The Manta A in my opionion is actually one of the most beautiful cars of ANY kind and make during my life time. This becomes particularly evident when you look at some of the restomods made today. The basic shape is such a little pearl.

Thanks for a great summary of the Manta A. I have a Manta A Broadspeed Turbo replica with a 2 litre red top engine.
The first time I seen a Manta A I fell in love with it, it's shape, it's rear lights, it's rear end, it's contours, indeed everything about them. I subsequently spent several years searching for one and I eventually found a beautiful turbo replica.

I've had 4 A Series all in black.
My last one was a C20LET engined one that I built as a Broadspeed tribute. It had 360bhp and would hit 115 in 3rd gear.
If you Google Suffolk County Mantas mine is featured on their website.

This was my first car in 1975, I bought a 1971 Opel Manta Rallye GT (1900), it was 'Rallye Red' with flat black hood and stripes. It had a manual shift and just over 100k on the odometer. I really loved this car. I miss it to this day. My current car; is a 2009 Dodge Challenger, 5.7 R/T Classic, in silver with the ' Throwback Stripes, and every option available at that time. It was the dealer ordered showpiece for the first year you could order one. It had 38 miles on it, when I bought it, and it had already been in a car show, for two days.

Nice video! I bought my 1973 Manta Rallye brand new at the local Buick dealer here in California right after I turned 17. Next to the GT, it was one of the most definitive Opels here in the states at the time and mine really stood out in Chrome Yellow paint with that matte black hood, black body striping and a black interior. I did a few modifications for better engine breathing and exhaust and for handling but the basic car was totally reliable and economical to own and I wished I could find another today but they are now very scarce.

I had quite a few of these cars in my heyday! , the best for me was a Monza blue with black vinyl roof 74 A series 1900 Sr berlinetta Auto UVB850M,a later 79 2000 Sr coupe in burnt orange with black interior JBJ601V , and a 86 gte coupe in gold D593NMB. The 79 Sr had a high lift cam with bigger valves, which could out accelerate zetec Ford ! Carb version was better than the fuel injection I think.

Nice had the orange SR as well with the black interior and extra gauges 1973 so was just out of tax free at the time as it was only up to 1972 back then. That old friend rust got to it.
