Please Jay do not spin out. Your gift is immense. Humility could prove most slippery with this level of talent and I beg of you hold on to everything you've developed. Nurture it, cherish it and by all means continue to share it. The listeners are your beneficiaries and we need your kind more than ever. And by the way, thank you. I will be among your crowd periodically. ....One more thing, art like yours prevents me from spinning out. Thanks again!
I feel the same way. He tops my list of favorite male Singers to include Paul Rogers, Chris Cornell, & Richie Kotzen, all fantastic vocalists but even amoung these three Jay stands above IMHO.
Just discovered Rival Sons last week. I told my son (18yo guitar player) that hearing Rival Sons (and my son) play, gives me hope for your generation. Rock on brothers and sons!!!!
@@brianhendrix8330 Highly recommend you take your son to see them if they are anywhere near you for this new tour..some dates are already sold out and the shows are months away.
Amazing composition. Going to see Rival Sons in Manchester. I am hoping I can meet Jay and ask him about his song writing process, a truly unique talent.
It was actually a "band" but ya, I guess you could call it SOLO since without his writing and singing, there's not much left. Plus it's in his name. I once drove about 30 miles to see them in DC (2004? 2005?) but the show was cancelled because of a snowstorm. The band was there with the tour bus and equipment, but I guess the club was closing. We met the 'other guys' and they invited us on the bus but Jay never showed up. I never got to see a performance. Kept an eye out but they just faded away. And then one day I saw his name with Rival Sons
"You judge yourself by the way you think that others think you're supposed to, And why would you wanna go and do a think like that? Why would you want to? It would pass if you let yourself bleed, With the void every night and the sleep that you'll never see, In the morning you start yourself clean, You can look your best, but love is the last thing you need, And you're blind and you don't know yourself, you think you're gonna save me, And you're staring at the TV, and you don't know what to think, When the endless night is parchment and your restlessness the ink, Well your face hides so many people, You want faith, you want to be needed, You want sex and you don't care how you get treated, In regards to the health of your head, In concern for your heart and the things you expect of me, In the morning you'll start yourself clean, What kind of lifeboat do you expect me to be? And you're blind and you don't know yourself, you think you're gonna save me, And you're staring at the TV, and you don't know what to think, When the endless night is parchment and your restlessness the ink, So you put out the cigarette and go get yourself a drink, Well no don't throw it away, cause it's worth more than you think."
