By far THE best demonstration on this guitar it definitely made me feel better about buying it thank you
The Best performance from ESP LTD 401, amazing guitar, and incredible play guitar, congratulations!!
FYI- this guitar is available in a left handed version if you search hard enough. The lefty version is not shown in the catalog at ESP, but it's out there. I snagged one and love it!
Have the same guitar. Very light, the neck is perfect. Everything about this guitar is perfect!
finally, a good review and well produced video with info on scales, well done sir.
Got this guitar a few days ago, it's really great. Hope to be able to play it like that in a few years, only playing for a month or 6 now without a teacher. Finally lessons are starting next week!
Sweet Video Pat, loving the change in vibe with the different modes, the EC401 sounds so badass!
Awesome! I appreciate the annotations along the bottom! I learned about a guitar I'm thinking of purchasing whilst also receiving a guitar lesson. Thanks!!! More like this please!
I just bought this... So happy I did!
ESP player for 6 years now!

Simply awesome
EC-401 huh. Why does the 12th fret inlay say EC-1000 at 0:39?
Love it Pat. Long time no see. Hope you're good.
That was great thanks
Awesome playing 🥳
Please upload more videos or tutorials ❤❤
I'm looking at this guitar with the duncans, not a metal head but friggin love this vid and technic
Obviously better than any Epiphone!
That Ionian solo is BADASS
We just got one for 499 man. I have literally worn my bc rich warlock out 1980s kerry king model but man it was a trooper for decades.
Thinking about picking this up as a starter guitar. Hoping it will be worth it
👍🏻👍👍🏼👍🏻👍👍🏼👍🏻👍👍🏼👍🏻👍👍🏼
*SOLD!*
somehow though I don't think it'll sound quite like that in MY hands ;(
practice your ass off.
You won't be needing it anyway
DAMN............... I mean............ DAMN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it hard to play the highest frets with single cut model? I am planning to buy an ESP EC with floyd to replace my shitty Ibanez xd
ESP makes the BEST guitars. had an LTD Viper 400 for 10 years with EMG 81/85 combo. sadly it was stolen. i am now looking at the Eclipse ec 401 with EMG. METAL
Would this guitar be good for shredding and soloing? And in comparison to the ltd kh 502, which would you guys pick? Thanks
Does it have locking machine heads?
Wow you play very good guitar
That is going to be my next guitar! Yeah!
Francisco Vivas Lucky... sadly couldn’t buy it because wasn’t no longer in stock, by the way ended up buying a Jackson SL3 Japan 2007, Real Floyd and Seymour Duncans, it’s great by the way but I wish I had the EC-401 someday...
Aww, I always wanted this guitar... but sadly no longer in stock... I can’t believe it.. :(
SDMF its on amazon!
John Lloyd Yeah, but I ended buying a used Jackson SL3 Made in Japan, 2007, Real Floyd Rose and hot Seymour Duncan pickups, I can’t buy any guitar... so sad, I really want this ESP LTD!
Hey Pat,
does the LTD EC 401 VF TMZ Tobacco Sunburst sound the same and I can get the Metallica sound out? It has the dimarzio PU‘s
I fucking love my white esp ec401!
I hate white Les Paul style guitars
Hey Pat, would you recommend this model for a B tune setup? i know the scale lenght is 24,75...not a baritone...but well... with the right string gauge n setup...you think it worth it ? or should i just pick an 7 string? Cheers !
Arthur Ferreira Many extreme metal bands use Gibson scale length guitars for low tunings but in my personal opinion an extended range (or at least 648mm) would sound better and a baritone would sound best.
I use it in drop B and it's an absolute beast.
Why is it so hard to find info on how to use the knobs? I've searched the internet and I can't find anything. I just experiment on my own and I don't even know what pickup I'm using. There are no manuals for this or a simple explanation? I just find myself having the switch pulled down and all the knobs always cranked up max, don't know what the difference makes.
The switch selects pickups, and the first knob is volume, second is volume 2, third is tone
what gauge strings are you using? 12s?
This guy fkn rocks! Haha
I've got one , it was well worth the investment . a very tidy guitar.
Could you Drop tune this guitar to A? Or would you recommend the Baritone ESP EC401
Jessica Guthas You would definitely want a baritone if you want to go that low and maintain good tuning stability. I should think one with at least a 27 inch scale. Strat/super strats usually have a 25.5 inch scale, PRS is the odd duck with a 25 inch scale, and Les Paul style guitars(of which the EC401 is) are the shortest with a 24.75 inch scale. So out of all of these, Les Paul style guitars tend to handle extreme detuning the worst. That's not to say it cant be done, but youll have to use much heavier gauge strings and probably stiffen your truss rod. And even then it will never hold tuning as well as a 27 inch baritone will.
Phrygian style stuff just sounds insane, just partial to the Egyptian style sound
this guitar or Epiphone matt heafy les paul custom??
Ole Auby This
What's the difference between ESP Ltd ec - 401 and ec -1000 ??
tone pros bridge, locking tuners and sometimes crzay abalone on the fretboard (too much for me) and where its made.. actually i think there made in the same place now... but dont quote me on that
Galgamach The 1000 also has the same thickness or similar to a les paul with no cut outs
what is the price for it?
Guitar Tones anything can be $0 if youre brave enough
Looks like a Les Paul, but it doesn't have the correct neck angle of a Les Paul. It's more like a strat, where the neck is completely flat with the body. The action out of the factory is nice and low at 3/64th on both sides with a little buzz evenly down the neck from the jumbo frets. This definitely cought my attention at first, and makes for a different sound all together.
This guitar look very good, and this track is awesome !! .. I want the tabs, and i want it now !!! ^^
is the ec1000 worth it?
Avi Oberoi yes!
Is it very heavy?
+JOHNNYwxw its quite light, which is nice seen as though the gibson les pauls are noticeably heavier and thicker which some may prefer, but not for me haha
Why is the word 'major' marked like that? :D
Wow, two years after :D
I guess what I meant is: why is the word in quotes?
Well, it's not important, just a detail :D Anyway, have a good one!
Awesome guitar, but it's not too heavy ? I'm a lead guitarist in a metal band and i need a guitar for a tour, i love les paul but i'm really undecided. Sorry for my bad English.
Fat Phrygian Dom runs, Pat. Need to do me some practice
Ionian (The Major Scale) sounds so wonderfull, very well done! The rest is of course also great!
