My rifle was chambered 7.62 it blew up on the fourth round of Remington 180gr 308 ,those actions were not rated for the pressures of 308 and 7.62 nato .the rifle is great in the original caliber 7x57mm,stay safe
@@thomasschulze6119 But the system was chambered also in 7.92x57 and should hold .308 (even than .308 its hotter than 7.62 NATO and a much hotter than 7.62 CETME it was originally chambered for).
@@peteraffm 7x57 or 7,92x57? there where two versions of rifle chambers for the spanish military if I am not mistaken... beside that, again, just shoot what's on the barrel if you want to be at the safe side, speciallly with a 100 years old converted rifle... just hope, that nothing happend to @davidhass6893
I had the same issue with mine. Shooting high and to the right. I replaced the front sight guard with the Chilean version which allows more light on the front sight. As soon as I did that the my shooting improved. I simply could not actually see the front sight well. For a gun that is 100+ years old min shoots respectfully well.
The pressure sustained by this rifle exceed those of the 7.62x51 308. SAMCO did a study and explained it, that it was safe to shoot in 308. The article was published in the Guns and Ammo Magazine. Stop the rumors.

Thank u for that. I have since traded the rifle.
It blew up ! ? Lets hear more ! Did it injure you ? Sounds very bad. People always talk about this for years but nobody reports problems with 308
the same old discussion, only shoot with what's chambered for..., .308 and 7.62 NATO is not exactly the same
but I hope you got not injured...

I had one a few years ago. A nice little carbine but highly inaccurate.
