across the mountains, offer a poignant glimpse into the societal structures of ancient times, reflecting the subtle nuances of class divisions. In the 19th century, an English officer from the Indian Navy marveled at the sheer number of caves, counting a staggering 1500.
Over the years, the ravages of time have taken their toll, leaving approximately 500 caves in their current state of disrepair. Tragically, these historical gems remain largely unexplored and underappreciated, despite their immense potential as tourist attractions.
Gondrani's mystic allure lies just 20 kilometers from Bela, inviting adventurers and history enthusiasts to unearth its secrets. This historical treasure chest, though in need of preservation and attention, holds the promise of a mesmerizing journey through time and a profound connection with the past.
Dive into the depths of Gondrani, and let its intricate stories and ancient chambers captivate your imagination.
