I wish you nothing but the best guys! Big up to the wife especially. I'm from Zim, but I have lived in the UK most of my life and the majority of my friends are Jamaican, despite what many may think they are actually more accommodating of other cultures than say another African person and your wife shows that with how much she wants to be integrated into the Zim society. I guess that's also testament to how good the husband is for her to want to do that. I always said I'd end up with a Zim or Jamaican woman, Zimbabwe edged it out, but I would have been just as happy with a Jamaican woman!
Sis your voice is great for voiceover work!
Thank you! I’m actually sooo open to that! 😉
Sister Debbie you have trained your daughter well... blessing to you and your husband

Awesome! Hope you’re learning each others’ languages 😄😄😄

I’ve just subscribed to your channel and enjoying your content. Muroora is really lovely and I’m amazed at how she’s already managing to speak some Shona. 🇿🇼🇬🇧
She’s learning…she’s still not confident with carrying out a full conversation in Shona, but she’s able to hear the language much more now. Work in progress! Thanks for watching!
Love is an exquisite thing. Each time when you gaze to each other directly, im seeing formidable love from both sides 💕. That is an amazing grace for you guys. I'M VERY GLAD FOR YOU TWO.

Thank you for sharing ideas before relocating or visiting countries
And thank you for watching! ❤️
Love you guys 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
On the language that's what happened to me when I first got to Kenya. Learning the local languages of a country is very important especially if you are permanently in that country
Definitely! Once you don’t look obviously foreign, the locals are gonna approach you in their language 100% of the time! And it becomes uncomfortable to continuously say “Sorry I can’t speak your language”. So learning is 100% a must!
Thanks for sharing! ❤️
@@TheMegabushFamily totally agree, the acceptance also becomes greater once you speak their language. All the best as you learn Shona, I know quite a few things in Shona so I can guarantee you that you will soon be able to speak and understand it 100%
I'm a new subscriber just found your video this morning and I'm already on my 3rd....I love the one with your parents visiting and the one celebrating our independence 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲...then this one and I'm loving everything so far....I'm also a Wode Maya and miss tudy fun....I can't wait to visit Africa....sending love from 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Ohhh welcome! Thanks for watching and thanks for subbing!
I am Zimbabwean but i hope and wish we could diversity our food a lot more. Also we need to consume less salt. Maybe more chilly but definitely less salt. I like that we now have things like gango but we need to experiment more and incorporate other food "cultures," from other counties. Maybe Debs you can start by opening a Jamaican/ Ghanaian food place in Zim.
I definitely will when the time is right! 😉Right now there are actually two Jamaican restaurants in Zim! One called Reggae Flavaz currently even does market at Queen of Hearts; you can check them out!
@@TheMegabushFamily thanks for the info amanini. Will check them out.

Hi guys, I love this information, very educational. My question to Deb, how about the food, did you have a hard time adjusting to the food, and can you get your Jamaican food in Zim to buy, etc, ackee, bread fruit and mangoes, etc, etc. Sending love to you guys from 🍁🍁🍁
I loveee this question! My mom’s gonna send me a care package soon from Jamaica and we plan on doing a video on it. I absolutely cannot get a single Jamaican item here! 😅😅 Mangoes yes, but not the same at all.
I’ve actually adjusted to the food! It’s not as diverse as our Jamaican cuisine, but their meat is top tier! Especially the beef. Chicken is also mostly natural and flavorful. Adjusting to the diet hasn’t been difficult, but I wish they had more diversity. Will do a video on the food soon!
Love right back at you! We see you!❤️ Thanks for the continued support!
@@TheMegabushFamilytry to grow plaintains, and varities of banana. Mowa is plenty in Zimbabwe.
@@chipi274o you know how we could source the plantain plant to then grow it in Zimbabwe? Because I don’t I’d be allowed to bring plants from Jamaica (U.S. route)
What about sourcing from Nigeria?
@@TheMegabushFamilyDebs i understand our food may not be as diverse as the jamaican cuisine but i believe we have a lot of variety and it comes down to who is handling the chef duties in the home, can they play around with the many different flavours we have in Zimbabwe or they would rather stay in their comfort zone and cook sadza, chicken stew and veggies for eternity. I don’t know if plantains in Jamaica are different from the ones we have in Zimbabwe but i’m from the eastern hughlands in zimbabwe and we have plantains all year round, we also have different types of bananas like the carvendish banana and mini bananas, we have different types of yams which we call madhumbe and there is also magogoya, we have different types of cereal crops which include bulrush millet, sorghum, finger millet, livingstone potato/ tsenza, a variets of peas, beans, cowpeas, we have so many bean types i can’t name them all but the most consumed are navy beans, kidney beans, soy beans, pinto beans, wax beans, black beans, chickpeas, cranberry beans and many more we have a variety of meats, pork, beef, goat, rabbit, sheep, crocodile, chicken, turkey, duck, ostrich, fish and their types, game meat and so on, we have sweet potatoes, potatoes, rice, maize, sweet corn, cauliflower, brocolli, covo, tsunga, kale, kale, sweet cabbage, red cabbage, you go to the supermarket and there is tuna, shrimp, king crab sticks, hake fillets, tilapia fillets and loads of fruit, i don’t get it what more variety do you need.
Very informative. Loving the content 🙌🏽
Thanks Troy! Loving your support! We miss you and Ash! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
@@TheMegabushFamily we miss you guys too!
Ok,I would like to visit Zim
I am 🇯🇲 moving to 🇰🇪
Wow!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
What prompted your move?
(You’re gonna love it in Kenya!)
@@TheMegabushFamily I am just feeling a bit disconnected with Canada. Racism has gotten bolder, and I see nothing changing for our peoples. Unconscious bias is rampant in our workplaces. All it would take is for a far-Right party to gain traction. This caused a nervous breakdown and I left Canada and went to Kenya. I feel inlove with Kenya and I have already invested and is learning Swahili. I can’t wait to get back there
7:20 I'm still waiting for you two to do the African Ancestry DNA test. Mrs. Megabush would need to ask her dad or brother to do it for her because the Y-chromosome is needed for paternal test. 🤞🏿
😄😄😄 I will! Lol but we have to arrange, it’s not so easy to since we’re so far apart (Dad’s in the US, brother is in Jamaica, I’m here in Zimbabwe).
@@TheMegabushFamily I understand. I bet they ship their kits to Jamaica. The company is US based.
@@patrickrealestate-8193 Would have to contact them and see how best to do it. Or maybe I’ll do it on my next visit back to Jamaica.
I suspect Tony must have the san people dna who are the original inhabitants of Southern Africa, western dna or Asian dna coz he is very light.
Thanks for this yall. Great video 👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾✌🏾
What an excellent conversation, but you look African especially from East African its hard to tell if your are a Jamaican unless u disclose it to someone their some genes of Africa "
And that’s how 98% of Jamaicans look: like me 😅😅😅 So we hope this channel helps inform both sides of the world about the other. And thank you so much for watching! 🙏🏾❤️
@@TheMegabushFamily It's interesting on how the Jamaicans & the Caribbeans of African descendants have kept their roots & culture after being taken from west Africa especially from Akan tribe of Ghana for over 400 years ago have remained intact "

