I've had a few people commenting to see if I can fix device. Well, if you're interested in having me try to fix your device, feel free to shoot me an email at fixmorewasteless@gmail.com. This isn't a paid service, just something I want to do to help those who need it. You'd be responsible for return shipping and any major parts like screens, so it's not a completely free service, but I'm not charging for the repair. Email me about your device and what the issue is and I'll let you know if I think I can help.

I would ultrasonic the board just cause of that connector and the USB C port, I would have replaced the inductor but not the port, I would just check all the pins and see if the amp meter works on both sides.

Thanks for the advice. Do you think an ultrasonic cleaner would have cleaned up the corrosion on the lcd ribbon cable enough to prevent having to replace it? I get it might vary case by case but just trying to see how much a cleaner would actually clean issues like this. Thanks.

@@FixMoreWasteLessI would have went closer on the microscope say .5x with a barlow lens and looked in between the connector, cleaned it up with que tips and brush like you did and if it looks good tthen Ultrasonic it yes, and the contacts where the ribbon sits on I would have tested it in continuity with my multi meter after ultrasonic to be sure no bridging has happened. Always test as much as you can before doing a final test and turning it on is how I see things. I also have messed up that connector so many times so I always use my microscope when putting the ribbon back in from now on.

Great video! I like how it is edited.
    You gained another sub.
(Maybe just add a low background music because it feels kinda empty or idk)

Thanks I appreciate it! Yea I agree it needs something a bit more in the background.

I'm actually the type of people that prefers no music on the background hahaha It makes more difficult, at least for me, to understand what the person says

Regarding the connector I'd use a toothbrush since it can reach those narrow places that a q-tip can't. I'm no fan of clickbait titles but that's up to each own XD
Also I'm both a fan of using Kapton tape but also of not using it because I'm too lazy xD Then I screw it up and remind myself to use it next time...
Even if that Switch has the screen broken, it could be always used while docked. And 10/10 to you to not wanting to sell to not feel bad for next owner!
Also wanting to say that video editing in general is going better :D See you on next repair!

That’s a great point about it being usable in docked mode that I didn’t even think about. Thanks for the comment!

4 months since the last upload I’ve seen, definitely some better techniques but still a bit sketch. Improvement though.

First put gloves on and give it a good cleaning. Then do whatever you need to do.
