Malen is good, but seems to be benchmaterial at BVB at the moment. We have offensive players of the same caliber that we have defensive or midfielders. We don't have a Kluivert, Robben, van Persie or Huntelaar anymore.
It does sound like the best option to me to go for counter attacks. Even if its not the Dutch way, Van Gaal played like that and they looked tough to beat. Now with the pace and quality of their strong wing players Dumfries and Frimpong they should cause any oppo headaches.

Could easily compensate for the lack of attack depth by just putting up a brick wall and then passing it to the wingers to run on the counter and bait set pieces.