Hi guys love your channel and content. Just out of interest. Debra since you come from Jamaica can you speak Patois like what the Jamaicans musicians do
Thank you! Do share and subscribe!
OF COURSE I speak patois! 🤣🤣🤣 All REAL Jamaicans do! I’m actually a dub poet (hobby) most of my poetry is in broken English Lol But I think we’ll make a video for you guys where I’m speaking in patois throughout! 😄 It’s just that not everyone will understand patois…and some people (most chinese for example) don’t understand a single word of broken English..so for the widest audience reach, I usually speak in standard English. But check out this video, there’s a part where I break into patois for a bit:

What the cost for the plain fare?
A bit pricey right now from Jamaica (no straight flights) cost also depends on the route you take. You can check on different airline websites for a general idea though.
❤❤❤ Guinea 🇬🇶
I'll add: have your housing situation secured too. Poor housing, having to house with family can actually be a recipe for disaster especially if you have children. Deb how are you making new friends? What made you guys choose Zimbabwe over Jamaica as the country to settle?
Yes! We completely agree with that point! Housing situation must be sorted out. Perhaps if you live with family initially for a short time 2-3months while you settle may be fine if the family relationship is good; but definitely not long term.
It’s funny, the friends I’ve made are either work friends or through Tony lol (eg. His friend’s wife, or his friend’s sister lol) I haven’t managed to make friends independently yet mostly because my work schedule is hectic. But the friends I do have, have been great and supportive thus far.
lol why we’ve settled in Zimbabwe instead of Jamaica is complex, a story for another video! 😂😂😂 But Jamaica isn’t completely off the books…it’s home too 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Keep going 😊
We will keep watching and sharing 😊
❤
I love you nice couple from Wade Maya Sub.
Thanks for subbing!
Barbies will weave Your cultures and one generation from now things will be different.....
Why, my experience with a Zimbabwean has been totally negative. He abandoned his child when he was given the privilege of making up for his irresponsible behavior and neglect he packed his son and sent him back to America.
Every other African states notes that Zimbabweans can’t be trusted. All pretense when they think you have money and can take care of them.
Truly sorry you had such a bad experience. Circumstances differ. And at the end of the day, regardless of nationality, people are people.
Truly sorry you had such a bad experience. Circumstances do differ. And there are untrustworthy people of every nationality. To pre-judge someone’s character based on nationality is akin to racism. All the best though, hope you’ll heal and have peace of mind soon. One love ❤️
@@TheMegabushFamily interesting that you should assume that I’m being racist. But I know for sure what the circumstances were. If people of African culture can deem another African state to be of a certain nature I can’t see then how you can prejudge my situation.
And for your information I have been healed from this situation. The point is one never forgets pain especially when you have to live with it and the other party and his kinsmen are in total agreement with the behavior of the guilty party.
Actually, you're speaking Shona well, and the accent matters not.
Zimbabwe -> South Africa -> Namibia
