It was interesting watching your video and hearing your comments about having trouble getting the fish finder holder to snap into place on the mount because the "slider bolt" was too long. I also saw that you said the fish finder mounting plate would not fully tighten. I had the SAME 2 issues and after giving it some thought, I ended up cutting quite a bit off the length of the slider bolt (it doesn't need to be that long) and that solved the problem with the holder snaping into the mount. For the other issue of the mounting plate not fully tightening, I found the perfect size washer to put "under" the plate before pushing the rod through and then I was able to tighten the top bolt down and secure it tight. I also had a problem with the arm not tightening fully where it swivels at the point the 2 plastic pieces with "teeth" join together. Again, another perfect size washer fixed that problem, so now I can fully tighten the swivel as well. Another thing I found that was GOOD, is the fact that the slider bolt that fits into the provided track will also fit into other similar narrower track mounts that screw on with less mounting screws in the "center" of the track (which I used). This is the first time I bought any Scotty products and it appears they are not that expensive and made well, but I had to make too many "adjustments" before things would work to give them a 5 star review.
Perfect. My gear track sits on an inside ledge and I was afraid that the arm would not have the height to go over the sides properly. The fact that you can add two rubber washers and still be able to tighten it down would help me because it would add height to the arm.
I SSMDad thanks a bunch I'm glad I could help you ... I would def look into it .. you may even be able to buy the other mount type and screw it into your transom or install a gear track rail
Hello, I'm currently installing the Garmin Striker 4 on my kayak using the Scotty transducer mounting arm, and I was wondering if you could please share how you connected the transducer to the transducer arm, as they clearly do not fit, did you use washers or something to fill the gaps? Your help would be greatly appreciated!
How well does the striker downvu work for you? I fish by Suwannee River in Florida and I can't see a dang thing because of the murky water. I was planning on buying the newer model striker4 with 'cleavu" so I can see bottom features really well.
Sparkfly88 so far it has been really awesome! I'm kind of blown away by their lower end products . You get a lot of bang for your buck . I learned how to use it in short time and my buddies even liked it and they went out and bought one for their offshore boats ... they went a few models up from mine but they're happy as well ... I don't have any complaints so far . Let me know how you make out if you go with the clearvu model , I would like to hear your feedback . I would definitely buy it .... I found all kinds of bottom structure and everything with this and my catch ratio has def improved
thomas glandon no it doesn’t interfere at all surprisingly. With the yak attack gear trac you can slide it up and down to adjust . I didn’t have many options or spots to mount it cause bass pro mounts the rod holder on the other side . It works out well there

Thanks man, I know you made this vid years ago but it helped me today.
awesome glad I could be of help! and thanks for watching !
Even on Scotty's own designed rails they need the washers to fit in the fish finder mount... Seems like a design overlook
Agreed ! But I think it’s more universal for all brands.
Dude.. watching u put this thing together gave me anxiety lol
Ty
Thanks for the info it solved my problem with the transducer on my striker.
Christopher Cooper glad I could help ! I will Pay it forward . Someone helped me also with this and it worked out really well so far
Great video Kenni. I'm thinking about getting one of these for my little jon boat and I appreciate seeing how it's setup.

Thanks for the thorough video. Super helpful. Yeah, those wires are a bear... I think I’ll cut mine.
What size screws did you use to mount the fish finder on the scotty universal mount.
Thank you so much
Do you remember exactly what hardware you used to attach the finder base to the Scotty mount?
I have Garmin 4 plus my transducer on Scotty kayak mount loose do you know any part make it tight or should I get a rubber to put make it tight?
What size washer did you get
Is the transducer arm long enough to reach from a center mount?
sddodger not sure I know what you are referring to....center mount where?
Kenni-411 i bought a kayak that has scotty mounts on center for poles. I’m thinking I’ll have to add a side mount
No in line fuse needed when you connect to a battery pack versus an actually 12v battery??
Leo Saechao I believe the fish finder has one already built in on the harness
Was the problem with the Scott universal mount that it wouldn't stop spinning? I'm currently having the same issue
VanDiemen Fishing I didn’t have that issue , What part do you have that is spinning?
does this mount fit any transducer?

kenni411 awesome! When I do buy it I plan on making a video. Not much out there about the CV model. Just the base model because it's less $$
will that mount get in the way of your paddle ?
