Which I put on the Coaches, from the moment I saw the formation(4141) I knew it was gonna be interesting(stupid is more like it), this is a simple game!! Stop the other team from scoring and score yourself!! Not one shot was taken on the Brazilian goal in the 30 minutes I watched, none!! Our keeper made at least 6 saves in that time!! The players were far too muddled together, almost overcrowding the ball, there was no flow, control was lacking and strategy was nonexistent!! Sure they basically defended well but you can’t defend 0 and expect to win!! The basic action of the game(kicking) was poor, striking the ball is paramount to play; if nothing else it holds the key to everything!! The goalkeeping and keeper is a bright spot!! I wonder if these players could play 424, the basic formation that nobody plays today, choosing to crowd the midfield with players who lack the ability to pass effectively, command strategies and dictate play!! A player should possess the requisite skills for their position or have the natural instinct, I contend that besides the keeper this might not be the case for others!! A team is a dynamic thing, the moving parts must mesh well, playing to their strengths and supporting weaknesses!! Basics basics basics, that’s the key…the weakness in team is ego!! Deal with these two things first…!!

You do not know football. So not playing defense should not be played? One of the goal is to defend and not let the other team score.
